I would certainly give this establishment a BIGFATZERO. I’ve been a long time customer and order at least once or twice a week. I work in the area and always send clients and whoever I know here because I like to support local businesses. The portions have gotten smaller for the price but it still beats eating fast food. Today we ordered $ 40 worth of food and always ask for couple hot sauces. The lady ran my card and I reminded her if I could grab a couple. She proceeded to tell me she just can’t give me the hot sauces and she will have to run my card again. I was flabbergasted. I always mention on the phone that I need them so my point being if you’re gonna charge put it on the bill, but to run my card again for .50 cents is disgusting. It’s gonna cost the business more to swipe it a second time. Apparently, this business is sooo money hungry they’d rather lose a customer. What happened to good old customer service. Adiós as we take our money elsewhere!

I am done with Thai Inbox. Have now eaten at their newer place in Glenview a couple times(at Waukegan & Lake, replacing the now closed super Your Choice Thai restaurant), and have gotten take-out from the Wilmette restaurant on Skokie Blvd, tonight’s being the last. Both I, and my partner, are sick from the food. Stomach aches, digestive upset. I do not believe that this business is using wholesome ingredients! The place in Wilmette is, as others have said, an older, small, primarily take-out restaurant. It’s on a busy road – Skokie Boulevard – but is easy to find, and to get in and out of, although the parking lot is small and somewhat cramped. The people working the place have been, at our visits, nice, and easy to talk with. It’s the food that’s problematic. I can’t speak to whether it is «authentic», but I can speak to its smell, taste, and the effect it has on me. Tonight I ate their pad thai with tofu, a vegetable, tofu, and peanut sauce dish, and a vegie egg roll. The tofu in both dishes was fried. The taste did not seem off to me(I would not have continued eating it if it had), but its odor seemed heavy, as it has on previous visits. In comparison, my partner and I had a similar Thai dinner in San Francisco within the last two weeks that was not only delicious, but was not upsetting at all. The only conclusion, unfortunately, that I can reach, based on both this meal, as well as meals from here in the past, is that Thai Inbox is skimping on using quality ingredients, most likely quality oils.

This is a very small Thai take our restaurant that has a small free parking lot but it was super full when I tried parking to pick up my food at around 4pm for a late lunch. I wanted to like this place a lot since I’m a huge fan and supporter of the smaller no chain places. Sometimes the best food comes from these places! My experience here didn’t start off the best unfortunately. When I called, they didn’t have the noodles for the normal Pad Kee Mao since they said their noodle machine was broken. This leads me to believe they make their own noodles? Instead I ordered the Inbox Kee Mao which is the same thing except for egg noodles instead of flat rice noodles. Fine… I can handle it. I also ordered a fried wonton appetizer cuz I was craving some fried goodness! When I went to pick up at the location around 4pm, parking lot was full. I kind of put my flashers on and just dashed into grab the food. It was ready for me and I left to eat it back at the office. When I opened the bag, there was no utensils of any kind :(Thank god I had some extras at the office otherwise I would’ve been looking ravenously at my food with on proper way to eat it. I always feel carry out orders should include utensils without you asking for them :(First ding on my experience here. Secondly, I opened up my box of fried wontons and thought I had ordered the wrong thing. These wontons were flat triangle shaped pieces of fried dough… they barely had any filling(please see my pictures). They were tasty… but there was a negligible amount of meat inside. As I started to eat my dough, I realized that there was a little bit of meat inside but it had somehow gotten flattened out during their cooking process so it wasn’t a round ball of meat like a wonton should be. It was just poorly made and this place needs to figure out a proper way to make fried wontons. If you can’t make something right, don’t put it on your menu and serve it. The upside is that their homemade sweet and sour sauce was bomb and that made the deformed«fried wontons» a better experience. Lastly, I dug into my inbox kee mao. This dish was awesome and I would definitely get it again if I ever craved it. The portion size was decent for what I paid and it was tasty. I’m not sure I would say I’d come again because based on my experience, the food is inconsistent and I’ve lost trust in this place… perhaps when I’m feeling thai again and starving at work will I turn to this place. I really wanted to like them more.

Would like to say my comments below are just my own personal opinions about this business and for your reference only. I tried this place for the first time today and I must say the food I ordered was just average, service was not up to expectation and it was a little expensive. About food. The portion of the food was not too bad, it was definitely enough and you won’t leave hungry. I ordered fried rice lunch special, added the beef for extra $ 1. Fried rice was just regular fried rice, totally nothing special about it and it wasn’t even that good. It tasted like something I can make myself in 15 minutes and I know I won’t be charging people $ 8.99 for it. Lunch special comes with an egg roll and a can of soda, they did not give me my drink. I didn’t notice it until I got back to work and didn’t feel like driving all the way back just to get my soda. The guy who took my order, a little strange and out of it. I walked up to him and asked him a question about their lunch special, he did not even wait for me to finish my question and said lunch special is only from Monday to Friday. I stood there in silence thinking to myself, well… it IS Friday otherwise why would I even be here!, then finally a nice lady next to me said to him today is Friday, then he laughed it off like nothing happened. I would have given it a 3 star but the fact that they forgot my can of soda and the weird service I received from the guy, I am giving it a 2 star, plus, the food is really just average, at best! For the money you spent you can get something much better! Will not go back to this place.

