Legacy Running

Great little store off the main drag in Uptown Whittier. Not a huge selection of shoes. I think i saw Asics, Brooks and another brand, but from what i hear, there a legite running store. My wife came here due to some problems on her feet. Dr recommend she come and get fitted for proper walking/​running shoes.
The clerk was real nice, and knew how to diagnose my wifes running pattern.
All in all good place.

Great service!!! I went in today to get a pair of running shoes. Me not being a running I didn’t know much and Travis explained to me what I need in a shoe by watching me walk and run. I got fitted for a great shoe and now I feel like I’m running on clouds. Thank you for you great service. Definitely coming back.
Plus he even sold me a shoe on sale.

I really like this store for their knowledgeable staff and good customer service. I will keep coming here for shoes, running gear and super feet inserts. If they had more running shoes I would rate them with 5 stars.

I’ve been here 3 times over the last few years, most recent visit was 2 weekends ago. I have always been treated very well at this store, and although I’ve only ever bought shoe laces here, they have awesome customer service no matter what you’re in need of. On my most recent visit there were 2 different «beginner» runners trying on shoes when I arrived. Terrance was the employee helping them both out and he was very knowledgable about shoe sizing, etc per each of their needs. He greeted me and let me know he would be with me as soon as he was done with them, so I grabbed a copy of the most recent Competitor Magazine and took a seat. Once the other 2 customers left, Terrance asked me about my running background and what brought me into the store that day (several visits to Snail’s Pace in Brea and i’ve never been asked that there). I explained that I needed to have my gait assessed so that I could sign up to be a Wear Tester with Brooks. He matched a shoe to my arch based on my input and he affirmed my assumption that I had a neutral gait. After I was done running on the treadmill, Terrance showed me some other Brooks shoe styles (in the catalog, since they don’t carry all of them) that would match my arch & gait the best.
I will always recommend this store over any other running specific retailer. They are FAR superior to Snail’s Pace — the few times I’ve been to the Brea location I’ve received horrible customer service by people who don’t even know very much about running. never go there, always go to Legacy Running.
Only 2 small things could be better about Legacy Running: holding «sales» and carrying more running apparel … That said, I still rate them a 5, because they are a small running specific store, and that just comes with the territory, so they are still a 5 star retailer

Very helpful staff. Has a good variety of shoes to choose from and they are informative about each individual shoe. If you have a specific need, feel free to ask them about it and I’m sure they will point u in the right direction.

I was feeling pretty bad when I walked in here. Feet and toes were in pain. Doctor recommended a pair of running shoes.
I explained my problem to the guy running the show here. Before u know it. I was dancing. Lol. Love this place. Pricey but who cares. When your feet hurt. Everything hurts

Glad I found this hidden place. What a difference the proper running shoe makes. I was having problems with my right ankle; they taught me some stretches and placed me in supportive shoes. Friendly staff. My go to place for running shoes from now on.

This place was fantastic. Mary helped me out. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and she immediately began to assist me. She provided me with a thorough evaluation as to how I walked and jogged, and even had me jog and walk in the store to see the motion of my feet. She didn’t try to up sell me on an expensive shoe. She presented me with a great shoe first try out and even had me go outside for a lil jog to make sure I was comfortable. I’m a new fan of this place. FYI, try and go there during the middle of the week midday if possible, this way you get their full attention.

I took my Mom to be fitted for running shoes due to the pain in the knees from lack of support on her previous shoes. I brought her to Legacy Running Store because of the great experience I had a few months before. Jennifer helped us and was so kind and patient. She is an experienced runner so she really knows what she is doing.
My Mom was definitely impressed and satisfied and left feeling inspired to walk and even run again! I will absolutely recommend this store to all of my friends.

Staff is so friendly and patient, very knowledgeable as well :) surprised to find a running store hidden away here, definitely highly recommended for anyone looking for attentive and friendly service!

