Brand new to this office. Over the past month my 12 year old has received excellent ortho care. So far so good.

I don’t know where to begin with this review. Let me start with a little bit about myself… I have worked in the dental field for 10 years before and after I got married. I was lucky enough to assist and work front office for two excellent private dental practices. Both dentist did not use flyers nor advertisements to entice patients in. It was their excellent dental work that got their patients to refer more patients in. Patients traveled far from other cities to come to their practices. Where am I going with this? I’ve experienced working with good dentists who did superb work. I know and understand what to look for in a good private, dental practice and here are the reasons I chose Dr. Rains over many orthodontists in the area.
Positive #1– I was referred to Dr. Rains by two acquaintances who did not know each other… how funny is that?
Positive #2– Clean and sterile environment. All equipment and instruments are said to be sterile and they do follow CDA (CA. Dental Association) standards.
Positive #3-​Our first consultation — he wanted to wait on orthodontic services for my son. If you saw my son’s teeth (bless his heart) – it was soooo obvious he needed braces!
Why hold off? Because my son’s teeth were not fully in so it took 1 year before Dr. Rains decided it was time to proceed with orthodontic treatment. That’s awesome for two reasons because one, I knew Dr. Rains was like the old doctors I used to work for… not in it for the money but for the quality of their dental work. Secondly, did you know that movement of teeth when they’re not fully in could cause root resorption and that basically means «shrinking roots» which equals, future loose teeth.
Positive #4-​Friendly and professional staff. Gina, the front office manager/​receptionist is always happy and professional. She always accommodates you on their schedule book. My kids love her because she remembers things they told her at past appointments. The assistants are always kind and professional as well. They always get you in pretty quickly as we never really had to wait long. Which means they don’t overbook and doctor likes to take his time with each patient.
Positive #5– Dr. Rains will always take the time to chit chat and usually it’s something interesting for the kids. He wants to develop a personal relationship with his patients and their families. I like to chit chat, too so that’s a definite plus.
I hope this review helps those looking for a orthodontist. Dr. Michael Rains is an excellent orthodontist who believes in quality dentistry and that’s why I trust him with my kids orthodontic needs. Cheers Dr. Rains and staff… I’m glad I found you!

We love Dr. Rains. No bells and whistles at this office just a highly knowledgable, intelligent and friendly person. Thorough in his plan of care. We are really happy we chose him. The staff is super friendly too!

Excellent Dr. With Children very easy going, we came for 2 years until the Dr. Rains felt it was the right time. Can’t say enough so glad our friends recommend him. A+ find.
