Really want to give the store my money but there is nobody to be found. I walked around the store hoping someone would come over here but still nothing. I called the store and apparently they’re looking for someone to help me. It’s been 25 minutes and still nothing. What the hell!

I love big lots. They have great deal and their products have improved! You can always get a good deal no matter what day of the week it is. They also have a club card where they email you coupons.

I’ve been to other Big Lots & this one is my least favorite. It’s a little bit organized, maybe they read the reviews about what a cluster mess it’s been(trying not to be naughty w/my language), but they still have a lot of items missing price tags & random scattered items throughout. Every time I’ve been there, it’s usually dead, yet there’s always just one cashier with a growing line of people accumulating. They have a lot of cute decorative stuff; especially around the holidays/seasons. Some of it though is bit pricey. Better off going to Target, than trying to save a few pennies here & there. Also, it use to be the go to place to find that certain item; now they have reformatted it so much, either they don’t always carry what you’d expect or they just did away with it — like the tool & automotive stuff in this store has been discontinued, yet I’ve seen it at the La Mirada store. The gift bags & party section is slim pickings. True you can go to Dollar Tree, 99 cents if you want to avoid going to Walmart, but it was nice when they use have an actual selection once upon a time. Christmas is the only time to find an abundance of it. Food section is Ok, has some unique items. Parking lot at night is still scary, even with Fresh & Easy being next to it, it’s just too dark and unsafe to go at night alone if your female. Positive note: It’s a local store, when they have good or cute items, jump on it, because they go fast and there is one little lady that I have to give praise about — the only plus plus about this particular store is that she’s been there a real long time, a veteran if you will and a true sweetheart!!! Be kind to her, she’s trying her best and you can tell she loves her job! Always smiling! I give her 5 stars.

The manager Karen that was there is horrible, she has attitude and should be able to help out her employees when they need help and instead of getting mad when customers ask questions. She should be able to calm her self and understand that she works in retail.

Some posters have said«the store is messy» it’s so true – i hate when i have be hunting for stuff that’s not on the right spot or when items are missing prices. With so many out of work Big lots could put some people to work, have them stock after business hours, make people accountable; the manager at this location is dropping the ball, they should replace this person. they need to do better; by the way the parking lot isn’t lit, its scary when you walk to your car after the sun goes down. Anyway i highly recommend the Big Lots in Cerritos – now that’s a neat well– maintained location, Whittier should take some tips from them!

I love this place! Bigger than most Big Lots locations, a huge furniture dept., very spacious and well lit. The parking is fucking huge and the main reason I love this place: It’s in Whittier where the girls are prettier! (Ladies don’t hate, that shit just rhymed)

Normally Big Lots is the kind of store where most of them have little difference from one another. and that may be true, but this one is close to my house, so i come here every so often, normally to look at thier movies section.

The original poster makes many good points from 2009, I have been here in 2011 and I do see some messy aisles and a limited selection. They have a variety of items which may not have sold at other stores and many new items as well. Sometimes I like coming here just to purchase toys for kids as they have great prices on many toys. The store on Washington seems to have a larger toy selection. I saw many items to organize your house and school supplies which were fairly competitive on price. They had old movies and video games for sale. They have a series of aisle with electrical supplies, auto supplies, bedding, bath and décor, kitchen, incidentals and electronics. Appx half of this store was various furniture including tables, desk, ottomans, chairs and sofas. The prices were ok but the selection was not huge. The first cashier was slow but a young latin male opened a line grabbed us, put us in a new checkout line and we were on our way. The parking here is great and the proximity to the Whittier Quad with video games, clothes and Thrifty ice cream is nice too. Not the greatest Big Lots, they have some greats but I will probably still come back.

I have been to many Big Lots stores but this one isnt very good. The other poster gave Big lots a 5 star rating because how great Big Lots is, and I do agree its an awesome company. but this location? Crappy selection, messy aisles and even when you use your ATM card they don’t give cash back. I have experienced a lot better at other Big Lots. Only come here if you live in a 1 – 2 mile radius!
