After using nicotine for 15 years, I have now been nicotine free for 18 months thanks to Shawn. Shawn provided me with the skills and techniques needed to kick the habit. Shawn even helped facilitate insurance billing issues. I do not think I would have been able to quit without Shawn’s help.

So I have quit nicotine addiction 3 times in my life, my most recent was this past December, 2015, and I can confidently say not one bit of my quitting can be attributed to Shawn. When asked to describe Shawn, words that come to mind include fraud and narcissistic. However, let me divulge into how our session went down so this doesn’t sound like a slew of personal mudslinging. Shawn was very receptive to my post Christmas voicemail requesting an appointment. He was communicative via text and accommodated a last minute schedule change. When I arrived in his office and was taken to the room did he come off as truly bat sit crazy. He started off on a wild ramble about nonsense, incessantly drawing circles all over his paper, asking me to draw lines down and write out random statements that made no sense. At one point I stopped him to politely suggest that perhaps him listening to a little bit about my nicotine habit might help (to this point he had been on a non-​stop talking spree about himself). As I told him a little bit about my nicotine addiction he continued his incessant circle drawing on his paper writing down from time to time abstract things I mentioned. I felt like I was in a movie, with an insane version of Robin Williams (RIP) playing a long winded joke on me. After he gave me 3 minutes to give my nicotine addiction background, he continued with his rampage. Something about how he left home in the 3^rd grade to Texas and became some TM Meditation guru. Shortly after going to Switzerland to conquer his fear of heights and becoming some master skier. Then about meeting the founder of Tata India, and his wife taking him to meet mother Theresa. He then made statements that just didn’t make sense. He mentioned there were 2 suicides on the metra tracks, one in Wilmette and one in Glenview where the deceased were on Chantix. I have yet to receive confirmation from anywhere that this was a true statement. I have heard of suicides and what not but this specific statement made me question the legitimacy of anything this guy was saying. Then he mentioned he too used to be a heavy nicotine addict using both cigarettes and dipping tobacco, the latter which then became some form of tobacco he would snort but didn’t know what it was called (I highly doubt if you were a heavy snuff user you wouldn’t know what it was called you were snorting into your nose). Anyways, long story short over the 2 hour yap about himself and other tangential stories that had mostly to do with the awesomeness of himself we finally got to the hypnosis, which I refused to let myself be hypnotized by him so I can’t claim whether it worked or not and then he takes me to his cold laser machine which he tells me is 15 years old and is better than the new ones. Let me tell you something… lasers are one of the few things I can promise you have been made better over the last 15 years.
Anyways, I could go on about the insanity of this experience. I would almost argue the $ 390 he charged was worth the pure comedy I got out of it, but quitting nicotine is a serious thing and this guy is as far removed from the seriousness of it as anyone I have ever met. If i had the time I would sue him for the $ 390 not because I need the $ 390 but just to make the point of how terrible of a practitioner this guy was. I remember a friend of mine, extremely smart, reports to the CEO of one the biggest tech company’s in the world, believing in an Indian guru who was over 140 years old. I guess when you need to believe in something (a guru, or someone who will help you quit smoking), you buy into the outrageous stories to help let yourself go to them. Its probably why very smart people with cancer end up in these overseas holistic hospitals… they’re so desperate they’ll try anything. I caution you in going to this guy. He will talk your ear off about himself, and then charge you to do a ton of things on your own that you didn’t need to pay him for. Don’t pay someone to tell you to take walks and breathe deeply. Don’t pay someone to tell you to recite mantras. He wants you to download some tape of him talking but I can’t think of this guy’s voice without laughing hysterically yet so maybe soon I will.
Here are some people who actually know what they’re doing to help you quit nicotine. Nina Laveson… she’s in Scottsdale but will Skype with you. She was very effective. Nicholas Steadman in Manhattan… an incredibly accurate acupuncturist well versed in nicotine withdrawal, and Carol Southard and Northwestern in Chicago… I haven’t seen her but friends have.

I went to Shawn around two years ago because I wanted help to quit smoking. I can’t explain how he did it but I have not smoked since that day. I now need some help with some other issues and I am looking forward to going back since I really think that he will be able to help me. I would definitely recommend him if you are trying to quit smoking or have other issues that you need help with.

Often times I would feel anxious and not have a clear mind, and subsequently reached out to Shawn for some help. He is well-​versed, with decades of experience, in meditation & hypnotherapy. Since meeting with Shawn, I have been calmer, more tranquil, and at peace with my inner-​self. I would advise those not only with anxiety, but also those who want to better their mental & spiritual self! Each session with Shawn & meditation I perform on my own at home is geared for both progressive & continual growth. Shawn is very understanding of everything him and I have discussed 1 on 1, and is very trustworthy. ⁵⁄₅ stars, and I plan to go back again!

Shawn has a very unique way about him. He talks with you first for about 2 hours and discusses your habit with you. The last hour he uses hypnosis and laser accupuncture to help you cope with the initial urges of quitting.
Don’t go to Shawn if you’re not sure you want to quit. Also, make sure you listen to the cd if you do go; it really helps with the process. I haven’t gained a pound, my energy levels are way up, and my friends and family are amazed that I have’t had even a puff (even when drinking.)
Also, he guarantees you for a year. 1 person is $ 350. 3 of us went and it was $ 275 each for 3 hours. Happy Quitting!
