The 6740

Ordered fries… never got them. Its been over an hour and i’m still here (drinking) and nothing.

Today I went in on a rainy day I wanted something simple I was greeted by a friendly and awesome staff not to mention the environment was relaxing and very clean I ordered the chicken strips fries and a soda was so good by the time I was done with my lunch I was ready for my food coma. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to go out with their friends for a good afternoon lunch or a spot to relax with a good beverage involved don’t forget their well known for their Ales on tap: D

Been there a few times. Tends to get busy and crowded. The buffalo wings were ok. Not too wild about craft beers. But not a bad place

Ok so I come here pretty regularly as it is just a walk down from my place. I love coming to The 6740 on Taco Tuesday when Allissa works. She is really amazing at what she does & I thank her for her great service. The tacos are always on point. I get the carne asada with everything & they always come out quick & hot with lots of meat! I’m usually hungry when I come, so I down the tacos before I have time to take a pic! LOL They still have an awesome beer selection & my beer palette has broadened to the amber reds & some seasonal brews. 8 dollars for a pint of Modelo?! (Smaller glass of the two) Seriously. Not even a craft beer. Haven’t been here for awhile and won’t come back now. The server was fast and friendly though.

The 6740 has been a uptown Whittier staple bar and grill for as long as I can remember. This establishment is a cool and easy little spot to grab a beer and a burger and watch the game or catch up with your friends. The set up is typical for a spot off pf green leaf which is a galley style with Windows only at the front. It goes pretty far back so I have never found seating to be an issue but it does get pretty packed. The service is always fast and friendly so that is a major plus. Now the drinks and food. They have a major craft/​tap list so if you are a beer drinker you will be pleased. It is forever changing with cool new brews that are fresh and hot with the seasons or just whatever is out and taste good. The food is outstanding! The last time I went I had the grilled veggie plate which is super simple and you would think anyone can pull off but for some reason the way they do it here is somehow like I’ve never had. I had to order two :) I also had the vegan burger which was super delicious and grilled to perfection with shoestring potatoes that had the perfect golden crisp to them. I have to say our plates were clean when they went to the back. The atmosphere is always great with lots of people having fun watching football. That times was particularly fun since it was the first Patriots upset of the season

Cool place to hang out and grab some drinks with friends. Not a big fan of their food menu, and the last time I came here, a few days ago, the service was pretty bad. They looked understaffed for the night. Waiting over 10 minutes just to put our drink order in. Been here before in the past and it was much better.
$ 11 for bleu cheese burger, I’d rather go across the street to the bottle room and spend a couple bucks more for a good burger and better service.
Good spot to mingle and have some beers, food id recommend other spots in he area.

Cauliflower Tacos and Beer? The best combination ever! I absolutely love it here. Everyone is just AMAZING! Very friendly, humble and loving.

Great place for vegetarians! They have veggie menudo veggie tacos veggie flautas veggie tostadas chili soy cauliflower bites and much much more! Love it here always good for a tall beer

Happy hour cauliflower is yum! Good prices and chill crowd. You get the «neighborhood bar» vibe here.

If it was possible to put 0 stars I would. Do not come here for football!!! Bronco fan waiting for the Broncos vs. Raiders game. When we first walked in we walk the waiter said he would put football on. Asked numerous times to put on the game. The waiter came over and said he couldn’t put it on at all. I went to ask the owner and the owners daughter. Both were extremely rude to both my friend and I. Dismissed both of us each time. Kept shaking their head. Would not recommend this place at all. Not good service!!!

*EDIT* This review was probably only up a couple of hours and i received a call from who i believe is the owner? Not positive, there was a lot of rambling in the message. He kept telling me to get a refund through eat24 if I could. I guess someone could see my «upsetness». He apologized but my question still wasn’t answered. are the rest of the items in the sampler platter supposed to be squished into the top of your nachos so their inedible? Since the manager on duty said yes, I just want to know. I realize that working with Eat24 is new for you, but that’s no excuse to have food showing up cold all smooshed together. Oh but I guess the fact that I can contact Eat24 for a possible but not likely refund is supposed to make it all better…

Ordered delivery tonight and our delivery boy came on a bike. Good thing they’re somewhat close but still received soggy fries. Gave an almost 10 dollar tip for soggy fries, yippie!
And when you order the sampler in the restaurant, does everything come piled and pushed down on top of your nachos? That’s how mine came. When my fiancé called and spoke to the manager, he said it does come that way in the restaurant. So, I’m curious… anyone who ordered it dining in, was everything else that comes with your sampler stuck to your nachos? My fiancé recommended that the nachos are placed in a separate container and the manager makes excuses and backs up the fact that everything should come smooshed into your nachos. I was so looking forward to those nachos, can you tell? Lol unfortunately, they were soggy too.
My club sandwich was good though! :) Bacon makes everything better. My fiancé ordered a melt with the thinnest chicken patty around and barely any cheese but at least they piled the mushrooms on.
The manager was so rude on the phone I’ll never be back. It sucks to spend over $ 50 on dinner and not even be able to enjoy it.

