Towne West Square

Half of the store fronts in this mall are empty and there are duplicates of the same store on both ends it’s just weird. Plus getting there is not fun either it’s like a maze all around that mall. Everything is run down an unkempt in the area.

After being away from Wichita (and having not stepped foot inside this mall) for a decade, I fully expected Town West Square to be a ghost-​town of a mall. Seeing as that wasn’t quite the case, a two-​star experience was a pleasant surprise!
I have a theory about malls, one we’ll call the Gap-​titude Test. If a Gap store feels compelled to leave a mall, then the writing is on the wall and soon enough the whole place will crumble. Well, Gap left Town West Square, and I was expecting it to be replaced by tumbleweeds. Instead, it’s been replaced into some sort of retail version of an ethnic enrichment festival. This mall has the strangest collection of stores:
1. A place seemingly 100% dedicated to quinceañera dresses
2. not one, but two different places offering «Chinese Massage»
3. a store with literally no name, but sells western-​wear for toddlers
4. Indian saris, with same-​day alterations!
It’s actually really cool to see so many cultures represented in what I remember to be a pretty white-​washed mall, but that doesn’t mean there’s much that I want to buy there. There are tons of teenager-​friendly shops, huge sections dedicated to kids birthday parties and the requisite four different jewelers. Nothing really for my demographic, however.
This is definitely not a dead mall. But it’s sure turned into a weird one.

I totally disagree with most people here. I’m from LA. I been to San Diego, LA, Ontario Mills, and I’ll even dare to say Burbank Malls all look like small malls. This place is huge and to think its the ‘small mall’ of Wichita is insane. I love shopping in Kansas, taxes may be high, but prices are still so so much cheaper than Cali, I save hundreds of dollars every year I come here on clothes bring an extra large suit case if your visiting! You will need it.

Oh Towne West. It’s a classic of Wichita, but it’s getting to the point where something really needs to be done about its appearance and the stores inside. The West Side needs a mall comparable to the East Side’s and they are just not at that point yet. The clientele is different at Towne West, which is interesting, but I guess telling of its state and location. I still enjoying going, just for something different, and sometimes Dillards and Express have more options than on the East Side, but overall unless you live on the West Side, there’s no real reason to go here.

Definitely not a mall to consider visiting.
I noticed many run down and abandoned buildings. It had very ghetto feeling to its surroundings. That didn’t make me feel very safe.
The mall itself is just one level. The food court sucks and very little in the line of attractiveness.
Just not enough here to worth a trip to.

Towne West has OBVIOUSLY aged. The shopping center lacks thrill and people! Most of the food court was grimy, and the bathrooms were a mess! Don’t they WANT customers? Plus, the choice of stores is awful. It’s more suitable for an old lady than a young lady, like me.
