History
Established in 2010.
Liz Biro has been covering Wilmington’s food and dining scene for the New York Times Company’s StarNews in Wilmington, N.C., since 2004. Her Friday column The Dish tracks restaurant openings and closings as well as chef comings and goings and lots of other tasty nuggets. Up-to-the minute food news is served in her Port City Foodies blog posts. Liz is also a restaurant reviewer for the StarNews. Over the years, she has been asked so often, «Where should we eat?» that she felt like a walking restaurant guide. So she decided to become one.

Business Owner
Freelance writer Liz Biro and her family came to North Carolina for the expansive beaches, friendly atmosphere, and fresh seafood. Since arriving as a child, she’s never looked back at her native New Jersey (Mom is native Italian; Dad was Hungarian).
A journalist for 25 years, Liz has covered everything from local fisheries to politics. She left reporting behind for a while to become a chef and operate her own catering business that served groups of up to 200 people.
Since 2004, Liz has been covering Wilmington’s food and dining scene for the New York Times Company’s StarNews in Wilmington, N.C.
