Elite Event at Edamama

This was my first Unilocal event and it was Unilocal first family (kid friendly) event. I didn’t know what to expect but it certainly exceeded my expectations. Edamama is a kid salon, café and kid event/​activity center all rolled up in one. Wall lined with amazing books and toys.
Although I can’t contest to the outcome of the haircuts, but I can tell that the owner was super friendly. She served mimosa and coffee beverages to the adults and offered fresh pressed watermelon with pineapple and mint juice from next door for the kiddies. It’s summer and I’m nursing so I enjoyed the refreshing juice more than my preoccupied toddler. She was loving the toys and fish tank amongst other little ones. Oh and there was pizza too!
The sing along time was amazing. My little one was dancing and clapping along enjoying every moment of it. There’s décor indicating a birthday party hung above the carpet area and yoga time and other activities written on the calendar board. This seems like a cool place for a kid.

We were greeted by Peter D., and the lovely Eda, the owner of Edamama! I must say, she is a wonderful person with such a beautiful smile. I was one of the first ones checked in, so she was able to tell me a little about her shop and showed me around. Whether you are here for their books, a cup of joe, or your child’s first haircut, Edamama is a venue for events and birthdays.
Although, my kids and I did not meet new friends today, we still had a blast. Eda kicked off the party with a soft pop of a bottle of champagne. Her and her staff made mimosas (for the adults, of course) and served refreshing juice from Juicery Kitchen– Watermelon Pineapple Mint flavored. Phil was awesome. Great sense of humor, we all loved his sing-​a-​longs and catchy tunes. If Kaylen and Karen weren’t so shy, they would have took the dance floor down, ha ha. Everyone enjoyed slices provided by Two Boots, it was a pleasure having the owner, and his family, stay for the event, as well. Delicious pizza cut into small slices for the little ones. What’s a kids party without peep-​pa (that’s how my 2 year old says pizza) and balloons for everyone?!
One word — FUN! A successful Unilocal play date! No haircut today, but I will definitely be back with my girls. Kaylen has already made her pick of 1 of the 4 different themed seats for her haircut. The Starfish one.

What fun we had today at this event. Felt very a Elite to be apart of the first Unilocal family friendly event. Peter was outside to welcome all elites and mini Unilocalers alike. Eda (the owner of Edamama) was right in the front of the store greeting everyone as they walked in. The space was perfect for this event, a hair salon that hosts several weekly playgroups and activities for little ones. Two huge baskets of books and lots of toys spread out on the rug in the play area. Children can read and play until their hearts are content. My little ones enjoyed the book and toy selection.
The sing-​along with Phil was awesome. Playing all the classics like «the wheels on the bus» «head shoulders knees and toes» and «no more monkeys jumping on the bed», just to name a few. He kept the mini Unilocalers singing and wiggling.
Refreshments were yummy morning mimosas, cold pressed watermelon, pineapple and mint juice and the crowd favorite Two Boots pizza. I mean pizza and mimosas… yes please!
Very fun event. I love the Unilocal swag. Nifty hand sanitizer a with Unilocal jackets. Good job Peter!!! We had a great time and got to meet other great mommas.

Yay! First Unilocal event with mini-​yelpers! I hope there’s more. For some reason, one of the funniest moments to me was the look on Peter D.‘s face as he saw a mini Unilocaler nonchalantly throw the other half of his pizza on the floor and run/​waddle away. Not the usual reaction he gets to the food at Unilocal events lmao. I picked it up off the floor to toss it in the can, but it really made me giggle. The pizza tasted great by the way!
Beautiful and incredibly kid-​friendly place for haircuts, events and story time. I liked everything about this place.
My little one took on her usual role as a small diva with many requests, particularly with Peter D. to collect balloons for her followed up with yet another request to pop the balloon then to grab another floating one from the air… then another one lol.
I really enjoyed seeing her play with other children and although it took me some time to warmup to meeting people, it was great meeting other Unilocaling parents.
We really liked the pizza, watermelon pineapple mint juice and my husband enjoyed the mimosas.
Phil, who did the sing-​a-​longs was the life of the party. When he left the tiny guests got super antsy and seemed ready to leave. Not me, I clicked with a cool parent along with a regular attendee of sing-​a-​long time and our children loved playing together.
At the end of the event, we played outside for a while, long enough for one of the kiddos to graffiti the Welcome Unilocal Elites chalkboard sign with their own chalk designs. Then we walked to McCarren Park letting them play so long I thought my husband would have to drag me to the car.
I fell asleep on the ride home, positioned like a weird rag doll because I don’t even recall falling asleep.
Kudos to all involved for a successful Unilocal Event, especially Peter D. for putting forth the effort to make sure we were all happy and had a great time.
