Greyhound Bus Lines

I purchased my roundtrip ticket to Washington DC months before. I saved the electronic ticket to my iBooks to use upon boarding. But, the sign said checkin at ticket window. So, I headed to the ticket window to check in. But, the ticket booth operator refused to take my ticket information because I did not print a paper ticket. I asked if she would print me a copy, but she said she could do nothing. I looked for a kiosk and there was no way, like Amtrak, for me to print my ticket. I almost begged her to please consider my situation. She refused. I was forced to buy another ticket for $ 8.50 more. I lost $ 20.

Terrible. The bathroom reeked from 6 aisles away on outbound bus, on the return bus was more than two hours late departing. Wretched.

Wilmington, DE station is horrific. Bathroom is worse than camping.

Do not use Greyhound, it is a waste of your money. The customer service they provide is non-​existent. Please head my advice, I was delayed over 10 hours and they wouldn’t refund any money to me. DO NOT use them. Tell all of your friends because you don’t want to be in a situation like this. If I could give them a Zero I would.

With the recent cessation of the Megabus NY — DE route, Greyhound now has a monopoly on reasonable transportation from NY to DE (still waiting for the day a one way ticket on Amtrak doesn’t cost three figures!). As compared to Megabus, the Greyhound buses are roomier and there’s actually a station (albeit a rather dingy one) with a restroom and seats for passengers to wait in. The drivers are also usually more courteous and have the appearance of being more professional.
All that being said, considering the higher cost of a greyhound ticket (vs Megabus), I expect fewer inconveniences. For one, the Wilmington station has a stupid policy of requiring all passengers, even if they’ve purchased their ticket online ahead of time, to wait in a long ass line to check in at the ticket window at least 30 minutes before departure. This defeats the point of buying ahead of time and significantly lengthens what should be a 2 hour bus ride. If they want to institute this policy, at least have more than one overwhelmed employee working at the ticket window. As with Megabus, there is also a pretty good likelihood that the bus will be delayed. And usually no information is conveyed to passengers regarding when the bus will arrive and why there’s a delay. Ugh.

Terrible service. Bus was late, overbooked. Other Greyhound drivers on the bus almost refused to remove their baggage from the seats until they realized that there were too many people. Will not use again unless I had to

On bus now. The lady who works at the station and I just got into a verbal argument. She is never nice, and always seems put out. If you don’t like your work quit. Don’t torture the clients with your attitude and awful disposition. I have never seen her smile, sometimes she is ok but that is it, why do I need to check in and get a boarding number? I have one already on my ticket. Try that in nyc and see where it would get you. They need a better system and a smile. Without customers no business. Act like we matter. Hell pretend, I just called customer service. Will update after they respond. I will not be yelled at when nothing I said was a lie. Domt like it, change your behavior. Defending it and excusing it isn’t the way to go!!! I use for price, otherwise amtrak would be the way to go.
