History
Established in 1985.
Since the 1890’s there has been a meat market at this address. We purchased the business in 1985 and completely renovated the store from top to bottom. Denise and I also lived in the apartment upstairs for 11 years, raising two daughters and our son. Living in the same community as our business has given us true ownership of the area, our children go to school with our clientele and we have as a result made many friends… we Are in tune with our clients needs!
After receiving many accolades from several on-line forums, ie Lthforum.org, Chowhound.com, Komodokamado.com, as well as mention in several publications such as BonAppetite, The Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago, and numerous appearances on WGN, And the local NBC and ABC affiliates.

Classically trained Butcher, over 35 years in the business. Opened in 1985 at this location, which has been a butcher shop since the 1890’s! We offer custom cutting, fresh sausages, custom blends and friendly service. Our smoked meats rival any factory produced products, including house smoked bacon, salmon, turkey, ham, sausages and dried jerky products.
