Hampton Inn & Suites Williamsburg-Central

The AC unit runs very loudly. Its really hard to sleep with the constant rumble of the AC. It kept turning off and on during the night. I couldnt seem to control it with the thermostat. Besides that, the room is comfy and cozy. The room was clean. It wasnt an issue for me but, there is no microwave in the room.

Where to begin? The AC comes on like an engine throughout the night, so I hope you’re not looking forward to sleep. The walls were thin enough for me to tell you what my neighbors were up to that day. Seriously, every word was heard without trying. But to their credit we only heard our floor mates when the AC wasn’t booming. Then one day we decide to hit the outside pool, the maintenance guy is fixing a tile so the whole pool is out of commission. Guess that couldn’t be handled at night. The cherry on top is we left a full day early but they wouldn’t refund us. Wow. Customer service at it’s best. I waited to put this review up in hopes that they would refund us for the one night we DIDN’T stay but they won’t. It took the general manager 3 weeks just to reply. There it is, we’ll never stay here again and neither should you. Maybe you sleep like a bear, perhaps you’re into listening to other people’s conversations, then this your place.

Needed a two-​night stay in Williamsburg and used Bonus Points to stay here. Price was right this time, but would consider returning even with regular rates. This HI was clean, comfortable, had nice amenities and the morning breakfast could not be better. There were a large number of people taking advantage of breakfast, but only the single waffle maker had a significant delay for access to food. Food quality and service staff were both high quality.
Desk staff could take a cue from kitchen staff in regards to the use of a smile and friendly, outgoing nature. For two days, I felt more like a hindrance than a valued customer.
Location and facility were great!

Very comfortable, very clean, and the pool was excellent for the kids.
Breakfast was a bit chaotic — I blame it all on the waffle maker!!!
Anyway, stick to yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, and juice and you’ll be very happy.

This is the nicest of the 3 Hampton Inns in Williamsburg, but I won’t stay here again. No refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, and the AC fan turns on and off at will with no way to control it without turning it off completely. It either runs loudly or is completely silent which is very distracting when trying to sleep. I’d like for it to stay on.

The Hampton Inn And Suites was an… Ok experience. The rooms where nice and (thankfully) where clean. But, the décor was somewhat dated. This included popcorn ceilings as well as Red and Green curtains and a matching carpet. Despite the fact that the room was pretty dated, it was pretty spacious and a flat screen TV in the room. The air conditioning was somewhat loud but after a few adjustments, you could hear a pin drop. The bathroom had hot and cold running water along with with a bath/​shower (also clean). There is a pool and hot tub, but don’t get your hopes up, they were NOT big at all. As well as a pool, there was also a workout centre. There is also a complimentary breakfast every morning from 6am-​10am. Overall, the Hampton Inn and Suites was a pretty good experience.

We love this hotel and stay here when we visit Williamsburg. The breakfast is pretty good and lots of choices and very convenient to not have to leave for breakfast and coffee. Our room was clean and fitness room clean as well. We accidentally left our jackets here and the staff held it for us to pick it up. The staff working the breakfast area were so super nice.

My family spent two nights here. Swimming pool was pretty nice with a hot tub. Breakfast has a waffle station and egg and bacon. Fruit juice was not that fresh though. The room was clean but does not have a refridgerator. I will definitely be back.

Hamptons are usually a safe bet when I travel on business; I didn’t expect much for this weekend R&R visit, but was pleasantly surprised. The hotel and room is clean; the staff friendly. What we really liked was the outdoor pool. Williamsburg can get brutally hot and humid: an outdoor pool is a source of great enjoyment and relaxation. Today is very comfortable, and it’s great to just relax in the sun poolside (too bad there isn’t bar service). This hotel is also well located to get to Colonial Williamsburg and the highway for the short drive to Busch Gardens. Not fancy, but I would certainly stay here again. 4.5 stars

I like Hamptons. This was a great example of a typical Hampton. If you like Hamptons you will like it here. The outdoor and indoor pool options are nice. The location is great off the highway, near resources, near the tourist attractions.

Clean hotel. Free (but forgettable) breakfast. Staff could be friendlier but it’s still a good value for a short stay in Williamsburg.

Definitely 3-​star. Nice but average. We rented two rooms; the first one’s bathroom needed a little extra cleaning when we arrived. The walls are thin and the kids could hear their neighbors’ conversations — which kept them awake — one of the nights we were here. Popcorn eggs in the morning. Adjoining rooms since we were traveling with our kids was nice. My daughter says the conditioner is not great. The pool was nice and warm, and there was a working hot tub. The exercise room has two treadmills, a bench, and weights.
Very convenient — close drive to Colonial Williamsburg. (When there, you can park at the visitors’ center and take free shuttle downtown to the old colonial district, so don’t worry about parking.)

I think it was my room location that made this a less than satisfactory visit. The hotel itself is probably okay, but the room I was in made my stay miserable. First floor, next to the stairwell and hallway entry doors equals loud slamming doors ALL. NIGHT. LONG. The A/​C is very loud and when it kicks on, sounds like a freight train. I was very happy to get home so I could catch up on my sleep.
Hardly any of the cable channels came through, and the toilet ran so long that we provided a free service to the hotel and fixed the tank so it would stop running rather than wait on maintenance to come to the room at 10pm.
Another thing, if you book your hotel through travelocity, expedia, etc., you are not able to collect Hilton Honor points, which is a bummer.

My wife and I spent 3 nights of our honeymoon at this hotel last week. Our experience was great. The location is excellent, just a short drive to the visitor’s center for colonial Williamsburg; in the other direction, towards Richmond, are many restaurants and other businesses.
The hotel staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is quite good and includes hot food, unlike the free breakfast at some other hotels. The free coffee in the lobby is a very nice touch.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend and we are likely to stay there next time we’re in Williamsburg.

We spent two nights here in August. The room was clean, the location excellent. The other reviews are accurate, it’s a very basic hotel room and no «extras.» The breakfast is overcrowded despite the fact the room seats 40 – 50 its just a big hotel and the area for food is too small. Again not bad and pleasant for a Hampton Inn

My wife left her coat in the closet and they sent it back to us via the mail. Nice touch. The beds were not the most comfortable we’ve ever stayed at, but ok. The heat system in the room was hard to run.

Amazing!!! I stayed here prior to checking in at the Williamsburg Lodge and I wish I had stayed. Cleaner, friendlier, quieter, less expensive and just a better stay. Loved it! Close to everything, so just stay here instead!

We stayed here for one night last week. Beautiful, newer hotel, great, clean rooms, fantastic staff. highly recommend.

Only one year old this Hampton Inn was excellent. My place to stay next time I visit Williamsburg.
