Kirtland Temple Historic Center

This visitor center is operated by the Community of Christ church. They own the Kirtland Temple, which is the first temple of the Latter Day Saint Movement. There is a small museum here that offers a nice history detailing the early days of the church. They show a film about the Temple, and then you go over to the Temple for a tour. No photos are allowed inside the Temple, but it is a wonderful tour. The guide was informative and knowledgeable. He really gave a nice presentation. The Kirtland Temple itself is a beautiful structure that has been wonderfully preserved. If you are like me and have been past the Temple many times, but never visited do yourself a favor and stop in. It is really worth the trip. They do not proselytize either, so don’t let that keep you away.
