Sonic Drive-In

I’ve been to many Sonic locations and have never had a bad experience until today. Pull in to find less than half the stalls filled. Pushed the button to order, and waited 8 minutes with no answer while I watched someone else pull up, press their button and have an answer right away. Finally got tired of the wait so drove to the drive through. I started asking for a chocolate shake, and was asked if it was chocolate or vanilla. Then asked for a corn dog, and was asked if it was a corn dog or hot dog. After getting asked questions like this for the fifth item I just had to leave. No wonder only half the stalls had cars there!

Disgusting. I found what definitely looked like a pubic hair on my chicken tender. Also, even though there was a line in the drive through all of the food tasted old and stale. Never again.

I don’t know why I keep going here. I am disappointed every time. I don’t think they have ever gotten an order right. This time I asked for a mint shake and got something that I can’t even describe the actual flavor. I don’t think they could get it together to give me a cup of water without putting a hotdog in it or something. Monkeys with brain tumors could do better, idiots.

Ummm Sonic… yum! They did wear roller skates too! The did was good and the location was clean and right next to Walmart. The kids meals have the option for apples which we love. They also have delicious drinks, shakes, –ades…yum.

Spacious Sonic located just outside Great Wolf Lodge. I rarely miss a chance to get a cherry limeade! Service was fast and friendly. Don’t miss Happy Hour from 2 – 4 pm = half price drinks!

Absolutely terrible food this time. Cold fries, cold burgers, hotdog not Made correctly (missing onions). Picnic tables outside were sticky and gross. We were all incredibly disappointed!

Broke down and came to Sonic for kids. Understaffed, and person who took my order had to repeat and adjust 4 times! This place has fallen way down on the quick stop list!

I’ve always had a pleasant experience at the Sonics I’ve been. This had quick service and friendly people. The restroom was relatively clean too. This Sonic is conveniently located next to a super Walmart, so if you’ve forgotten some things for your road trip, like I did, it was great to pop over and buy incidentals and random snacks.

This particular sonic always has an issue with wait time. Typically it takes about 15 min to get food (on a good day) and I have in the past waited upwards of 25 min for a soda. But the food is decent and the drinks always excellent. Today, however, the food was awful. The fries were greasy and room temperature and my chicken sandwich had old, wilted, slimy, brown lettuce on it. It was truly gross. I have made a point in the past of only getting my drink at sonic and getting my food somewhere else… and I think I’m going to return to that.

When you are in a 30 foot RV, and the choices for dining are McDonalds, Burger King or Sonic, then Sonic wins! We need these 50’s style drive-​up food places in the NOVA area… why are they only south of us??? This location was a ²⁴⁄₇ stop, and served as our go-​to immediate-​fix food stop! Since we were in an RV, we could not take advantage of the drive up service, but there was a huge parking area for our moving house. We walked up to the ‘inter-​com’, placed our orders, and a ‘skater’ came to deliver our food with a smile on their face! It doesn’t get any better than that at 10pm at night!
The food was typical fast food, I honestly can’t tell the difference between McDonalds, Burger, and Sonic… fries are fries, and burgers are burgers… but this place has ‘tots’. They were yummy! They also have an assortment of shakes that my niece/​nephew really enjoyed!

I love Sonic. This was the first one I ever ate at (many moons ago) ad I still come back. The service is always friendly and quick. This particular location has a TON of tables which is great if you want to get out of your car (just don’t park in the bays if you plan to eat at a table during the busiest part of the season).
My only complaint (and this is for all Sonics), it is impossible to read the menu from the passenger side of the vehicle. Betwixt the angle, glare and small print it is nearly impossible. While the ads on the back of the signs might entice some folks to try the desserts that are advertised, it would be a great place to put some of your (higher priced — from an advertising POV) regular meal options so that I could decide what I wanted without having to crawl into the driver’s lap. Oh and update the menus when things are removed. I was seriously disappointed to discover Pickle-o’s were no longer available but still on the menu.

