With my strong understanding of learning theory, operant and classical conditioning, and species specific behaviors and ethologies, I can help you with almost any companion animal you have; I am not just a dog trainer! Yes, you can learn to train your cat, rabbit, bird, goat, anything
History
Established in 2012.
After completing my MSc in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare, I started Fur & Feathers as a way to help pet owners improve their relationships with their companion animals. After working in kennels and animal shelters for several years I saw how little some people understood their pets, and saw plenty of pets acting in undesirable ways that left their owners feeling frustrated.
I believe that by understanding why our pets do what they do, we will be better equipped at preventing such behaviors from occurring in the future.
I use science-based training methods and teach pet owners how to apply these to their own animals, so that they will have the skills to work with their pet in the future as well as the present, instead of having to rely on professionals all the time. I do not use forceful techniques or fear, as this will only weaken your bond with your pet. Instead, I teach owners how to get their pets to listen because they WANT to, not because they HAVE to.

Business Owner
I have been working with animals since 2006 in boarding kennels, animal shelters, volunteering with rescue organizations, dog walking, cat sitting, and fostering homeless dogs and cats. I started training my own dogs in 2000, but really got into training in 2006.
I didn’t want to be ‘just a dog trainer’ and so I studied Animal Behavior, Training, and Enrichment at Delaware Valley College and graduated with honors in 2011. I spent those four years learning about different training methods and how to apply them to the real world. I wanted to be even better at training though, and believe that the more you understand an animal’s behavior, the better you will be at training them. So I moved to England in 2011 and graduated with my MSc in Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare.
I am passionate about all companion animals and love the idea of helping pet owners to better understand their pets, whether it be a dog, cat, bird, or small mammal.
