History

Established in 1999.

Karen Lee started her career in Boston at WEA and was quickly hired by Elektra Records in New York for national radio promotion duties.

In 1987, Karen was hired by I.R.S. Records in New York and was promoted to the Vice President of Promotion position for the label which took her to Los Angeles in 1995. While with the labels, Karen worked with a wdie variety of artists including Sting, R.E.M., The GoGo’s, Concrete Blonde, Jools Holland, The English Beat, Squeeze, Stewart Copeland, General Public, Fine Young Cannibals, Wall of Voodoo, The Cars, Motley Crue, PIL, Metallica, 10,000 Maniacs, The Cure, Anita Baker, Howard Jones, and The Alarm, among others.

In 1999, Karen began her own independent promotion company, Evolution Promotion, with her business partner, Karen Doran. Evolution’s eclectic roster includes Ludovico Einaudi, AIR, Craig Armstrong, William Orbit, Massive Attack, as well as daily promotion operations for various Major and Independent Record Labels.
