This subway is conveniently located for me. I can easily pick it up on the way home from work. They keep the inside clean and neat. The parking in front is limited. There is a laundry mat next door so the parking fills up fast. The service has always been nice. I was just in here the other day and ordered sandwiches to go. I was in a bit of a rush since I had to be somewhere so I walked out pretty fast once I got my sandwiches. The lady came running out because I didn’t grab the cookies I purchased. I thought that was great customer service on her part that she remembered and got me before I left. Sandwiches are getting pricier, as is the rest of the world. Quality of sandwiches is good, but I feel it depends a lot on how the employee makes it. Sometimes they can get really sloppy or not add enough sauce and it’s dry. There’s always coupons in mail to save!

I’m finally understanding that certain parts of Whittier are kinda rough around the edges. Some parts of town are much older, even though new businesses sprout up in other areas. Still, it would be nice to see an occasional smile or two, maybe a hello here and there. No luck at this Subway location. Situated, next to a Molcasalsa and and some generic drive thru dairy, the place seems normal at first, but the experience is different than what I normally encounter at other Subways. The venue is clean, but the service is not very friendly. Almost, morbid in fact. I wasn’t acknowledged as I came up to order. Not even a simple greeting, just a slight grunt of what appeared to be the words — «what would you like?» No expression or energy, just what appeared to be body language in the form of — «hurry up and tell me if you want your bread toasted and what condiments do you want on your hoagie?» There are some formalities to any job, but I don’t know if this person is having a bad day or maybe their mind is on something else. But, I thought that a business would appreciate their customers in order to have them back for future visits. Maybe, it’s just me trying to have a positive attitude, but if you and I have to occupy the same space, can’t we make the best of it? I ordered a foot long Tuna with Garlic Bread and a side of Doritos Nachos chips. Famished from not having breakfast, I don’t if the sandwich went in my nose rather than my mouth. It was gone in about 5 minutes or so. Tasted just like a regular sub that I’ve ordered a hundred times before. I didn’t bother wanting to stay too long in the dining room anyway. A lady nearby was giving me quite a peculiar look, as though she and I were the last two people on the face of this earth. CREEPER. AZODICARBONAMIDE According, to BFF Sandra S, the Subway chain will soon stop adding this chemical to their bread. Commonly found in yoga mats and shoe soles to add elasticity, the company swears that the FDA fully approves and recognizes azodicarbonamide to be safe. One of the derivatives of this substance is a recognized carcinogen and was found to cause cancers of the lung and blood vessels in mice. Oh brother. Even, the bread used for the McRib contains this mystery dough conditioner. You can read more about it here @ CNN( ).
