The atmosphere is very nice and the food is awesome! This is our first visit, and it will not be our last. The restaurant is our new«steak place». I had the filet and my husband had the bone in ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. The whipped potatoes and green beans were very tasty, and the desserts are delicious. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Good dining experience here tonight. I had rare filet and baked potato with water. Was real good. Others had steak items also. Had aps of shrimp and crab choices. Also real good. Nice setting. Good service.

We dine frequently at Four Winds and we are never disappointed. The 26oz bone-in ribeye with brandy peppercorn sauce is our favorite. You must try their homemade onion ring appetizer. My favorite side dishes are the steamed asparagus and creamed spinach. Fabulous place to dine for special occasions or if you are like me and just want a good steak on a weeknight.

I’ll start by saying that I’ve actually never been here before. So how can I review the business? Well since I can’t review the food, I’ll review the customer service. The manager, Richard, worked with me to plan a special surprise dinner for a friend of mine and her spouse who is battling cancer. All I wanted for them was to have a memorable date night at their favorite restaurant during a very difficult time. Richard made sure that the surprise worked out and that they were given a nice romantic dinner. They were so shocked and so happy. It is customer service like this that will make me drive out of my Dallas bubble to support this business.

This is a secluded restaurant located next to their cattle ranch. I came at night so I wasn’t able to see the lake behind the restaurant but you can see it’s a beautiful property. We started off with the shrimp cocktail and fried oysters. Both were pretty standard but tasty. For our entrees, we ordered the bone-in ribeye and filet mignon. Both were cooked perfectly! The filet was tender and seasoned just right. The ribeye was also tender but a little salty. It came with a brandy peppercorn sauce that was a little sweet. I enjoy my steaks seasoned and without sauce so I found it to be too salty. Perhaps the sweet sauce was intended to offset it… For our sides, we got the whipped potatoes and the sautéed mushroom & onions. Both tasted as expected, nothing to brag about. Our server was Bonnie. She was sweet and very attentive. Overall, a great visit but didn’t leave me longing for more.

We try to make it a point to celebrate our birthdays here. Every time we go the food is amazing. Not only is their food the best, their service is too. They have accommodated to whatever our family may throw at them every year! We have pretty much have tried everything on the menu at this point & have loved every single plate!

Four Winds is our go-to steak house and rivals most of the high end steak houses we’ve been to anywhere, including New York and Las Vegas. The steak is consistently as good or better than those costing several times the price, and we’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff is friendly and on top of things adding to the experience. There is no turnover in staff so you will see the same faces all the time, including the owner/chef who is always in the kitchen. The environment is rustic and high end, but definitely not arrogant as they welcome casually-dressed diners. Many choose this place for a special event, so of course many will be dressed up, but it is not a requirement. They do have an upstairs as well as a private room and can accommodate a large group or party. Sides are a la carte and served family style, so try the carrots, and grilled onions and mushrooms; both are superb. It does get busy, so reservations for fri/sat and holidays are recommended sometimes a few weeks out. If I were to pick a favorite restaurant in the U.S., Four Winds is it. Not for the variety of food, but for the consistently excellent steaks and experience.

This was our first trip to Four Winds and it will NOT be our last. We had such a great experience. The waitress was amazing and our glass never got past half empty. I got the 12oz New York Strip(medium well) and it was cooked to perfection as well as seasoned perfectly. It was tender and full of flavor. My wife got the grilled chicken breast and loved it as well. It was juicy all the way through. It was terrific.

Fourwinds is a awesome steak restaurant. The steak is consistently good. The rustic atmosphere is romantic and relaxing. The wait staff is friendly. The tables are cleaned immediately after you are finished with entrée. The food is better than most of the top steak houses we have eaten at around the country.

We have dined here on two occasions and it was excellent each time. We have had the Filet, Porterhouse, and the NY Strip. All were cooked perfectly. The appetizers and sides were also cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Bread Pudding is amazing. It was the same quality compared to the Bread Pudding we have had in the French Quarter of New Orleans. It is a commute out to Wills Point but it is worth the drive for a special occasion or a nice evening out.

