Got my order wrong. my fries are over cooked. Not happy with my experience at all. Wouldn’t recommend to my friends or family at this time.

The food is good and priced decently. It is one of the few places still where two can eat for ten dollars. The workers are friendly. I have heard rumors from two different former employees but it is nothing I have seen or experienced. Of everything I tried the only thing I didn’t like was the hotdogs. However, they have the best taco salads and patty melts. I want to try the things that Stephanie H. mentioned. I also enjoy playing the toy crane and buying prizes in the plastic eggs.

We were in the area due to an impulse that I had to fulfill, and came across this little place. We were starving and far from home. We shared fries while eating hot dogs and a cheeseburger. We went throught the drive thru, so we didn’t really see the inside. The young girl working the speaker was nice enough, but this place didn’t have anything that made it stand out. The food was so-so.

Good hot dog stand. Decent jumbo burrito’s, gyro plate is good, good cheese fries. Not awesome but solid and best in the area for a gyro or hot dog.

How can one place with good locations get it so wrong? I’ve been to the New Lenox and Crest Hill locations several times in my life and the Wilmington AJ’s is 5 steps below either of these. Maybe it’s just fond memories of days past, but I remember AJ’s as being good quality, short order food. This place is not. It’s average at best. The gyro is greasy and bland, the fries are soggy, and if the cashiers could shut up and stay off their phones for more than 5 seconds, you might actually feel like you’re a customer. I think it’s Wilmington. There is something in the water that taints everything in a very bad way. Do yourself a favor. If you want AJ’s, hit up another location. If you want a good gyro close by, check out the gyro shack in Joliet.

Ordered burritos. they were disgusting. very bland, not even salt added for flavor. it was mush. I took it back up after taking 1 bite and the lady told me they would make a new one. I said I dont want a new one. if this is the way they are made, why would I want a new one. I said I want a refund, she said we dont give refunds, I asked where the sign was that said that. she said nowhere, but there was nothing wrong with the burrito. I yelled very loudly that she would give me a refund. And after getting the attention of everyone in there that night she finally offered me a partial refund because I ate part of it. 1 bite. Needless to say I will never return there even if they gave me free food for a year, and if I were you guys I would steer clear unless you feel like yelling at someone and causing a scene.

I grew up near the other AJ’s location in New Lenox. So it’s nice to be near one of these places again. The food is pretty good! Excellent fries always cooked to perfection. The gyros are what I usually come here for. They are excellent! There is pretty much a full menu with anything from hotdogs and burgers to pizza puffs and mexican food.

Food here is pretty good but nothing to write home about. Huge problem lies with the staff, which is primarily made up of surly teenagers. I have been coming here on average about once a month for a while now, back to when it used to be Karoles Patio. The service is about as bad as it comes. Average drive through wait is at least 15 minutes, tonight was 24 minutes(for 2 gyros). You can celebrate a birthday or two in the time it takes to get food through the drive through, it’s although they don’t even think about starting your food until you reach the window. If you go ahead and call in an order, you will still wait at least 15 minutes. Again, i’m pretty sure that no food was started until after I asked about it after waiting for about 10 minutes. At least they keep a good selection of newspapers on the counter, you are gonna need them. Last time I dined in, the two young girls«working» there straight up ignored me for at least 2 – 3 minutes, while having a conversation and texting. I would recommend this place if you don’t mind sitting around waiting and waiting for your order, and getting a free side of attitude from the 17 year olds working there. If the management ever got serious about the service, this place would be a real gem in the rough, and not just decent because it is in Wilmington, with no other good options.
