Mama Cira’s

Formerly «La Chalupa», Mama Cira’s is as good as Mexican food gets in Northern California. Seriously, there are plenty of places you can go to get some sad «cheese» melted over beans and meat from a can, but Mama Cira actually cooks her food with real spices and love. Five of us ate here and everything we had was delicious. We were craving it days later! Also, the service was so friendly and warm — I felt like Mama Cira might be mi Tia (Aunt) o Abuelita (grandmother). If you’re coming from I-​5, follow the Google directions and look for a small sign on your left.
Oh yeah, La Cascada, which is a few blocks closer to the freeway, and right across from Starbucks — couldn’t eat there because the service was so unfriendly. Do yourself a favor and drive a few extra blocks to Mama Cira’s.
