Great spot! we stumbled upon this little café in uptown Whittier and were really impressed. Came in at lunch time and loved the homemade bread and chimichurri! our waiter was very helpful and friendly as well! Will definitely come back!

We came here a few times for breakfast and usually enjoyed the food. However service has been inconsistent. Today service is very slow. We waited a long time for our orders to be taken and waited even longer time for the check. Only come if you have the time and patience to wait around.

First time at this restaurant. Ordered the Entraña Argentinian style with side of braised vegetables. Amazing. Also, their chimichurri is delicious!

Great menu — good service and something Whittier really needs. Highly recommend for casual lunch or breakfast.
Bacon cheese Chicken and waffle with eggs was really good. Not Roscoes good but Whittier good. I will be back. Side note, the bread and salty butter with pesto they serve gratis is the best thing, very reputable owner. Took care of an issue with my bill promptly !!

When this place first opened my husband and I really enjoyed it! Ingredients seemed fresh, house made recipes, it was simple and good. I do feel the last year or so there has been a decline in the quality of the food. The menu is very random and all over the place and the food quality has gone down quite a bit. The décor is also very off-​putting. It definitely needs to be revamped and remodeled– I’m only pointing this out because a restaurant needs to be ascetically appealing to add to the dining experience. Sorry Baileys!

The food was fantastic, any dish on the menu is recommended. The waitress did a very fabulous job, she was very attentive and very helpful. The food was so good, we had to take some for dinner.

My fiancé and I came here because the reviews on Unilocal seemed inviting. After we go there everying seemed fine and then right above the fireplace we see fat cockroach. We didn’t leave because the order was placed. Although our waiter was nice he pretented like it never happened we expected an apology or a little off the bill or an explanation something.

Excellent food. We’ve had the steak sandwich, Cuban sandwich and bacon burger. Great bread with sauce to start. The only con I have, is that the service was not the best and extremely slow both times we’ve been. Also, pay attention to the hours, we got there one night at 7 and they were closing.

The service at this place is always pretty slow. There was only one waitress that was waiting on the entire section of the restaurant that we were sitting in.
They gave us a basket of bread with no waters, and by the time we finished it we were dying of thirst.
Every time my bf & I come here they are «always out» of whatever we order. Very disappointing.
They burnt my bf’s steak, but they gladly replaced it and took one of our drinks off the bill, which was nice. May or may not be returning.

I came to have breakfast with my husband and mother and came across this little gem of a place in uptown Whittier. We had no expectations what so ever. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a warm welcome and seated immediately.
The menu had options for all of us! American, Mexican, Etc. I was amazed by tasty and delicious my omelette was. My husband ordered a The chorizo breakfast plate and it was on point! Can’t forget the short stack of pancakes with bananas and strawberries. DEELISH!
The highlight of this visit was owed to the amazing service we received by our server Emmanuel aka Manny! This gentleman catered to our every need! And did it with such pleasure! Always smiling and so attentive. I appreciated that he took the time to address my mother in Spanish. A very kind gesture. Emmanuel is one of a kind! A 1 Customer service! I was a server for years so I know first hand how difficult the job can be and this gentleman enjoys what he does and does it well.
All in all, I highly recommend this place, a must visit when in Whittier. Amazing food and amazing service. 5 stars! Looking forward to my next visit!

Many places to eat near Whittier College. We walked around for awhile. Decided to check out this place.
Several people inside.
We finally placed our order. Got chips to munch on while waiting for our food. Tasty chips. Our food took awhile, so I asked for more chips. By this time, they weren’t giving chips anymore, but instead serving bread. The bread came with a dip that tasted garlicky. So good! My water had lemon and cucumber slice. Loved it. Never saw that before! Usually it’s just a slice of lemon.
Our food was finally ready. Good portions. I generally love florentine omelette, but I didn’t like the sauce topping mine.
Would I go back? Sure, but I think I want to check out the other places first.

Emanuel was amazing and so was the food ! We tried three different dishes and everything was delish! I highly recommend the entraña ! Service was excellent from the moment we arrived. We will definitely be back here soon !

Once again another excellent meal at BSK! The shrimp tacos were great, loved the crunchy Cole slaw topping. The steak sandwich was one of the best I’ve tasted, the crispy onion strings were the perfect touch! The only thing I would change is leaving the powdered sugar off the sweet potato fries.
But the service, as usual, was excellent, friendly, helpful, and attentive. It’s my go-​to place in Whittier! And consistently good!