It seems people really like this place, which is great. What matters most is your individual tastes, expectations and what makes you happy. Unfortunately, they missed the mark with me. First, let me say the property is beautiful, and the restaurant itself is warm and inviting. Our server(can’t recall his name) was cordial and informative. He seemed to know the menu well, however, I was pretty disappointed with the lack of craft beer, and the only options were Budweiser products, and Dos XX. I would expect a much better beer selection from an establishment touting this caliber. Their wine list also leaves much to be desired. The steak was a great piece of meat, but cooked a little above the mid-rare I ordered. I can tolerate a little variation. However, it was WAY over seasoned, with what tasted like a salt crust with hints of garlic powder and black pepper. I had to scrape it off in order to eat it. The ala carte sides we ordered were asparagus and au gratin potatoes. The potatoes weren’t bad, but the asparagus was barely cooked, and tasted strongly of raw garlic. Overall, I wouldn’t give them too many props for over seasoning a $ 30 steak, or under cooking an easy vegetable. IMO that highlights the lack of experience in their kitchen. Better care and ability needs to be demonstrated before I’d recommend them, or return.

Very good. Did not realize we needed a reservation, got lucky and got a table. Good service, good steak, great atmosphere. Little pricey but overall good food and good experience.

We’ve been coming to Four Winds for special occasions for 5 years. They are the most consistent steakhouse we’ve been to. They compare with the best known(we think better than most), even SW at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

Fantastic place for dinner. Worth the drive. Next to cattle sale barn off FM47 and I-20. New Orleans style BBQ shrimp was delicious for an appetizer. Wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese dressing also very tasty. Wife ordered broiled chicken dish. Very tasty. Creamed potatoes. The roasted vegetables were also very tasty. Filet mignon steak was amazing. Highly recommend. I was told by a friend from Wills Point that this was his favorite restaurant in the world. And he has travelled the world. He was spot on. This place is worth the drive.

(This review is from several years ago. It didn’t post for some reason. Review still stands true tho) AWESOME! I thought creamed corn was reserved for people with no teeth. WOW, I could eat a bucket of their corn! Fantastic steaks and don’t forget the crème brûlée!!! We are blessed to have such a great restaurant out here in the sticks!!!

Some friends and I were in Canton for a funeral and stopped here for dinner on the way home. This place is, as my friend said, a «diamond in the rough». For drinks we ordered a bottle of the Annabella cabernet($ 29 a bottle) and it was one of the best cabs I have ever had. One of my friends had the Annabella chardonay and he enjoyed it equally. We started with the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. The crab cakes were fresh and more crab than breading and the sauce was a great compliment to the sweetness of the meat. The shrimp was fresh, large, and juicy. Nexty up, I had the ceasar salad. It was okay(nothing really special). I thought that it needed more dressing but, that may just be my preference. For dinner, I had the chicken fried tenderloin and it was so tender that I could cut it with a fork. The breading was light and the gravy was delightful. One friend got a filet and he was pleased with it and the other had the pork chops. They were HUGE(as all of the portions were). We thought that they were great but, could have used less cumin in the rub.(we were all sharing our dishes). WARNING, the sides are family style and are enough to feed 4 people. This is hard to believe with the $ 5 price. Some of the dinners come with a side so, we just ordered the creamed spinach to share and it was wonderful. The service was great and the views are rustic and stunning. Four Winds would rival many of the big name steak houses in Dallas. If you plan on being in the Wills Point area, make your reservation ahead of time. It is worth the trip.

Went here for my wife’s 24th birthday celebration. We ordered about half the menu between our entire party and, I must say, after having tried almost everything, this is one of the best meals I’ve eaten in my life. My steak was cooked to a perfect blue rare, and the meat was the star of the show, not the seasoning they put on it. I say this because at most steakhouses you would only taste the seasonings. The sides were great and the desserts were decadent. My wife and I shared the chocolate mousse and we both loved it. I will be returning for other special occasions and maybe just because.

I had the ribeye steak and it was cooked perfectly. The sides are served as family sides and had whipped potatoes, cream corn, and creamed spinach… Yum! I also started with crab cakes and they were delicious as well. I ended the night with a Four Winds coffee made with their own cream.

My wife and I have been here many times and have also enjoyed the experience. Note: we DO go early before the weekend crowd and always call for a reservation. The atmosphere is county ranch and we love the views. We order scallops for appetizers, which taste as fresh as when we had them off the boat in Nova Scotia. My wife orders a small steak, and since I don’t like steak, I order their pecan encrusted catfish. Wow… always terrific. Unless we are stuffed, we split a chocolate dessert. We just love this place. NOTE: Do not use a GPS as their address will put you up by Lake Tawakoni. They are actually just 100 yards or so north of I-20 on FM47.
