Quality Inn & Suites Conference Center

I drove from Florida to Wilkes barre and the customer service was TERRiBLE here !!! The one big lady that works at the front desk and acts like she’s making $ 25 an hour to give people the death stare and treat propel Like they beneath her is halarious to me. She acted like my questions I had for her was a bother to her. Even asking here where is the breakfast room she had an attitude and said its over there lol. they should fire everyone that works in the front desk. the room was a dump. my opinion go somewhere else. don’t waste ur money here. I would never come back here!

I recently wrote a review where I said Rule #1 is always consult Unilocal before making a decision. I failed to do that in this case and I regretted it very much!
The good things about the Quality Inn and Suites Conference Center:
Parking at the door was always available.
It’s in a convenient location for going to 81, the PA Turnpike, or into the Wilkes-​Barre or Kingston area.
One morning, I had their free breakfast and it wasn’t bad.
Great hot water for showers.
The negatives about the Quality Inn and Suites Conference Center:
When I came back to the room after the first night, the room had not been made up. The bath mat and towel were on the floor where I left them. When I brought that to the attention of the front desk, they said that I had requested no service. This was a lie and I let them know that. Another person said they don’t make up rooms every day. Really? That’s sad!
This same night. when I returned, I could not get into the room. Someone had programmed the key wrong so it was disabled at whatever time their system is set up to do this. I had to go to the front desk to get the key reset. This was after I checked in the day before for a stay of four nights.
The rooms have only sheer drapes. I could see people walk by and at night the lights from businesses across the highway lit up my room. I had continual light all night.
The last night I returned, the key did not work again. Yes, disabled again. Back to the front desk to be able to get into my room. One of the evening crew at the desk took responsibility for that saying he was new.
Their online amenities state that they have wired internet access. Not true. On checking in, I was told it’s all wireless. Change you description. That’s an important thing for me!
The map in the guest notebook is incorrect. The ice machine is where the map shows but it also shows a vending area and they don’t have any vending areas anymore. Instead, there’s a small cooler and rack of snacks and drinks in the lobby.
I saw this complex being built 40+ years ago when I lived in the area and it was a Holiday Inn. Some things have changed since then. New carpeting, new beds, but not much more. Some of the plaster on the ceiling in the shower area has fallen down and it looks sad. There are clips on the bathroom door where a mirror once hung. The clips are there but the mirror is gone.
Had I seen the reviews on Unilocal before I jumped into my reservation, I would have stayed elsewhere. It’s not like there isn’t a fair number of places to choose from in that area. I would not recommend that anyone stay here. It’s over-​priced for the poor place you get.
Rule #2 is always remember Rule #1.

Firstly, everything you have read in reviews that is 2 stars and above is absurd. We believed those reviews and booked a night’s stay and are suffering for it. I don’t want to post a rant especially because the staff is actually really nice and helpful, but it doesn’t exempt the business as a whole mostly because the building itself is a poor property.
When we arrived, we were given a non smoking room, but it was worse than a casino. It felt like someone had just smoked a whole pack. The other guests here for some reason are super noisy and I swear some people live here. Also, the bathroom looked like a prison bathroom: All walled, tiled, and just a facet and shower head.
The following review is for the second room we changed to.
This place is overcharged for what it is. We are SO SHOCKED that this is a Quality Inn. We’ve stayed in other branches and had great experiences, but this is by far the most bizarrely appalling.
The pillows and sheets smell stale as if they’ve been used for a long time and never washed. Like, go to an old person’s house who smokes and pick up their pillow and smell it. That’s what you get from this location. The walls are THIN all around so you can hear EVERYTHING, even the neighboring guests expel themselves in the bathroom and the facets turn on and off. The cleaning crew with their carts sound like a freaking roller coaster that goes by and even the birds outside sound like they’re inside your room chirping away.
The furniture is not only old, but worn and in bad shape. There’s rust, cracks, and stains left and right; you can’t miss it. There are holes all over the walls esp. in the bathroom. The water temperature is inconsistent and when we turn on the shower, the water was BROWN. We let it run for a while until we felt it was safe.
Sadly, no matter the staffs’ efforts (even as it’s under new management) due to the area, types of guests attracted to this place, and poor quality of property, there is really not much else they can do. This place needs serious renovation. Also, the power went out in the middle of the evening… seriously?
On a positive note, the staff really are doing their best to provide a comfortable stay. The thermostat works well and keeps you warm in the freezing East Coast weather. A Friday’s is attached to the building. HOWEVER, take note that it is only attached to the lobby so you still have to trek the cold outside to get to it. ANOTHER NOTE: If you are a guest at Quality Inn, you can get 10% off ONLY IF YOU DINE IN. The front desk clerk failed to mention that. ALSO, Friday’s delivers to motel, oops, I mean hotel guests, for a $ 4.00 delivery charge.
I wish I could say, «You should definitely stay here!», but I don’t want what happened to us happen to anyone else; false reviews leading to false expectations and therefore a horrible experience especially when you and your family were in desperate need of comfort and relaxation from strenuous days and daunting, long road trips.

