Residence Inn Williamsburg

We have stayed here on more than one occasion we are Marriott Platinum Elite customers which obviously does not mean a whole lot anymore. We asked for a room near the door and not wanting a handicap room as we are not handicap bit do travel with a service dog, we were placed in one. It was not comfortable for us and it was filthy. The first time we stayed here we had issues with them not changing the bedding after the last customer as we checked out on a Friday and checked back in on Monday and the mascara that I had gotten on the comforter was still there. And there was others in the room after us because we had to wait for the room to be ready. So not the cleanest! We returned here because that is where my husbands work prefers us to stay. Our room is nasty and getting towels, tissue etc is terrible! Here are a few pics of our room when we walked in the door. If this is a 4 star I really hate to see anything less! If you are going to stay here you may want to inspect your room first! The tv and internet are terrible too! It is in a good location and great place for walking your pet.
Ok the fire alarm came on and we just went outside for a good 20 minutes in the cold at 1:41 am. I know this is no fault to the hotel staff but you would at least expect someone out there checking on people and handing out a blanket or two and letting people know what was going on. Then when it was time to go back in, a nice guest in his jammies was telling people it was ok, no one from the staff even came out to inform everyone. Marriott is dropping the ball with this location!

Gross. Turned down the bed a few minutes after checkin at 11 o’clock at night and it was FULL of what looked like dog hair all along the side of the sheets. Called the front desk and told them and asked for the bed to be made up and they said they’d send sheets up for me to make the bed. NOT what I’d expect for a $ 200 stay! Seriously? And there was no bedding for the fold out couch, which we needed, so that had to be brought up. And we had 2 adults and 2 children and they were kind enough to only provide 3 sets of towels, but by the time we noticed they had already been up to our room twice so we just shared towels. No idea what the rest of the hotel is like – all I can think about right now is whether the rest of the room is clean or if my daughter is sleeping in someone else’s dirty sheets…

We stayed here for Valentine’s Day weekend and enjoyed every minute of it. When we checked in, the front desk worker was very friendly and personable. He made us feel comfortable and like a valuable customer. Our room was a suite with a King sized bedroom and had sitting area and a kitchen area. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We couldn’t hear the people next to us which is always nice. The breakfast wasn’t that great, but it was free so it’s a hard to complain too much. We’d definitely stay here again in we are back in Williamsburg.

I love the area it is located in… tons of things to do and the Outlet Malls are just down the street… literally! I did not like how they tried to change my room that was reserved a month in advance but my attitude helped adjust that back to what it was supposed to be. I was gifted a free 2 night stay and they tried to treat me differently than other guests who paid out of pocket. I refused to be treated differently since payment was made for the room one way or another. That really pissed me off so it gets 3 stars just for location because breakfast was horrible. It did not affect me too much because I brought the crock-​pot along for the trip and had meals ready to go when we returned to the room. It has a kitchen equipped with all of the cooking essentials so cooking was easy. With the location being a plus, I would def stay there again because of the Outlets and pricing of the rooms.

Just stayed here for the weekend with our 3 daughters and puppy! We were in town for a soccer tournament. Had a 1 bedroom (2 queens) suite with large living room (L shaped pull out) and full kitchen. Full hot breakfast is included… Eggs, sausage, French toast, Belgium waffles etc… FREE.
Stayed for $ 99/​night — clean, great location on Richmond Rd — staff was amazing! Grounds were great wooded paths for running or walking…

clean, neat, cozy place to stay with family members. near by colonial williamsburg and the premium mall. staffs are also very kind and professional.

Strange when I want to steal decorating ideas from a hotel room. But that’s how chic I feel like the upgrade at the Residence Inn was. Two walls in the room were painted a bold color, and while I’m no interior designer and can’t begin to describe how modern and clean everything was, I can assure you it almost felt like a boutique hotel and not a Marriott chain.
Stepping outside of my room, I was slapped back to reality. Tiny hallways. Fighting for space with large unruly pets. No real lobby, in my eyes. And the ceiling was so low. Yeah, everything else was sorta motel like.
This is a nice Marriott… motel.

I love Marriott hotels, especially the Residence Inns because of the spacious room/​LR combo. The staff here was VERY friendly from check in — to breakfast — to checkout. The room was clean and nicely decorated.
The only thing about my room is on the couch it had a lot of hair stands. Maybe the housekeeper should do a quick vacuum over the couches after each check outs. My hubby had hair all over his sweater. If I wasn’t with him & he came home from his work travel with hair on him, it would be TROUBLE! So to avoid any troubles in happy homes, they should vacuum the couches.
Breakfast that consisted of pancakes, sausage, scrabble eggs, oatmeal, Danishes and waffles wasn’t good. Some of the items was cold even though there was a burner underneath. It’s a hit and miss at these free breakfast. The Only Marriott that I had good breakfast was in DC.
The hotel is very convenient to restaurants, shops and the outlet.

Check in was fast and easy, Sal was very friendly and welcoming. The room was really nice and spacious, just like a studio apartment. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Almost everything was clean and neat. My only complaint would be the tub had some grains of sand in it and it drained really slow. Hubby took the stopper out to find 50 shades of nastiness stopping it up. We also had to tighten the legs on the kitchen table in order to use it.

The rooms were fine, and it’s great that they accept pets. Our main problems: key cards kept failing abd we had to ask for toilet paper several times. Sorry, but one roll of toilet paper is not going to last with 4 adults and 5 kids! Also, kind of sad they won’t serve bacon on their breakfast buffet. I was told it was «against their standards,» whatever that means. Wi-​Fi was free, but after 5 devices signed on, we had to ask for new passwords.

One of the updated residence inns and we had a good stay. Plenty of room in the one bedroom with two queens and a closed door plus room for a sofa sleeper and air mattress in the other room. Two flat screens and other facilities upgraded as well. Like all residence inns they have a fully stocked kitchen and dinner table. Great for a family and near everything you need. They even offer some Marriott elite member deals.
