Break’n Eggs Creperie

Had much higher expectations based on the restaurant name. Not alot of options just standard breakfast fare.
Guess crepes are the highlight.
The tea I had there was good and had refills.

Great, fresh food, if you don’t mind waiting for a table. I’ve been there twice and have been impressed with the quality. The fruit that accompanies the crepes is notably fresh and doesn’t have that «mystery melon”-ness that often happens. Blackberries and mango were particularly yummy. My husband and I split a spinach florentine crêpe and a Nutella and banana crêpe today and it was the perfect mix of sweet and savory. Good stuff. They’d make a killing if they opened a location in Buffalo.

We were a party of six. We discovered Breakin’ Eggs via Unilocal driving on our way from Buffalo Airport to Toronto. Surprisingly, on a Thursday morning, there was a line out the door. That’s a great sign!
The place has a parking lot in back and several spaces in front. There are approximately 20 tables, mostly 4-​tops. The grill and creperie area is located in a rounded enclosure in the middle of the back wall.
We were seated after about 10 – 15 minutes. Our waitress came right away for our drink orders and brought a saucer of lemons when she brought back our waters. On the menu was standard fare and a variety of savory and sweet crepes. I opted for a side of French toast and a side of «peameal» bacon, which is ham, as Google revealed to me. I added strawberries (they were sliced) to my French toasted brioche (?) because strawberries are the shiznit. It was delicious! I added a little blueberry-​chipotle sauce (from my friend’s crepes dish) to part of my French toast and that was delicious together also. *I’m tha bomb*
I come from a place where you see allllll types of people wherever I am. This place, not so much. That’s very intriguing to me. Everyone was completely welcoming and friendly and the energy was great.

Third time was not the charm. I wanted so badly to have the experience here I have been told about and had the first time I dined here. My second meal was awful and my third try, with a completely open mind and hoping for the best quickly went sour.
My meal, my first, second and final time here, I ordered the chicken, asparagus and roasted red pepper crêpe. Why three times? The first time was unbelievably fantastic. The second time, it was less than okay. I thought maybe my second time was an off day for the cooks. Today, at best, it was good.
Here’s where the entire experience lost us for good. Once seated we ordered our drinks. We were waiting so long for water and coffee that a different server than the one that took our drink order came over to see if anyone had been over to us and to see what we would like to drink. We didn’t mind, it was a busy morning. My friend ordered an egg white spinach omelet, well done, with potatoes. The first omelet was not egg white only, no big deal. Really, we didn’t mind waiting for the new one, things like this happen. Second one, they failed to make it well done. If you don’t like slimy eggs and cheese that isn’t fully melted, you can understand the issue. They made a mistake and then rushed the new one just to put it out quickly instead of making sure it was fully cooked. The third omelet came out and the white eggs had black char on them. It looked so unappetizing, I am surprised from chef to server they had no problem walking through the dining area with the plate and serving it. My friend didn’t want to eat it so we asked for the check and said she wasn’t going to eat it. The waitress apologized. We left and won’t be back. It was almost as if the waitress wanted us to feel bad for the mistakes and sending back the incorrect order we received more than once. The entire experience and the food was completely disappointing. Maybe it’s just our luck with this place.

It’s good– but not amazzzzzing. And I wouldn’t wait more than 15 minutes here.
Luckily we were there on a weekday and so there was no wait– until the time we left which was about the lunch hour rush. I ordered the savory crêpe with chicken, asparagus and red peppers. There was something off about my crêpe and it reminded me more of an Ethiopian injera (not sour though– no taste, just bland) instead of a light and egg filled crêpe I am used to. I ended up eating just the insides. The mornay sauce was creamy and delish– but I would ask for it on the side if you don’t like your crêpe drenched in white sauce.
Overall, I can see why this place is so hyped up for Buffalo but compared to brunch places in big cities– it’s pretty average to above average. I liked that they sat us by the window and so we had more elbow room. Appreciated the service and the re-​fill on hot water for tea. But I just can’t imagine myself waiting in line on the weekend for this place– it ain’t no Snooze in Colorado.

I’m protesting Break’n Eggs currently… and what I mean is that I can’t ever get a stinkin’ table and I’m pretty upset by this.
I love this place and everyone else in the greater buffalo-​niagara region does too. This is why there’s no place to park, no seats available, and a 45 minute wait every saturday or sunday morning. Which is the ONLY reason they don’t get 5 stars. I want a table, and not getting one is a problem.
I’ll say this though, the food is beyond good and even though they are slammed and stressed and most probably ready to murder someone at any moment you’d never know it by how calm and awesome the service is.
Long story short, you should go here… but not when I want to go. That would be annoying. Or can I sit with you? We can be friends.

