I remember when they first opened — I had them deliver at least once a week. I moved out a while ago — I’m getting married this weekend and for the rehearsal dinner I’m having the groomsmen /bridesmaids pick up pizza from a bunch of different places(to have variety). These guys are definitely on my list. My favorite was the ham and pineapple, though they sometimes ran out of the pineapple. The owners were also really nice people too. I don’t remember the place being seedy or anything when I was there, but the last time I was in they were in the process of applying for a liquor license — I guess that’ll attract a different crowd. But they were great, and I’m sure they still are. Definitely worth a try in my book.

I do love the name — it brings to mind an anthropomorphized talking pizza mascot, similar to a Mr. Peanut or California Raisin. However, my love does not extend to the restaurant itself and I have to give Mr. Pizza a failing grade. While their pizza is rather inexpensive it is also rather tasteless. It would be hard to recommend Mr. Pizza when there’s at least seven better pizza places within a four block radius. If you are looking to sample Mr. Pizza’s menu I would advise on ordering takeout instead of dining in. The interior of the restaurant is rather unpleasant and a popular spot for downtown Wilkes-Barre’s undesirables.

The pizza here is really good and not overpriced. The place itself is seedy so I would not recommend hanging out in there for long, but definitely good for take-out. They also have fairly cheap beer that you can buy as singles or 6 packs, I think some 12 packs and higher too. There’s also a small selection of liquor you can order in a drink and a TV you may sit and watch. The employees and owner are really nice, but the restaurant attracts a sketchy crowd.

We had burgers here. They were OK, nothing special… but there was a crowd of very obviously regulars who were quite drunk smoking right by the door. This was around 3 in the afternoon too. Burgers were a bit too much to justify the dive atmosphere. I sure wouldn’t bring family here for the food. I probably won’t be back either.