Beer was good. Wings were great ! But the service sucked :(maybe because we say at a table and not at the actually bar literally took like 20 mins to order a beer !! We didn’t order another because it took to long for the girl to come back around !

6740, or «Numbers“as my husband and I call it, has been excellent every time. The food is tasty, delivered fast and hot, and the staff is pleasant and attentive. We usually have a waitress who is so good, she tells us our entire order when we sit down. An amazing feat based on the number of people who frequent this establishment.
One note for you late eaters, food service stops at 10:00 pm, so plan accordingly.
To the owner of 6740, please bring back the Santa Fe burger.

Interesting place. Seems like they have a good amount of regulars.
The nachos were phenomenal. They are very generous with the toppings. I love that! Got the asada on top of them and the meat was perfectly seasoned! Every order of nachos also comes with their delicious salsa!
Other than that, I didn’t really enjoy my other food. We split fish and chips and the club sandwich, which was on special that day. The fish and chips was decent but nothing special. The club sandwich as mediocre as well. The tomato in my sandwich was nowhere near ripe and it kind of ruined the sandwich. They don’t skimp on fries, that’s for sure. You get plenty with your meals here.
The service was fine. Friendly staff and fast service. I’m not sure if I will be back to eat again.

I have to say I was disappointed in beer pub, service wasn’t that great. The waitress pass us like 10 times before stopping by to see what we wanted.
The beer was good and as for the food i can’t say anything about it, but i did see plates coming out from the kitchen and they looked good.
Price for beers are decent ambiance was so, so. The place needs a face lift and some music…

This is a whittier «cheers» for sure… Most of the regulars know each other’s name… Some were very nice to me the couple of times I have stopped by since World Cup…
That said… this is a drinking place… or to watch a game… the food is an afterthought… had the fish and chips (see photo) not great but edible
This is not the place to take a lady you are trying to impress– being her for a drink before or after your meal. go to California grill for food or anywhere else

Parking is a bitch around here. The bright side about dealing with bitches is you know how to fuck with bitches. So I parked my blazer in the empty spot right in front of the 40.
They have a pretty fucking kick ass juke box here, and you can hear it once u walk in. If u don’t believe me yet, go straight to it. This particular day they had on the stones I’ll never be your piece of burden as I walked up and ordered my beer.

Mistake. This beer is really good. In fact it’s too damn good. It’s Cismontanes (oc brewery) 4^th yr anniversary beer– meaning they only produce it every 4 yrs. Oh ya it’s tops of at 9.5%. That’s the mistake. Don’t blow 10gs.
The beer quality was great, but the point is that bar here offers quality beer regularly and at times it has an outstanding choice for craftsmanship taste! Paired along with great tunes from artists from festivals like edc, outside lands, coachella and pitchfork, this is a great spot to get yourself back at equilibrium.
Once here, a friend and I were treated to an uplifting joint by a regular, on the account they believed we were having a bad experience and wanted to ensure the 40 reputation. This spot offers great beer, excellent sounds, and good vibes.

I didn’t know what I really want for lunch, so my feet took me into this pub thinking the food would be amazing… I know, I just want beer for lunch I guess. Hehe. Did I mention I have to go back to work?
OK, enough of that. Walked in around 1:30 on a Monday. Parking wasn’t horrible and the place was pretty quiet. The staff, well, she has that owner look on her face, Idk, but she was very friendly and helpful. Suggested two drinks from the tap. Settled with one after sampling.
I ordered a garlic burger ($ 11) with cheese (+$ 1) and it comes with fries or salad. Their food is a bit pricy and lots of «add on» available for extra charges. I also saw home made chips on the menu, but, not for the price of $ 8 sadly. When I got my burger, truthfully I was a tad disappointed. The rosted garlic was served as topping and moved around a lot. The patty wasn’t seasoned… For a garlic burger, I was hoping either to see my garlic mixed in with my meat or at least garlic powder up my meat… I was eating a $ 11 frozen patty… I cry.
Well, as a pub, I guess food is not their strong suit. I enjoyed the drink and their service. I can see this place hopping during the night time. If I am in the area again and just wanted to drink, I would come back for sure.