Pretty terrible hotel that should be called a motel. My husband and I found this on hotwire trying to save some money. It ended up still being about 85 with taxes for one night. We were tired and it was late and no one there at the lobby counter. There was just a piece of paper that said be back in 5 minutes, which was a lot longer than that. He asked if we were smokers and we weren’t. The room he gave us was double beds not a single king and reeked like smoke. Everything was outdated and old. The breakfast wasn’t all that great but for free what should you expect? The marriot right next door would have been the better bet. Next time don’t go cheap it isn’t worth saving 20 bucks.

Good layover on a trip with our dog. We’ve stayed here twice. Great location, just off the exit. Gas and food close by. We’ve learned when traveling with our dog, we need a door that goes immediately outside. This meets that accommodation and has a great courtyard. The courtyard does seem busy at night, so white noise app on our phones with the fan helped drown the noise so he didn’t bark. Rooms were fine, bathrooms were run down but all and all it was just what we needed for a layover.

This is the hotel we choose to stay in annually for the East Coast Bowling Nationals. Its my 2^nd year here. Its decent, inexpensive and they offer complimentary breakfast. Its not the best looking hotel but its not the worst either. The Staff is friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is worth it for what we need. Clean rooms, clean beds & a place to sleep, but the bathrooms are outdated. I like everything looking new lol, I mean why not right?! We got a great group deal of $ 59 per night.

My experience was fine. I stayed their on extended business and everyone was very friendly from the District Manager to the Maintenance men. The room was clean and pretty large with 2 Queen size beds, a small fridge and microwave and Coffee Maker. The Housekeepers came daily. If I needed something done it got done. They have a free breakfast its kind of no frills but edible. There is a large indoor pool and although I didn’t use it I saw many who did and said it was sweet!
All in all I had a nice stay and I do plan on going back. The rates are inexpensive and worth the money. PS= There is a Fridays restaurant attached to the lobby and that place is always packed, bar and restaurant.

I have stayed here before, because it is pet friendly and has a Fridays attached to it. But the place seem to be getting run down more and more each time I stay here. This time I was given a room where the bath tub finish was peeling off, it looked gross and dirty. Chairs were stained I would not even sit on them. It does not take much to repair something like that Just shows the owner just does not care. I will be looking for another place to stay the next time I come here. Also ants in bathroom and sink yuck ! The worst was the bed bugs, only found one on a lamp, just as I was going to turn off the light. Killed it took it to the front desk and told them I was checking out ! They will never see me again !

1 star because I can’t give it any less. This shouldn’t really be called a hotel; but a motel instead! Came in to stay with a co worker for a business trip… I’ll get straight to business. Check in associate was cold and bitter, room 165 was infested with bugs, my co worker got bug bites overnight and my bed had a dead bug on it, crowd of drunk men hanging out in courtyard, and wifi sucked. Whole experience was horrible. Never again will I stay at the «Quality» Inn «Hotel» if in Wilkes Barre, PA.
