Absolutely hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been at great food and service as well as great location

This place is my favorite restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The food is on point. Every time I go, the chef and owner, Cono, creates the most different and amazing dishes. You are never let down. The specials are truly special. You must stop there if you’re in Brooklyn or even if you need to travel there. The staff, especially the manager, Adrian, is also a big part of the experience. He is extremely welcoming and the ambiance is very inviting. The bar is beautiful and the drinks are fabulous– the bartenders, Dave and Val, make your experience memorable. The waiter, Alex, is knowledgeable and very friendly and makes your dining experience a great one. You will absolutely return. Definitely a must in Williamsburg!

First time coming here today and I loved it. We celebrated Father’s Day here and I’m so happy we picked this place. The seafood ravioli was out of this world and the pear salad was just right for this warm day. The décor is romantic and intimate. The service was quick my waiter was great. I would definitely come back here.

Went here late on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is beautiful and it also has an outdoor eating area if interested in that. We sat inside, we were immediately greeted by the friendly manager who gave us a very good seat by the window. The waitress and bus boy were very accommodating. I was able to order my favorite caprese salad although it was not on the menu, it was far from disappointing. The complimentary bread with spicy pamadoro sauce delicious. My husband ate two baskets of the bread by himself and later regretted it but said it was well worth him feeling overly full. I had the skirt steak which was superb and my husband had a pasta dish which he wolfed down. Everything was delicious. Definitely will be returning

Bad experience here. For a nice place… Their food is good but service is terrible. I had an incident with my food it spilled on the floor and they charged me for a second dish. The manager really has no idea what he’s doing. I wouldn’t recommend going here if you are looking for a place with good vibes

Great spot in Williamsburg for all types of dinning. Whether it’s date night, a family gathering, or brunch, La Nonna is the spot. Super cute décor! They have outdoor seating in the warmer weather as well. The portions here are very generous and the food is delightful. The staff is super courteous and friendly too! If you need a phone charger, they will let you charge at the hostess stand. There’s a parking garage around the corner on N 5th and you can walk around the waters edge on the board walk. Great views of NYC. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is beautiful and in a great location. Food is ok. It wasn’t special but good. The ravioli repieni, fried ravioli stuffed with Filet Mignon was pretty good. I would have liked it if the truffle sauce was just a drizzle. It was a little too much sauce and overwhemled the ravioli. The baby Kale salad was extremely fresh. The Kale seemed like it was plucked from a garden to the table. The salmon entrees were good but didn’t wow. They could’ve used a little. more seasoning. It was on the bland side. Service was very friendly and attentive.

I’ve had Italian food in my life plenty of times but nothing and no one adds up to this wonderful, delightful and tasteful food that La Nonna provides. The steak and sea food down to the sauce for the bread provided for appetizers is amazing. The environment is so pleasant and peaceful it’s amazing. The music is calming and the staff is great. They’re there when you need them. This is my first time here and I promise it’s not my last. The calamari and oysters are to die for!!!

So many great things to say about this restaurant! Came here the other night for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner with a party of 14 and everything was spot on. The interior is very nicely decorated and gives off a romantic/classic feel, making it great for either an intimate date or a group celebration. The staff is super friendly and we found that everything came out in a timely matter. My boyfriend and I started off with the Frittura di Calamari, which was good. We munched on that along with the bread and red sauce that was placed on the table, which everyone loved and kept asking for more. For my entrée I got the Lombatello Ai Ferri(skirt steak) and my boyfriend got the Grigliata Mista(calamari, octopus, swordfish, shrimp), both of which were two of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The food was cooked just right and the portions were the perfect size. I also ordered their red sangria and although some places make theirs too fruity, this one had just the right amount of alcohol. We didn’t try any options on the dessert menu, even though their selection looked great. We brought our own cake, which the restaurant was kind enough to hold in the back for us and bring out when we were ready. The staff placed a sparkler on the cake and sang happy birthday as they brought it out. From beginning to end, our whole experience was wonderful and I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again.

Gluten free pizza and pasta in a real old school feeling white table-cloth joint — add in the great location, a stone’s throw from the water, and La Nonna is a great go-to for dinner. My family is italian and loves coming to places exactly like La Nonna when they visit. Ok I don’t think they actually have white table cloths, but it’s still the kind of place that you’d want to bring your italian parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles to for a nice night out. Our group split a gluten free pizza as a starter, both the crust and toppings were top notch. I also LOVED the gluten free penne with the fettuccine verdi tartufate(mushrooms with a creamy truffle sauce) — they can do ANY of their pizzas with GF crust and they can sub GF spaghetti or penne in any of the pasta dishes La Nonna definitely errs on the side of rich and decadent, lots of cheese, carb and cream heavy options, which as far as I’m concerned, is exactly what you want at an old school italian spot. I also had a delicious cocktail(storm on kent) — so A+ all around!

