Tip Top Barber Shop

Can anyone in this shop do a medium length mens hair cut? Grab the scissors and do it right you rude, pretentious douche bags. Its buzz buzz buzz and a glop of gel. And they want $ 20 in this area? These guys are too full of themselves for the below par skill they display.

I was excited with all the great reviews and when I arrived the vibe was great. The hair cut was not I’m sorry to say. The worst cut that I can remember. Picture this I’m going out of town and I have to be somewhere within hours and will have no access to a barber and you put faith that a place with great reviews can get it right and feel confident. I sat in my car for 10 minutes debating on going back in. I paid, I tipped on an overpriced cut I feel and I didn’t have time to have another barber fix it. I don’t feel that confidence you get and I have a corporate trip. I’m frustrated. I can’t wear a hat. I wish I never trusted Unilocal on this. And they never offered a beer. I couldn’t take a photo to show my fiancé because it’s embarrassing that I was chopped up. I never wrote a review but today is that day.

To everyone who what’s a quality, this is your place! I love the vibe, super friendly, and they have true barber culture. Thanks for the amazing cut!

This place is excellent. Truly a haircut therapy. These guys and gals know what they are doing and will make you feel comfortable. They take the time to listen to how you want your hair cut and are personable. There are always regulars in there every time I stop by. 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend.

I’ve been coming to Tip Top for over a year and have never once had a bad cut. I’ve had different barbers and they are all great at what they do. If they’re busy, wait it out. It’s worth it

I’ve been coming to Tip Top for the last three years, every two weeks, like clockwork. Most of the barbers know exactly what I want when I sit in their chair.
Price is a little high if you want something simple, but you get a good product. I moved a little further away recently, but I still make the drive.

Place was cool until they jacked up the prices. Everything went downhill from there…

Been wanting to check this place out for a while. I was on my way to my regular barbers but I knew I wasn’t going to make it and remembered Tip Top closes later. Upon walking in, one of the barbers told me «we’ll be right with you sir». I said no rush. Two minutes later he was ready for me. Told him what I wanted and he started his magic. Before you know it, he was done. Quick and clean. I also asked if he could shape my beard. $ 5 extra for that. After everything the grand total was $ 26. This place is not the cheapest but I got what I asked for. Plus they were friendly. Maybe I came on a good day.

Plain and simple, this place is garbage. Bunch of wannabe guys with over inflated egos and unwarranted arrogance. Overpriced cuts that are amateur at best, horrible customer service and just an overall crappy vibe. Don’t bother going here. Check out Tocayos for a way better cut, cooler barbers and better prices. Oh, and kids aren’t welcome at tip top. What a bunch of BS! This place is Wack!

This is the man cave.
Straight up barber shop — nothing but clean cuts.
You wanna feel pretty — go to a salon.
You wanna perm — go to a salon.
You wanna cup of tea — go to a salon.
I go to tiptop for a cut. And have for the past 2 – 3 years.
There have been times I’ve come in and see that they’re slammed.
I’ll give my barber the look and instantly know… come back later. No prob.
And coming in right before they close — now that’s a challenge. If I look down at my watch or look up at the sun and know it’s getting late but really really need a cut I’ll try my luck. I’ll swing by the shop pop in my head and ask asap. It’s a yes or a no. Either way I’m good.
I’ve let my hair grown wild an extra week to get a cut from tiptop.
Take care of your barber they’ll take care of your cut.
That’s all a man can ask for.

The shop itself has good décor and a good vibe. However, I must base this review off the end product, my haircut. I first noticed that the price of a haircut was $ 21, I thought it was a bit steep but was willing to spend it as long as the end product was a reflection of the price. It was not. I showed the Barber a picture of what I had previously got from a different Barber (tapered faux hawk, tight on the sides). The haircut came out terrible. It was not even a similar reflection of the photo I had showed her. She showed me the mirror claiming to be done without even lining the front up. When asked if she could simply clean off the baby hairs in the front she said it would be $ 5 extra. At the end of the day I left unhappy, I will not return, or recommend this establishment to anyone.

I love bringing my son here! Yes, its a lil pricy, but its definitely worth it! My son walks outta their so fre$h! He loves, I love it & I ain’t goin no where else … My baby boy always looks fresh & clean … I forgot the young lady’s name who cut my sons hair but honestly she did a freakin awesome!!! & also, they take their time, which is a plus, the décor of the place is awesome! & for a pinup girl like me looovez the pinup vintage style look they have also … Again, never goin anywhere else!!! … X

Ive been coming here for over for a year now and I love/​hate this place. lets start with the love part.
The haircuts by these guys/​girls do an exceptional job in the style that this shop excels in.(the crew cut, hipster, lumber sexual haircuts) They are all super friendly, crack jokes with one another and are very cool to talk to with you. They have a mini fridge full of free beer from Coors to Pabst Blue for waiting customers. Although I’ve never actually gotten a beer, just one of these days I will do it!
As for the hate.
Closing times. yes I have fell victim to this once and can attest that if you decide to come to this shop 30 minutes prior to closing, they have a tendency to say they are done for the day. Which is unfortunate because you push away business and money to other places to make revenue, but at the same time I guess if you’re coming that close, much like food joints closing, people want to go home if they’ve cleaned up shop.
Recently the cuts went up to $ 21 for some reason which I cant remember, but even still for the cut you want, that cost justifies what youre going to get in the end, a good haircut. I wouldnt recommend this place to kids because of the environment and that they state on the door they dont. Other than that, I will be back as usual.

Overall the service is good but I don’t know about the whole disinfecting of their clippers or their razors I was diagnosed with acne keloidalis after going to this barbershop I have developed small pimple bumps in neck area due to un sanitized clippers or razors so don’t go that’s my best bet save dermatologist visits

Excellent place to come for a quick cut and pickup some pomade! I am always in a rush and this barbershop has not failed me yet. Only thing is that its ‘Cash Only’ which means I either hit the bank before or forget and cross the street to the liquor store (ATM fee $ 2.Something). Used to be $ 15 and paid $ 20 recently but still better than what I used to pay elsewhere. I’ll definitely be back.

It’s a good barber shop, but their skills is all they have going for them. Their customer service skills could use a huge makeover. One thing that I did appreciate is that they keep track of whoever is next in line. Nevertheless, I still believe this business could be better. Update: price increased to $ 21

Notice the time of this post is still 15min prior to the posted closing time of 5pm. This is the second time in two months I have arrived and there is at least two open chairs and I’m told they are done for the day. My cut takes 15min tops but they still say no. You guys should update your time to say 4:45 in that case if you’re not going to actually take customers until 5pm. I have come here at least four times since my first post and would say that the experience has steadily declined since then. I will NOT be returning after this.

Seriously! Screw this place, waited for an hour for a haircut for my husband. It wasn’t even 7 pm on a Friday, and right at 8 pm we got kicked out and told they are now closed and can’t attend us. Uhm, hello we’ve been waiting here for an hour! Their response was «oh we thought you were just hanging out» How incompetent are you? Horrible customer service!!! I will never come to this place again and will spread the word! I’d give it NO stars if that was possible, one star is way too many! This place is a joke!

First timer at @tiptopbarbershop and got cut up by @fabsteez great job I will be coming back.

Been coming here for a while now. Always leave here very satisfied feeling great. Even when I leave with a haircut a little shorter or longer than I wanted it’s still a really good hair cut that was thoroughly cut and wasn’t rushed. I usually just tell them kinda what I want and let them work their magic. Great people and awesome atmosphere.
P.s lots of guys are scared to get their cut from the girl but she does a real good job!
