As casinos go, I’ve visited many better. Turtle Creek is fine. Most of the dealers were pretty friendly. The clientele consists of mostly Northern Michigan hillbilly-​types.
I appreciated being able to play $ 10 blackjack. It was kinda weird when my girlfriend and I wanted to keep playing, but the pit boss shut the table down, saying he didn’t have relief for his dealer.
The roulette wheel was abandoned under a plastic cover.
The blackjack tables are weirdly designed, so if you’re sitting on the end, your chips are kinda far away. I didn’t like that at all.
Most of the chairs are worn and torn.
Though I was at the blackjack table for maybe 4 hours, a waitress only came by twice to collect drink orders.
When we arrived, the free valet service was not available. People were taking shuttles out to the parking lot.
Turtle Creek is probably much better when all the amenities and games are up and running.

Casino: I liked that there were a few $ 5 blackjack tables on a Saturday night — seem to be hard to find in Michigan & Vegas now. Dealers were all personable and knowledgeable. Servers were attentive to BJ tables. Beer specials an added bonus. Also played a little video poker. Nice and new-​looking casino that has the feel of a larger casino. Turtle Creek must have a decent ventilation system because not super smoky until sitting at BJ tables with smokers, which tends to be unavoidable anywhere unfortunately.
Deli: Great service despite a long line at 1am. Had slice if pizza and was good quality.
Hotel: Great customer service and clean room. Bed was comfortable. Very reasonably priced and you can get 10% off with your Players Card.
Cannot wait to go back!

I am only speaking about the buffet. On a tuesday night, the absolutely worst food ever. We went there last Tuesday and had dinner. The chicken was cold and dry and tasted like banquet frozen chicken. Everything else was inedible… cold…old…dry…or mush… and for 41.95? What do you get? Try and get a tough piece of meat carved for you… you wait forever and they only bring out little pieces at a time to cut. Green bean casserole? Scallopped potatoes? Really? For 41.95? I would make sure you eat first as the deli is over priced and awful, as well. Go there to gamble if you choose to… but don’t bother eating there. One thing, though… their mashed potatoes and gravy… hard to find, but were really good… salad bar… regular salad, coleslaw and potato salad and mac salad… nothing special… not a piece of decent fish… fried cod was greasy… horrible…can’t find enough words… bad food and huge cost… really make me mad.

Pizza was great for a late night snack, and I liked the game variety. However, I was disappointed that the room didn’t have a fridge or microwave, which is commonplace nowadays. Also, the staff wasn’t exactly very friendly either. I had a better time at Leelenau Sands.

Craps and blackjack are good at this casino due to low minimums. Don’t play slots. I put 200 into two machines and never got up once. That 200 lasted maybe 20 minutes. I won a few spins here or there but the payout was less than the cost of a spin.

Beautiful hotel room– updated and clean and staff brought extra towels quickly upon my request. Fastest elevator ever going to the hotel room! The room service prices are a good value compared to other places. $ 8 for an egg breakfast with sausage and bacon, toast, and potatoes. I wish there was a pool.
Casino is big and quite nice although I wish there was more than one roulette table.

Don’t bother with the players club if you go a lot. I go all the time and my rewards club offers keep getting smaller… people come twice a year get certs in the mail for free meals and play!

Aesthetically it’s definitely one of the nicer casinos in northern MI. It has a «real» casino feel to it for sure. Agree with what some of the other people have said… a lack of table games. I feel like most of the casinos around are similar. They’re making their money of the slot machines. Guess you can’t really blame them. Would still be nice to have a few more options.

Surprisingly nice casino! We went on a whim while vacationing in the area this winter and ended up staying for several hours (past our bedtime even!). While a large portion of the place is slot machines, they do have table games. Poker, black jack, let it ride, etc. Also exactly ONE roulette table and ONE crabs table (correction: there are TWO of each, the others just weren’t open when we were there). Which was good enough for us. I did have to wait a bit to get a seat playing roulette, the table filled up and emptied at a nice pace with most players staying around 30 minutes.
Non-​alcoholic drinks were free but alcohol was overpriced. Bright side: cocktail service to the tables was reliably fast. In 3 hours I got about 6 or 7 drinks.
One thing that wasn’t fast? The dealers. So they’re not Vegas dealers, you kind of have to adjust. At roulette it wasn’t as much of a hindrance as craps. Regular craps players (like my husband) do NOT like to wait forever between rolls while you figure out how to pay out bets.
Overall, we’d go back in a heartbeat if we were in the area. Straight comparison wise it was on par with Firekeeper’s in Battle Creek and nicer than the low-​end Vegas casinos (Imperial, Sahara, CircusCircus, etc).

