ARS/Rescue Rooter Wilmington

I had my air conditioner tuned up in February and everything appeared ok. Then in July I had a problem and they came and fixed it. However they had a big sales pitch that the unit was in bad shape an every thing should be replaced. Things really changed in 4 months. I am getting a second opinion.

I called to get some prices. They wanted to setup an appt and I allowed them since that was the only way to guarantee same day service. When they called I again asked for price and the lady said prices vary he must come out to tell you specifically. So I have to pay you to come out and give me a price. Funny lots of other places gave me prices of what I wanted done over the phone. I ended up canceling my appt to go with someone else.

I had an HVAC system installed by ARS in December 2011 and have had problems ever since. The actual units themselves are properly functioning; it’s how they were installed. They refuse to rectify connection issues which have led to constant humidity levels greater than 60%; even in the winter it remains greater than 50%.
My once dry crawl space is wet under dripping ductwork. My doors no longer shut from the moisture. Even running the system at 69 degrees only makes you feel damp and clammy. I have had inspectors come and look at the units, and state the ductwork has become wet inside due to improper sealing and installation. The irony of it all is that I paid ‘extra’ for an extended warranty– but unfortunately that does not cover another company to correct their poor insulation job… and ARS certainly isn’t going to do anything about it.
I paid an exorbitant amount for what I was told would be a HVAC system which would cool and heat my home at comfortable levels, with a 100% satisfaction guarantee… but I have not been, nor am satisfied whatsoever. I now have more hindrances than when I did with my older units.
If you want a company that stands behind their work, and their written guarantee, then ARS isn’t one I would recommend.
