History
Established in 1970.
In November of 1979 Dr. Nelson began practicing with Dr. Gaylord Pohlenz. That practice was located in Westlink Shopping Center at Central and Tyler Road. Dr. Nelson bought the practice from Dr. Pohlenz in January 1980. Dr. Wendall Force joined the practice in May 1982. He had previously been with the practice of Herndon, Bettis, Force and Ring. In October 1988 Drs. Nelson and Force moved to larger quarters at 8999 W Central Suite #101 in Westlink Shopping Center. Dr. Kevin Cline joined the practice in September 1989. During the summer of 1992 Dr. Cline launched his own practice in Mulvane, continuing to work at WFV on a part-time basis. The name Wichita Family Vision Clinic was adopted in 1993. Dr. Andy Stephens joined the practice in 1997 and purchased Dr. Force’s interest in the practice in May 1998 upon Dr. Force’s retirement. A new building was constructed in August, 2005 at 437 N.
