History
Established in 2013.
Champlain Valley Senior Community has found its home in the historic neoclassical structure of the former Willsboro grade school. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the red brick building dates back to 1927, with an addition built in 1952. The school served three generations of students who passed through its doors.
After closing in 2001, the building sat unused for nearly a decade before its transformation into the Champlain Valley Senior Community. The former school now functions as an assisted living home featuring modern amenities fused with the classic charm and character of its historic building. In tribute to the learning which once took place here, our residents likewise receive the opportunity to further expand their minds with fascinating guest lectures and stimulating activities. After all, learning is a lifelong process.