When my husband and I are in the area, we always try to make a pit-​stop here before we go back on the road. I always get their Cherry Limeade — it is so refreshing with its crushed ice, sparkling lemon/​lime soda with cherry syrup. I also get their mozzerella cheese sticks to munch on as well. The locations of Sonic’s are kind of rare, so whenever I see them on the highway rest stops, I always make it a mission to get the drink! It’s a Drive-​In, where you park your car at a slot, order by pressing the button, you swipe the card, and then servers on roller skates come out and deliver your food. You can either eat in the car with the tray danging from your window, or you can take it to go.

Seriously didn’t want to give Sonic 2 stars but they left me no choice. The two stars are solely for the food. My mozzarella sticks were pretty tasty. We went there two days this week and was overcharged both times. We asked the lady if we could substitute mozzarella sticks for my fries and she told me that I could. Same thing with another meal but onion rings instead of fries and she also said yes. We also got shakes and iced tea. When we went up to the window to pay, she told us our total was $ 34 and some change. Since it was only three of us we were puzzled as to why it cost so much. We checked our bill and she charged us separate for the mozzarella sticks and onion rings which were almost $ 6 each for a large. We told the lady that we were charged separately for the mozzarella sticks and onion rings since she said we could substitute them, then she caught an attitude and said that we couldn’t do that. She clearly told us through the speaker box thing that we could! We were hungry and frustrated so we just paid and left. Never again will I go back to this Sonic. They really need to train their employees better.

This is based just on drinks. They were good except my lemon berry had far too many strawberry chucks.

The food was good if you like average cheeseburgers, hot dogs and fries — there are competitors who never freeze their beef who do this better. However, the service was fast and the limeades and slushes were the best I have ever had at any Sonic — this was enough to bump the rating up a star.

Good place to come eat fairly clean and all the shopping malls next to it.

Pretty standard sonic but some really great employees. We were sitting out in the picnic area with our dog and skated all the way over and checked on us later. My large tots were not filled the well and he brought us some more for free. I never know if you are supposed to tip them but we did in this case.
Problem was after having chickfila a few days earlier the extra crispy nuggets were weak and tasted like the frozen Tyson’s ones. And as many drinks as they haw on the menu not really much of a variety of food. I wish I had chosen the pretzel dog and saved a few bucks and had some good toppings.

Wouldn’t go back. First time eating here and we got four hotdogs. All four were incorrectly with toppings we didn’t ask for.
Service was slow it took two attempts to order as ½ way through ordering they said «hold on a second» waiting five minutes I pushed the order button again and we started over with the order.
Seemed to take 10 min to bring four hotdogs. They were not good at all, we tossed them and drive to chick-​fil-​a and had a good meal.

First time to a Sonic and it was beyond DISAPPOINTING… where do i even start???
Went through the drive-​thru since there were no spots available for drive-​up & park orders. That in itself was a disaster. The person who took our order asked us to drive forward and wait… and wait we did… and waited… and waited… and… 15 minutes later, they figured out they owed us some food that we paid for.
Server brought out our food, no drinks. Didn’t realize that they were suppose to give them to us when we paid. SInce we were holding up the line, we told the server we were going to park and to bring our drinks to us. We showed him the FIRST spot directly in front of where we were. Again… we waited and waited and oh… and waited. I finally got out and walked up the server’s door to get our drinks. When I got back to the car, I found out that one of the three burgers we ordered didn’t have the actual burger patty in it. That’s a first and on top of it, didn’t have the tater tots we ordered. AGAIN… I walked up to the service door. Told them we were missing a burger patty and the tater tots. This time, I told them I would wait right were I was. They came out in a few minutes and handed me a bag. It had the burger but NO TATER TOTS. How difficult can this be, seriously?
When I finally had the chance to sit down and eat, I found that the regular sized chili cheese fries I ordered were nothing but that… they were 8 dried up, cold fries (yes, i counted) stuck to the bottom of the paper dish w/​hard cheese.
As for the bathrooms? NASTY, NASTY, NASTY. Did I mention NASTY? It was so bad, I made my husband take us back to Great Wolf Lodge to use the bathrooms even though we had just checked out.
So for my first experience at Sonic, it was the worse. Great commercials. Terrible service. Hoping that other ones will be better but I definitely will NOT be returning to this one and I strongly urge others to find somewhere else to eat. Don’t waste your time or money on this establishment. It’s clear that the owners and management don’t care.
Giving one star only because I don’t have the option of not giving any.