The ambiance set the tone for one romantic evening. Very authentic Italian fine dining. Located in In one of Brooklyn’s premier neighborhoods. Williamsburg. We didn’t have reservations, unbeknownst to us lol. But the hostess was kind enough to find us a table. What can i say… Great evening.

What an amazing wonderful experience I had last night. First time and of course not the last, it was absolutely divine, from complimentary bread to the delicious mouth watering lasagna and pizza. Will be back soon and of course will make it a go to place. Ambiance and décor was romantic and a great place to celebrate anniversaries.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Our supper club(been together for over 30 years) decided on La Nonna due to a connection with the owner from their old days as a pizza place. With an 8 o’clock reservations we arrived at 7:30 and had drinks at the bar first. Btw, there is $ 3 parking if you need it close by however we found a spot on the street(lucky to find in Williamsburg). Ok, back to drinks, had a delicious Moscow Mule for the first time and it was great. Served in a hammered copper mug, it was an ice cold and refreshing drink. Wish the mug was a souvenir cup. Once our whole party arrived we were promptly seated. The tables are spaciously set apart and the noise level is manageable(even with my f’d up hearing). Waiters were on us quickly with water, drinks, menus, bread with olive oil & eggplant. Our waiter was fantastic and wish I could remember his name although he was the one with the full beard, as if every other 25+er in WB doesn’t sport the same chin hair. Our waiter shared the many specials with us and we ordered our apps and mains with his input. For appetizers we chose the special of the night. A pasta with crab and some creamy inside of a burratta sauce that was a pasta dream. Additional apps ordered were Mozzarella carozza, fried ravioli, and baked clams– all fantastic. For mains around the table, most ordered the pasta with assorted seafood including a lobster tail however I went for the squid ink pasta with calamari and octopus with a silky olive oil n garlic sauce. My dish was quite different than other squid ink dishes I have had in the past and it was perfect. For dessert, you have to try the fried ravioli stuffed with Nutella. It tasted more like a zeppole with warm Nutella oozing out of it. I was quite full by this time so I managed a few bites of this and packed the rest for take-home. OMG this dessert is an absolute winner! The whole experience from beginning to end was a winner. I’ll be back for more and can’t wait till next time.

Went here for a company Christmas party. The wine was nothing special, but they kept it flowing so I can’t complain. We had the fried calamari(delicious), filet mignon dumplings(good), and truffle flatbread(delicious!). Then we had pasta, which to be honest was kind of disappointing. The sauce was very one dimensional, kind of bland and not much texture to it/watery. I would need to come back for a regular dinner in order to properly determine, but this was a little shocking for an Italian restaurant. My main was steak with chimichurri sauce, which the sauce was not even close to chimichurri but tasty nonetheless. Dessert was great, the cheesecake was nice. The ambiance of the restaurant is romantic and intimate. I would consider coming back to try their regular menu.

The staff here were absolute champions, MVPs even, after our table turned our bill into«The Great CLUSTERF*CK of 2015». On top of being entirely patient while it took my extremely inefficient party nearly an hour to pay the bill, the staff was very accommodating. Bread baskets and water never went unfilled, appetizers came out quickly, and most importantly, all of the dishes were served piping hot. The portions here are huge! I particularly loved the Kobe Wagyu Beef Meatballs with Ricotta and the main dish I ordered which was a house made, cheese filled pasta with spicy ground sausage and chiles in a tequila pink cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! Our waiter recommended the Il Conte D’Abruzzo even though it was a lower price point that some of the other wine bottles on the list. We appreciated the honestly, and it was a great pairing with the meals we had! The baby kale salad was good as well. The atmosphere here is homey. The back room where our party sat felt a lot like a residential dining room. I liked the cozy touches. All in all, a five star experience, minus my group being unable to get their shit together. I’ll definitely plan a return visit when I can go with a smaller group who placed in the 99th percentile on their standardized math tests. And I’m not bitter, obviously.

Wonderful homemade Italian food, some of the best I’ve had in the New York area. I first fell in love with La Nonna at its original location, but the new restaurant is much bigger and, if you sit outside, offers beautiful views of the river. The food remains delicious, especially the homemade pasta. I especially enjoyed the Raviolo All’Uovo and also the Pere salad. There are great options for vegetarians here such as the Raviolo, Gnocchi, and Paccheroni Alla Napoletana. You can order a starter salad or vegetable side if you don’t want to just fill up on just pizza or pasta, though it will be hard to resist such delectable dishes! The atmosphere at the new restaurant is much more upscale, but casual attire is still appropriate. La Nonna is perfect for dates or visiting family or friends, or just any time you want delicious Italian food.
