Southern Pancake & Waffle

Best breakfast ever!!! Got The Works, it came with a waffle, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage links & your choice of home fried potatoes or grits. OMG! So much food! Everything was cooked to perfection! The waffle was crunchy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside! I wish we lived closer — I would come here everyday! Our waitress Kecia was awesome! We were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Everyone here was very friendly. I wish there were more places like this where we live.

Food was just ok. Waitress was friendly. Cashier was rude. Do not see myself returning.

Second time here and always a treat. Service is outstanding. Came with my wife after Christmas and the place was packed, but you would have never known with the quick service and attention. Food is delicious and you won’t leave hungry. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions. Would recommend this place to anyone who visits the area with their significant and/​or children.

Traditional Southern breakfast favorites, very friendly staff, good service. They let me order a combination not on the menu: fried catfish and waffle, which was great! Coffee is served by giving you your own pot. They have a Richmond newspaper available to read. no TV. booth or table seating, no counter. Wide variety of pancakes, waffles, and omelettes to choose from. They serve lunch also. I think Williamsburg must have more pancake houses per capita than any other city on Earth

I normally am not a breakfast person, but this place is awesome! Their home fries are amazing. Customer service is top-​notch! My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles, which looked amazing, and from the his reaction, the taste was just the same. We will definitely come again! I have a feeling he will make this 2.5 hr drive for the chicken and waffles again soon!

The food was delicious!
I had the Greek omelette and my boyfriend had the meat omelette. We both loved it as well as the home fries. It was a bit more expensive than other breakfast places in the area but the portions were large so it made up for it.
It was weird how a breakfast place right next door had a packed parking lot, but this place only had 2 tables of people, almost completely empty. That didn’t give me a good feeling and it was so quiet in there too. There was no music or radio on so everything that was said in the kitchen was heard in the dining area. That’s the only thing I would change about this place.

Pretty good for the usual pancake houses in Williamsburg. The food was tasty and fast. The line goes out the door most days, so get there earlY!

Wow! I had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was delicious! I’m not sure it was worth the $ 13.99, but it was good. The waffle could of been hotter. The taste was good. My daughter had an apple waffle it looked good and she said it was. My youngest had the pancake and bacon she was thrilled there were two pancakes and whipped cream! My husband indulged in the corn beef hash, eggs and grits. The hash was canned, the grits were good and the eggs were cooked perfect. Overall, I would be back. Although I would like to come back forget the waffle and have just the chicken.

Had a great experience there this morning. Staff super friendly great atmosphere and food was very good and reasonably priced

We came here for breakfast on a Sunday. Fortunately we made it in between church services, so we were sat quickly. Food was inexpensive and in large quantity, home cooked and delicious. Forget IHOP, this has that small town diner feel with all the charm!
Friendly service, our food came out quickly and we were in and out within an hour with full bellies and full wallets too! Definitely a good option for breakfast or brunch any day of the week!

This was such a gem!!! The nice lady who sat us immediately reminded me of gramps. We were so hungry and the menu was so extensive that we couldn’t decide on what to eat. I asked the waiter how the sausage and gravy was, and he went and got it for me to taste. I was sold! My friends got: chicken and waffles, chocolate pancakes, and corned hash omelet with home fries.
Sausage gravy over biscuits was absolutely delicious! It was our favorite hands down. The chocolate pancakes were just regular pancakes with chocolate chips on top, which was a slight letdown. We thought they’d be in the batter. The corned hash omelet was not a hit. The chicken and waffles were amazing as well.
Service by this chocolate older man, I can’t remember his name, was superb! He made the experience so memorable and we will plan on visiting again. My friend, who lives in Williamsburg, plans on being a regular. Just in case you are worried about saving your hard earned pennies, everything on the menu was between $ 4.99 (sausage gravy & biscuits) to $ 12.99.

This is definitely the breakfast spot! The food was delicious and the service was great! Our waitress Angel was an angel! When we got there, there was no wait to be seated. As soon as we sat down our waitress was right there to welcome us. The food came out quickly as well. I had a sweet tea and chicken and waffles and OMG it was the best I have ever had! Definitely must go and try this place out!

Took advice from online reviews and was not disappointed. Had the chicken and waffles… awesome. The kids got hot chocolate with their meals and our waitress really hooked it up with whipped cream and sprinkles. We (the old folks) were jealous!
Very affordable and something for everyone. Next time plan to try the fried catfish and waffles. The pics looked amazing.

Our server was an older gentleman with a wonderful personality! The food was good… choose links over patties (over cooked — but dry)!!

Went here based on the other reviews and was underwhelmed.
The first hitch was waiting almost 25 minutes for our food in a party of 5. Once the food came out, the temperatures ranged from cold to barely lukewarm with the exception of a side of corned beef hash which was steaming hot like it had been just taken off the griddle. Eggs, pancakes, waffles, and worst yet the sausage biscuits and gravy were all cold. With the sausage gravy there were pockets of lukewarm and cold in the same bite, which is an odd sensation when eating. With the extended wait for the food, I can only guess it was prepared and sat on the serving line for several minutes before being brought out to us.
The food was delicious, excellent flavor, and if it hadn’t been for the food temperature issue the meal would have been close to perfect.
The waitress forgot an order of eggs, but after finally tracking her down was quickly fixed and the eggs came out piping hot.
This would have easily been a solid 4 stars, again had it not been for the serving temperatures.

I would definitely recommend this among the umpteen pancake and waffle houses on Richmond road. You have to understand the genre of the old school pancake house. If you do, this is just right. If you’re looking for something else, this isn’t your place.
My 12-​year-​old son had the Belgian waffle. Now (a) he’s a pre-​teen, so he’s starting to eat prodigious quantities of food. (b) we live in England, where portion sizes like this are unheard of. He was ready to order a waffle AND a side of pancakes. I encouraged him to start with a Belgian waffle and promised to order more food if he was still hungry. Fast forward 10 minutes and he’s finished his plate. His comment to me: «Dad, I want to eat more. But my body is telling me I can’t.» I said «son, that’s called being ‘full’. You don’t experience that a lot, as a preteen living in London.»
To any other English folks who might happen through: remember that they don’t understand hot tea in this part of the country. I’m sorry.

Out of the 12 million Pancake houses in Williamsburg that you’ll pass during your time there, PICK THIS ONE!
This is a fantastic diner with great friendly, quick service! We all ordered pretty traditional orders, but the kids gobbled down their pancakes so quickly you’d have thought they were candy! All orders came out cooked perfectly, which is sometimes challenging with eggs over easy.
I was a little disappointed with the grits… pretty sure they were most likely instant, which is not what I’d expect from a «Southern» breakfast place. They do have a variety of dishes on the menu like the traditional chicken and waffles and they have a number of dishes paired with cat fish too.
When we return to Williamsburg, we’ll have breakfast here again!

This is all you need to know:
Get the friend catfish. Ask for hot sauce.
If you don’t like fish, get the chicken and waffles.
If you don’t eat meat, get the pancakes.
Personally, next time I go, I’m going to force everyone at the table to order the catfish and chicken and waffles. They were that good. Everything else was OK, but those two dishes were spectacular.

Rainy Saturday morning eating breakfast with the family and decided to check out this place that I have been hearing about so much. Nice place for a busy area of Williamsburg.
I had the chicken and waffles. I was surprised that the chicken was well seasoned and the waffles were golden brown and soft inside. We also had bacon omelet and wasn’t season but tasted okay.
The best part was the staff. Bridget is the best. Warm and very friendly and the owner was very pleasant as well. I will try the catfish and grits next visit along with a few things that also caught my eye.
