An oasis in the antiques desert that is known as Wilmington, the Cape Fear Antique Center gives me some hope that the antiques market in Wilmington isn’t completely and utterly picked through. Some quality pieces were to be found for some reasonable prices, and I’m still thinking about going back for the Cartier cigarette lighter in the case(which doesn’t really serve any practical purpose since I don’t smoke, but it *did* look cool). The people there seemed friendly enough, and it’s a place I’ll definitely go back to when I’m in the area again.

I wasn’t sure what to expect since this place is located between a nail salon and a wig/hair extensions shop, but I’m glad I stopped in here. The ladies working were really sweet and friendly, as soon as I walked in they were attentive but not annoying. This place is 90% furniture, so if you’re looking for some very elegant, well preserved, pieces to add to your home, then you should come in here. I saw gorgeous dining tables with the matching chairs, china cabinets, night stands, bed frames, side tables, parlor chairs and desk. The prices are what you would expect for a fancy antique store that sells high end antiques. I wasn’t really thinking of buying anything, but I saw a desk that caught my eye and made the purchase. The best part is they have an «Upon Approval» policy. For the next 30 days if I, for whatever reason, decide I don’t want the desk, I can take it back and get a full refund. Worth checking out if you’re looking for something old and beautiful, and need to fill some space in your house.