Travis educated me a lot on shoes and i tried on the Brooks Beast and Adrenaline, both shoes are for flat footed runners, however I went on comfort before price, the Beast was a little too stiff and I went with the adrenaline 13, I was also steered toward the Addiction 10 however they did not have my size, So Travis had me try on the Addiction 11. Travis recommended to get two pair when you buy shoes and my first adrenaline’s are on 200 miles now. My best times have been accomplished with the Adrenaline 13. For the loyalty customer you will get 10% off and they welcome people from all walks. Kudos to Travis

I went into the store today for the first time. Jesse is the one who helped me, and he was great! I’ve just started running, and my feet were hurting from my previous shoes. While I walked around the store in the three different pairs he brought out, my feet were already feeling better (I had walked for 15 min earlier today in my old shoes, and my feet hurt a lot). He said if I go running and these shoes don’t end up working out, he said just make sure I have my receipt. Great customer service!

This place is a hidden gem in Uptown Whittier. I was recommended here by a friend and glad to have shown up. Staff is very friendly and they know what they are talking about. Travis is a trainer, therefor I sought advice from him regarding marathon training. Gave me a few tips on stretching and also was able to show me some gear that might help on my long runs.
I now go here to purchase my running GU instead of Big 5. If your getting into running, I’d recommend stopping in here and getting some input. You wont regret it.

To start, I know very little about running as a sport. Searching for a running store near La Mirada brought this place up and after watching the video I was convinced to stop by.
Travis (the guy from the video) was not only friendly, but extremely informative, explaining everything to me as he found different shoes that fit my running mechanics. He also pointed me to a shoe that was on sale rather than try to oversell me.
Usually when I get into a new hobby, half the fun is buying all the gear that goes with it (much to my wife’s dismay). Travis showed me accessories I could get, but again didn’t try to oversell me on anything and I was impressed.
Overall a great shop. If I need anything for my running hobby I know where to go first!

Disappointed!
Doors were closed, and nobody was there.
I tripled check the business hours, thinking I had come at the wrong time, but their website, facebook and door hanger all advertised the same business hours.
You’d think as a business you remain open the hours you advertise or put up a sign saying back in an hour, out to lunch or something.
I asked around and sounds like they do this often.

Being a local physical therapist in Whittier, I decided to check out this store in order to get a feel where I have been sending my patients to look for shoes. Plus, I need to get the proper running shoe for myself as I approach my next triathlon. I met with Travis, one of the owners (ownership has changed this past Feb).
As a PT, I pretty much knew my own foot mechanics, but clueless when it comes to choosing shoes. Proper shoewear is crucial for minimizing orthopedic injuries especially for the serious athlete/​competitor. Prior to visiting this store, I used to just buy whatever running shoe was on sale, not taking into consideration what type of shoe it was (i.e. cushioning, structural support, etc).
I was very pleased with the evaluation process and thus, the proper shoe recommendation. Travis assessed my walking gait, then brought out 5 different pairs of shoes ranging from New Balance, Asics, Brooks that provided some structural support to help my pronation. Normally, you would try 2 types of shoes on each foot at the same time to feel the differences. He also allows you to job outside on the sidewalk to test the shoes. They also have this cool, computerized foot pressure analyzer (think Wii-​Fit) that shows you your center of mass, weightbearing pressure points, leg length discrepancies.
Travis did take his time to explain things and did not pressure me at all to buy anything. They have a 30 day money back guarantee on the shoes, just in case they shoes do not work out. I ended up choosing the Asics. Btw, prices are decent compared to the bigger sporting goods store.
The best part is that they have a loyalty program for practitioners who send their patients or clients to the store. The referred clients/​patients will get 10%off their purchase. I will definitely send my patients here since 99% are wearing really old shoes or the wrong type of shoes!

These guys have a large selection of shoes, clothes and anything you could possibly want to run with. And their prices are great!!! Their also super knowledgeable, any question you may have their on top of it!
But most importantly… Every guy that works here… Sooo good looking!!! Ladies if you have to get running shoes why not go to a store that has it all and has some cute boys to look at!!! :)