I LOVE Break’n Eggs! During lunch hour it can be quite a wait… but it’s so popular for a reason! The food is delicious every time I have been here. The menu is not very large but they have something for everyone. The crêpes are cooked to perfection. Whether you get sweet or savoury, you won’t be disappointed. Last time I tried the california crêpes benedict and it was excellent as well, delicious homemade hollandaise! The fresh fruit is a great mixture; orange, kiwi, blueberry, strawberry, cantaloupe– yum!
The service is always great as well. My last visit my waitress, Avery, was very sweet and attentive. She kept the coffee filled (I love how they give you a little pot!) and she was happy to guide us through the menu and offer suggestions. Her timing was perfect as well. They are able to get people in and out quickly, but without making you feel rushed.
I will definitely be back to Break’n Eggs again soon!
Now if only they had bloody mary’s and mimosas… I’d be there every Sunday!

Slight wait to get in at 9am but expected that on a saturday. Coffee was fresh and delicious with a pot left on the table for refills. All plates come with incredible fresh fruit. The breakfast potatoes were perfect! I had California crepes Benedict with poached eggs, bacon and avocado. Husband had Benedict with Canadian bacon. Both were awesome! Can’ wait to try savory and dessert crepes and the French toast looked good too. Tables are close together but the food makes up for it. Next time I will try to be earlier or after breakfast crowd.

One of the yummiest breakfasts I’ve had in a while. The food was just as tasty as it was pretty. We had the salmon Benedict, crab cakes Benedict and Nutella with banana crepes. I wish we lived closer so we could eat here every Sunday! Nice little gem in an unassuming plaza.
Bad thing is the wait, the place is so popular that there apparently is always a long line and nowhere for everyone to stand. And the woman taking names was a little rude but not sure where else we were supposed to stand?

There is a wait but its solid breakfast place and worth it. Can’t go wrong with the different crepes here. Love their house salad dressing too. Try the banana choc chip pancackes too!

I did not know that breakfast can taste this good. Really. Their potatoes are cooked to a crunchy perfection and their omelettes will always leave you full. I never liked smoked salmon until I had their smoked salmon crepes benedict. Instant addiction.
There is always a waiting on the weekends, try to get here before the church crowd on Sundays. Parking is a nightmare. They have a few spots in the front but its really close to the main road. I usually park in the parking lot behind them although I don’t think I’m supposed to.
I really wish they had unlimited mimosas. But then I would never leave.

What a lovely little spot for breakfast! We both had the #10 breakfast crêpe, with eggs, cheese and sausage — accompanied by breakfast potatoes and fresh fruit. Tasty and appealing to look at too! The coffee was plentiful, hot, and good on an extremely cold day. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

Had the most amazing breakfast ever. The food was heavenly! All fresh and made to order. My new favorite breakfast place.
Not to mention, we had a table full of kids on a holiday and were seated in a timely fashion. The owner made sure the girls were fed first and happy… And took time out of cooking to make sure we had everything we needed.

Never Going Back.
We used to go at least twice a week.
Waited for over 25 minutes, repeatedly being passed over because my friend hadn’t come yet and telling the server that I would like to be sat and get a coffee while I waited. The server refused to accommodate me, repeatedly.
Lousy customer service.
Usually you go to a restaurant to enjoy your meal and time, not to be treated so rudely.
Also witnessed two other customers begging to be sat, one with a baby even going as far as saying «I’ll order for my friend».
Sure they’re busy now, but with that non existent customer service mentality. for how long.
Too many other great restaurants on main street to have to put up with them.

Unilocal reviews and pictures brought me here. It looked delicious. I waited an hour for a table so I was hungry and expecting something as great as people say. I was so wrong. I had the s’mores crêpe and my friend had the Oreos crêpe. The fillings for both were just over whelming. Mine had too many marshmallows in them. They were a bit melted so it was too mushy for my liking. Hers was just packed with crushed Oreos. Literally tastes like nothing else but crushed Oreos. Extremely disappointed. The savory crepes were alright. I had the brie cheese, apples, and candied walnuts. Tasted exactly like an apple pie. I would recommend people order the savory instead.