My review is short due to fact I got take out. Food was done on time and ready with correct order. Hot and fresh. I got Basil beef fried rice and fresh Spring roll. Both were okay. Didn’t really taste any basil in my rice or much spice wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Also spring roll is unique nothing like any others I’ve had before it sushi size pieces with carrot, avocado, tofu, and cream cheese.

Food was ok. Got carryout. Inside the restaurant at pickup I was completely overwhelmed by the strong pungent cigarette smell. It was awful and disgusting, almost left without even picking up the food. Very bad impression about the cleanliness. Will not be coming back.

I really like this place as it’s quick, convenient, tasty, and the staff is friendly. They have lunch specials for $ 8 which include an entrée, egg roll, and soda. It’s a cute space, but works only for picking up food and not really eating a meal there.

Tried this last night, ordered the egg roll and red snapper, it was ok not bad, not authentic. Prices were reasonable but the order has to be $ 15 before they will deliver and then they add extra depending on the distance. Will I order from them again? Most likely NOT

Don’t ever order on a Friday if you expect to eat. Over 1 ½ hrs to deliver and they don’t even offer you credit towards your order. Made me miss my lunch twice. Had to cancel my order the last 2 times. They have lost a customer in me.

The food from this takeout place is really good. Their Lime Chicken is superb! The dish basically comprises chicken tenders fried in a light batter, accompanied by a lime infused sweet mayonnaise. The chicken is fried just right, is perfectly crisp and the mayo is darn good! While I’m not sure how Thai the dish is, it’s frickin’ amazing! However, I wish they’d give more pieces of the Lime Chicken. Portions, in general, are okay, though a little more would justify the prices more. One serious flaw is with how they box the Lime Chicken for to-go orders. The box is Styrofoam and the hot chicken burns big holes in the box, thereby making Styrofoam get stuck to the food, which is hazardous to health. I’m going to complain about that to them so they change their methods.

I love their potstickers and the pad Thai. Whenever I’m craving comfort food, I order it from here and I’m never disappointed. Flavors are super balanced and delicious! Best thai place around my area for sure!

Ok but not more than that, since opening their Glenview location it seems the quality has slumped at the Wilmette location.

I was very disappointed with this meal. I ordered the chicken satay, pad Thai with tofu, and the naem sod salad. First, when I arrived to their store front there was a horrible cigarette smell in the lobby which smelled as though someone was smoking regularly on the premise, but trying to cover it up with heavy perfumes. Then when I went to pay they told me my total was $ 55! And I was shocked since I had ordered three dishes. When I said I hadn’t ordered half the meals on the receipt the employee tried to tell me I had. It was kind of ridiculous. It wasn’t until another woman walked in who was also picking up that the employee realized I was telling the truth. They rectified the situation, but that plus the awful cigarette smell really was not a great first impression. The food was sub par as well. Thai is my favorite type of food, so I eat it a lot. The satay chicken had an unpleasant aftertaste to me, and the chicken seemed like low quality. The naem sod was the best dish of the three, and it was able to create some spicy heat, and the ginger tasted fresh. But the pad Thai was awful. The tofu was inedible, chewy and tasteless, and the noodles were cooked together so much that they created a brick of noodles which was hard to break a part in order to serve myself. I will not be ordering from here again or recommending this to a friend. I much prefer other thai restaurants in the area.

We order from Thai Inbox and a regular basis, and will probably continue to do so because there aren’t a lot of other delivery options in the area. This is standard American thai. I like: the green curry the panang curry the cashew chicken Delivery is timely, phone service is always polite.

I got my co-workers hooked in this place. I think the food is good here. Inbox Kee Mao used to be good. I ordered it today and asked for a 5 for spicy level. I feel like there was something missing, not flavorful anymore and it wasn’t spicy at all. Such a disappointment! The Fresh Spring Rolls were good. I got sushi kinda feeling taste. Mango Sticky Rice(seasonal only): not that good. I’ve had better. I think they switched the chef or something since they opened another location. I don’t know.

I was very pleasantly surprised! Don’t let looks deceive you… this little strip mall Thai place is well worth the trip! $ 7 for pad thai, a pop, and egg roll at lunch… can’t beat it!!** Crab Rangoon was pretty solid… sweet with a great dipping sauce. The fried tofu was just fair… kind of dry and not great texture… I have had it better other places. Overall a great place! **MAKESURE you tell them you want the special when ordering or you won’t get it.

There is a window-facing counter and a few stools here if you want to eat in, but generally this is mostly for carry out or delivery. The place is pretty bright and kind of cutesy, it’s actually very clean and if you don’t mind eating at a counter I would do that. I ate in with a friend and ordered the Pad Siew and their egg rolls. The food came quickly and was really good. The egg rolls were delicious(but a little skimpy on the chicken, and not filled very well). The Pad Siew was also really good, good flavors, nice portions of chicken and some broccoli. I tried a little of my friend’s Chicken Satay, and they were pretty generous with that, and the peanut sauce went perfectly with it. Overall, the portion sizes were pretty standard; I have yet to go to a Thai place that serves up really big portions. The prices were also pretty standard for a Thai restaurant(although a little cheaper than some sit-down restaurants) with most of the noodle and entrees ranging from $ 7 to $ 10. They had a container of mints and other candy and I grabbed a lychee candy on the way out. It was so good! But then again, lychee anything tastes good to me, so I may be a little biased. Anyway, don’t miss their little after-dinner candy too! Another plus for dining in!
