Social Security Administration

I came here without an appointment for a replacement ss card and was out within 15 minutes. Easy peasy mac and cheesey.

Came to the Whittier Social Security Office last Monday. We were assigned to a most efficient young lady, Mrs. Castelar. She not only answered our complex questions but gave suggestions and was so helpful!
Contrast this to the Glendora office we went to about six months ago. We spoke to a woman who we found out has worked there ten years. She could not answer most questions. We asked «if Social Security doesn’t know, who would know?» Her answer was I don’t know. Sigh!
So glad we decided to try a different office, Kudos to Mrs. Castelar!

I recently moved to the uptown Whittier neighborhood, & was happy to find out how close this office is to my home. I definitely like this office more than the Montebello office. I’ve had appointments as well as walk ins, & I haven’t experienced any extremely long waiting times for both. Simply put… Friendly & efficient employees.

Female security guard was the rudest person I met in my entire life. Snappy and rude. Worker wasn’t much help either. I brought all the required documents the website said I needed to bring and she denied all the items I brought. I guess I’ll try another office. It’s better to just mail the items in.

The wait wasn’t too long but their service wasn’t too friendly. I hope I won’t have to go back here.

I was in and out in about 30 minutes. Not bad for a last minute trip to the office. I needed a new card and it was mailed in no time.

Doors opened before 8 am. The security guard was pleasant and respectful! As soon as it was 9:00am 5 windows opened and one door. All FIVE WINDOWS! My buddy in line was there less than 2 mins amazing! I’ve been to the office in Santa Ana, Anaheim and Long Beach. By far this was the best location with ready to work professional and customer friendly government employees. Yes you read that right GOVERNMENT employees. It might help to fill out forms online and if possible make an appointment.
I’m here to change my name so you cannot make an appointment for that. I’m not sure what it’s like mid morning or afternoon but as far as early morning this place rocks.
Note: the rep that helped me was quite and didn’t make any small talk with me. I guess that’s fine since I need him to concentrate on getting my name and address correctly on an important document. Checked in at 8:58 and left at 9:28.
(During my wait the security guard did get a bit snappy with customers who had vision impairment and language barriers so I edited my review and rated 4 stars instead of five.)

it is really hard for me to give this location a good review, for the reason that it is such a horrible place to go to.
you always have to wait a huge amount of time.
the people that work there (for the most part) are very rude. (though, i’m sure they are rude because they deal with rude people all day… when you are rude, you get a rude vibe and put one off that is contageous.)

Located in Uptown Whittier, this location serves nearby residents as their go to Social Security Office. Upon entering, there is a self check in kiosk (available in English and Spanish). If you need further assistance, there is a security guard that can help you with additional questions. Once you have signed in, just wait for your number to be called and/​or popped up on the TV screen. There are plenty of seats available in the well air conditioned waiting area. Aside from having multiple windows open with customer service reps, there are additional cubicles in the back for further assistance and privacy.
My work has brought me to this office at least three times now. Each time that I’ve been here, all the staff were helpful and patient. They are very accommodating to whatever needs you might have. Not to mention, this office is very efficient. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to see someone.
If English is not your first language, or you just feel more comfortable in communicating in another, free interpreting service is available. All you have to do is call and make arrangements with the office. The following languages are available for free of charge interpreting services:

Parking: Plenty of 2 hours street parking available. You can also park in the parking lot, but most of the time it’s filled since it is shared with Wells Fargo (also located in the same building).

Sometimes I find myself in weird and interesting situations. I wonder to myself why would I go to a Social Security Administration building? Than it dawns on me that I am coming here for a reason. Yes what reason might that be?
Well because I think someone is using my SS… oh man am I screwed is what I was thinking. While looking for parking which wasn’t hard to find. Park anywhere on the street of Greenleaf Ave. It is really pretty much close to the Wells Fargo Bank.
Soo recently I have been in the world of hate. I feel like everyone has been against me from the start but than I come here and my first thought was that it was going to be a really really long line, like the DMV… nope it was short and really quick.
First thing you do is sign in at this kiosk and than after that you sit down on these uncomfortable chairs and wait your turn. Someone on the left side of the window will call your number out.
Sigh of relief the person that helped me was really informative and also helpful. He did make jokes to make me smile and feel a bit like things will be alright… hopefully they will be that is all I hope for.
For this building and the employees everything was fast and very efficient they know what they are doing!