This past weekends breakfast stop at Break’n Eggs was my second visit to this restaurant and I could not wait. It had been quite a while since I had been there but remember how wonderful my first experience with the food was. I wasn’t thrilled with how close the tables were but the food more than made up for it… the first time. I wish I could say the same about my second experience.
The Creperie fills up fast so I made sure to get there 10 minutes early to grab the two of us table. When I arrived there were quite a few tables available however one server explained they prefer not to seat anyone until their whole party has arrived. Fine, totally understand, no big deal. As I am waiting, another person came in and requested a table for two from a different server, she wasn’t asked if her party was complete, she was just taken to a table right away. No big deal, still plenty of seating available. Once my friend arrived, we were sat right away. Then I remembered just how uncomfortably close to the other tables you are. Forget any kind of personal chatter. A little awkward when the table next to you leaves and their butts are literally on your table as they are trying to scoot out.
Still I could not wait to eat!
I was in the mood for savory so I ordered the chicken, asparagus and roasted red pepper crêpe. When our breakfasts came, I could not wait to cut into it and have all the insides pour out and dive right in. I was half way into the crêpe before I had any asparagus or roasted peppers. The chicken was not fresh. I am guessing it was cooked the previous day. It was hard, dry and a few bites were cold in the middle.
My experience this past time was disappointing all around. I am hoping it was just an «off» morning. I might try one more time in the future only because I remember how great my first experience was over a year ago. I hope to update this review with five stars.

There is almost always a wait up to 30 minutes no matter what day you go, and that makes me sad because the food is so amazing I want it right away.
I like seeing the owner cooking food in front of my eyes.
The omelette and the French toast we ordered were cooked perfectly. The fruit served with our breakfast was also fresh.
I do wish that there would be more seating, however the quality is so high you can’t complain. Once it gets too big I would worry the quality would go down.

Break ‘n Eggs is undoubtably the premier breakfast joint in buffalo. I know all the guys there, as I work at the restaurant next door. Which means from time to time I get the occasional treat or two from those darling crepeologists. This will be a collection of most everything I’ve had there.
First speaking, I can’t stress this enough.
There will be a line, and you will have to wait. And wait you will! Because it is worth the wait. What are you gonna do, go to McDonalds? Shame on you. Wait for your breakfast. These guys, actually care!
Service is always smiley, and very helpful. Willing to accommodate to your order. Today, I had a custom omelet. Which isn’t on the menu, but I built off the cheddar Omelet. Added Swiss and Caramelized onions. Delicious!
I’ve literally never seen such a gorgeous omelet in my life. Bursting at the seems with two cheeses and heaps of Caramelized onions. Yet everything is in tact, very beautiful, with no color on the omelet. Which is a big deal people!

Comes with a side of home fries potatoes. Which… are so unique and spiced really well. Herby and slightly spicy. Sooooo yummy, I’d love to know what goes on there.
The Pain Perdu is also amazing. I will go and give it my seal of Buffalo’s best French toast. VERY authentic French in that regard. Huge portion of 4 pieces of thick slices baguette. Drowned in real grade A Amber Maple Syrup. And topped with this beautiful jewel of Strawberry butter, with a bit of orange zest.
The key of course, is to ask for 2 strawberry butters… dangerously good.
Then I’ve had the special Carrot Cake Pancakes. Which were awesome. Thin and crispy edges, with that dense cakey-​ness we all love from a great pancake. Flavored with Carrot, allspice and nutmeg. Topped with this bourbon-​maple cream cheese butter that… I really need to figure out how to replace my blood with…
They also have authentic pea meal bacon. Which… if you never had, I suggest you do. Though may corrupt bacon for you… forever…
So yeah. This little place is pretty rockin. And like I said, Bob and his guys care about every crêpe, every pancake, every cup of coffee that leaves that kitchen. It’s no wonder that local celebrities choose this as their go to breakfast spot!

Break’n eggs is a breakfast/​brunch restaurant that specialises in crêpe dishes. Yes it’s only open until 3pm daily, but do not let that stop you from trying it.
I recently dined here on a Wednesday morning. Despite it being not only a work day but also the first day back at school for kids, this place was still packed. We had a small wait before being seated and were quickly asked our drink order. I just stuck with water.
The menu offers a wide variety of crepes to choose from including dessert style sweetness. I love seafood and eggs benedict so I was very excited to see the crab benedict crepes! Rather than an English muffin, the egg and crab were served on adorable little crepes. It was also served with a side of fresh fruit and seasoned potatoes. It was all delicious. I only wish there had been more than 2 crepes.
My companions both found their food excellent. It was a little pricey for breakfast though. However, I think this is a great little gem of a breakfast spot.

Be sure to get here early as it gets packed pretty quickly. When my bf and I decided to check this place out, the line was out the door. Fortunately, we were only a table for two so although we were told the wait would be 25 min… we ended up being seated in no time.
Definitely be sure to get the freshly squeezed orange juice as it tastes really good. As my entrée, I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict which was tasty. It was a tad bit under seasoned, but the eggs were poached perfectly and the crab cakes were delicious. I wasn’t a huge fan of the potatoes though. It was flavorful but just didn’t have that crunch factor that I like in my breakfast potatoes.
Portion sizes are pretty good here for the price paid. I didn’t try the crepes… which is what this place is known for. But looking at my neighbors orders, it looked pretty good.
Maybe I’ll come back next time to try the crepes out!!!

