L L Bean Factory Store

Though we have received LL Bean catalogs in the mail for some time, I don’t think any of them have ever actually been addressed to us. Well, we do go by the name «resident» now and again, but so does everyone else. Never had we been to a store, however. It just so happened that while I was looking for things to do in the Williamsburg area, I came across an outlet store, and since it was not too long before school started, I figured we would stop in to see if we could find anything.
About then I realized we had this really old backpack, and I recalled that it actually was an LL Bean, and that they were supposed to replace these things forever. So we hauled it along with us on our summer trip. Sure enough, we plopped that thing on the counter — the guy looked almost scared — but even without receipt, he managed to find that it was worth something like $ 20 towards a new pack. Had we had a receipt for it, it might have been worth more. And we walked out with several more packs marked down, readying the kids for the new year. Nice.
The only downside is that I understand they are doing away with this store, and perhaps all outlet stores, in the near future, because of the cost of maintaining them. So you may need to do your shopping online.