My husband and I have quickly noticed there isn’t much to do in Traverse City after 10pm. Thankfully, this casino is exists. I have to say while it’s small, it is very nice! When we parked the car, there is a shuttle that drives you right up to the front. We ate at a restaurant in there called The Deli, which was good and I also wrote a review on it. There were a decent amount of slots to play, as well as a poker room and other table games. There is a bar called Level 3 as well. The casino appeared to be very clean and put together; this is great considering some Detroit casinos are filthy. Overall, we enjoyed our time and came home with more money than we started. That said, its worth checking out if you’re in the area and don’t have much to do after hours.

I’ve been here several time and I feel that this place is really hit and miss. It has 3 restaurants: a deli, a buffet, and a nice sit down (which is closed on Tuesdays). It has 2 craps tables and 2 roulette tables (although I’ve only seen one of each open at a time but I’ve never been here on a weekend). I like a $ 3.00 craps table, and they have them! The crew is usually very friendly. Drink service $ 4.25 for well drinks ($ 5.00 for call) is spotty at best. Some nights they are very on, and others might take you over 45 minutes between getting a drink (I guess it depends on the server).
However, the slots are loose, and we always seem to do pretty well here. As always, craps tables depend on your shooter, but the crew and people are friendly (and the crew is helpful)! Roulette, often very crowded here, but that’s what you get with a $ 1.00 table minimum, and a fun loving crowd. I don’t play card games so I can’t tell you much… but there are lots of blackjack tables, and other card games, and a poker room!
I enjoy it… so it gets 4 stars!

Not enough table games: blackjack, ultimate hold-​em, and 4 card poker. Waitresses never came around on a slow weekday. I expect to lose money but I also expect to get a buzz. Service needs to improve.

Nice casino but very smokey. Poker room is small and most tables are for tournaments at night. You can register for tournaments up to a week in advance.
Only one craps table. 10x odds. About three BJ tables, looks like an 8-​deck shoe. Mostly slots.

It was cold and rainy so we decided to check this casino out. First mention is the parking lot… it could be improved. As we drove around we actually debated leaving because it was raining sideways and the walk from the car to the building was pretty far. Yeah, they have shuttles but do you have to stand in the rain waiting for one? Seems a parking garage connected to the casino would make much more sense (that is how all the casinos in Chicago area are set up).
Second mention is smoking. Smoking is allowed inside? I am pretty sensitive to smoke so this turned me off right away. Luckily we didn’t stay long but smoking inside just seemed odd to me since you don’t see that anymore.
Third, we were scared off from using the ATM from the other Unilocal reviews. ATM skimmers, fraudulent charges? No thanks! I’m not sure if this is still happening, but just reading about it on here made me cautious.
Aesthetically the place reminds me of a casino in Vegas… minus the cigarette smoking… bleck!

The Hotel is nice enough, room seemed pretty clean which is always a good thing. I like the hair dryer that wasn’t attached in the bathroom & the portable light up mirror — makes it easy when multiple people are getting ready at the same time.
Shower kind of sucked. I have really thick hair & I spent the day feeling like I didn’t get all of the shampoo/​conditioner out of it. Mos def could have used some more pressure on the water.
A friend accidentally left an item in her room and since I stayed in the area and she went further North they let me go back & get it for her. I was glad they looked for it and found it, much appreciated.
Not being much of a gambler I was surprised to walk in and be overwhelmed with the smell of smoke. Guess I am used to smoking not being allowed anywhere these days. The hallway for our room even smelled like cigarette smoke but luckily the room did not!

ATM Card Skimming is going on at this casino. Either someone on surveillance is selling card numbers + pins or someone installed a camera on the machine. Judging by the fact that a casino has a ton of cameras in it, and someone would be caught installing a skimmer on the machines… Sounds like surveillance is having a field day with peoples’ cards.