This place is seriously amazing. There is nowhere else that even compares to what they do. It’s kind of small, so if you’re going for breakfast try to be early so you can get a table.
Their crepes are out of this world. Also, I had their stuffed French toast with Nutella and bananas and I swear I died and went to heaven.
All of the staff is so friendly and they seem to genuinely enjoy working there, which is a refreshing change of pace for all the crabby waiters and waitresses out there. Your service is much appreciated.

I am so disappointed!
Usually my Unilocal friends are spot on with recommendations, but this one really just fell through for Lee and I. We’re pretty breakfasty and brunchy people, and I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while.
So, pretty busy Sunday brunch time. There were a few people waiting around in the area, and there seemed to be no host station near the front at all. We were pretty baffled how to put our names down, so I poked my head inside the dining room to see if anyone was not busy. It took a few minutes before a waitress noticed us and then found the list. We weren’t the only ones with this problem — at least 3 people asked us how to sign in while we were waiting.
So, about a 30 minute wait, not surprising, really. Once we were seated, we were served promptly and pleasantly. Both Lee and I decided to go for the Eggs Benedict crêpe.
In my head, I pictured a small or medium crêpe with poached eggs and hollandaise. What we got were tiny little crepelets that seemed more like decoration than something meant to serve eggs on. The Hollandaise was … weird. It was both bland and incredibly peppery, thin in consistency and a little vinegary. I swear there was a use of hot paprika which was an unwelcome element.
The home fries were similarly overpeppered, and un-​done in places. I will say that the fruit was a very nice touch, fresh and in season.
I asked Lee what he thought and he was almost angry. «We waited 30 minutes for this?» he said. It put him in a bad mood for a good chunk of the day. It was just a really disappointing experience. I am not sure if it was just bad luck for us, or that expectations were set to high, or what. But unless there’s a change in circumstance, we definitely won’t be returning.

This is definitely the most crowded breakfast and brunch house I’ve ever experienced. The line forms earlier than the opening hour and the wait begins and lasts until closing time. I can say it is worth the wait even if it is more than an hour!
Crepes are made fresh in front of you while the servers are right on top of their game. The dining area is small and cozy with fresh flowers on every table. It smells amazingly delicious inside and I like being able to see everything the chefs do in their open kitchen. The service and quality of food is phenomenal. No wonder why they are always crowded weekday/​weekend day. The con is the small parking area but if you’re willing to make it past that and the wait time you won’t regret it! It might be a good idea to carpool with your friends due to the limited parking space! Service is warm and friendly and does not seem like they are rushing you out the door even if it is a full house.

This was the final place I tried on my short trip to Buffalo. It was an amazing cap to a short vacation. The place is jam packed, but we we’re able to be seated within 15 minutes of the lunch/​brunch hour. There is plenty of space, with an open kitchen where you can watch the magic of crêpe making. Also it smells amazing in restaurant.
My dad is a pretty touch critic … he literally believes he can make anything at a restaurant better. But he has never had a crêpe before. We got a savory steak crêpe, and a savory crab cake «crêpe» benedict dish. The steak was amazing as medium rare, the blueberry sauce was amazing, and the crêpe itself was light and delightful, the salad was also tasty. The crab cakes were so refreshing with it being lightly fried and its cute mini pancrepes :]. The homestyle potatoes had the perfect amount of crisp and crunch. And the fruit provided were so fresh.
The waitress and employees themselves are so kind. The waitress convinced me to get a dessert crêpe, do i regret it? NOT AT ALL. It was a delicious dulce de leche? will idk if thats the name but it was a caramel apple crêpe with candied walnuts … it was packed with apples, loaded with walnuts and topped generiously with caramel and whipped creame. This was the second best sweet crêpe I’ve had ever, gonna have to find a friend/​car/​bus/​cab/​über? to take me here when i move in the fall

My friend brought me to this place and warned me about the wait so I felt it wasn’t too bad. 15 minutes for a table for two on Saturday brunch didn’t seem too bad. Parking was tricky though because it was a small place.
I had the crab cakes eggs benny while my friend had the salmon eggs benny. I felt like the portions were a little small for the price but I suppose if you’re the only place that offers such dishes, you can do that. Both dishes tasted really yummy, although the capers on the salmon did add a little too much salt. Lucky you can just brush some off!
We also tried the oreos crêpe for dessert and that was great until we reached the center where it became way too sweet. I feel like up until that point, it was just the oreos cookie and it was fantastic. Then we got to the center where there was a gooey mess of the frosting that was overpowering. But to be far, I am very picky with sweets.
All in all, I will come back, just not when I’m famished!