Good for Sunday brunch.
Service was a bit mediocre;we were also sat all the way in the back and tables were not set-​up. Our server was the only one taking care of the back area, I hope that was the only reason why the service was so slow.

Sorry Bailey Street Kitchen, I really wanted to like you. I had heard great things from family, but was extremely disappointed by your poor customer service. It took us one hour to get our food (we were only a party of 2!) and four other parties who came in after us got served before us. We ordered simple dishes and you still got them wrong. When we told your server, he gave us only $ 2 off of our total bill, much less than I was expecting.
The beans & chips were great, and the food was okay, but I won’t be coming back.

So i was coaching at Whittier high school and thought I’d try something reviewed on Unilocal with high stars. The restraint is quaint, very nice ambience. I went here with my boss. Our table was wobbly but the water actually noticed and fixed it right away.
Ok so the food…
I got the fried chicken and waffle. It had eggs, bacon, and a light Gravy. It was outstanding, one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Unfortunately my boss wasn’t impressed, he ordered a meat lovers omelet and they brought the wrong one, but the replaced it and apologized. When he did finally get what he ordered it was ok, I let him try my dish, he said it was waaaaayyyyy better then what he got. We also got 10% off by checking in with Unilocal so that was cool. I would recommend this place and get what I ordered, it was out of this world goooooood!

As I suspected, their lunch and dinner options were better than their breakfast.
Since my first visit, I have ordered the chicken parmigiana and the shrimp fra diavolo, which were both delicious.
Whatever they do to their pasta sauce blows my mind. It tastes better than any pasta sauce I have ever had.
The service is excellent and the ambiance is lovely.

Pretty decent restaurant located in the Uptown Whittier area. I know for a fact that they’re only a few good restaurants in this particular area I prefer going to. And this is actually one of them.
Food:Ordered a Penne Alfredo with chicken (penne pasta in homemade alfredo sauce with chicken and broccoli. For the best quality of the entrée, I’ve made sure to add some Parmesan cheese and black pepper. I really love the flavor of the pasta, chicken, and broccoli. I also got a side salad which I forgot the name of it, it was fine. I wanted the creamy broccoli soup, but for some reason the soup was unavailable, so I ended up with the salad. Maybe next time for the soup. Oh and I was given complimentary bread while I wait for my lunch.
Drink: Strawberry lemonade… gotta love it.
Service: Not bad for my first visit. The servers are pretty honest and knowledgeable.
Parking: Parking can be a pain sometime, depending what time you show up in Uptown. I do highly recommend parking in the 4 hour public parking behind the Whittier Village Cinema.
Overall: It was great. I would come here again soon. 4 out of 5 stars.

What a cute restaurant in a quaint part of Whittier!
I was ~10 minutes late to the reservation I made on a Saturday morning (unexpected traffic!!), and one of the servers was kind enough to hold my reservation until I arrived. It tends to get busy around lunchtime from 11:30am onwards, so if you don’t want to wait, I would say make a reservation.
My family and I ordered the breakfast French toast, a short stack of pancakes, the California grilled chicken wrap, and the bass picatta. The French toast was dense and a mouthful of breakfasty sweetness. The short stack of pancakes were fluffy and huge, so be sure to bring your appetite if you decide to go for them. The bass was a little too lemony for me and even the capers were exuding citrus, so it wasn’t my favorite. But the fish was definitely tender and again, generously portioned. Last but not least, how can anyone not like a grilled chicken wrap? Tender chicken and flavorful healthy fillings, half a wrap is bound to fill you up, leaving you with leftovers for a later meal (or snack if you fancy). Although you may just end up eating it all because it’s just that good.
And before I forget, the coffee was pretty aromatic, but not a fan of the unrefrigerated Mini Moo’s. I’m more of a fresh milk or cream gal with my coffee, but black was just fine with me.
Overall, great taste, generous portion size, and amazing service. It’s an affordable restaurant to check out, and definitely something I’d come back to if I’m in the area.

Ordered the grilled chicken wrap with an upgrade to truffle fries. The wrap was a bit bland for my liking. I ended up adding a bit of ranch to give it some flavor. The truffle fries were very light, which I liked. Not very oily at all, which was good for me. The portion sizes were perfect. Just enough to get you full but not over eat.
The service was just ok. We had to call our waiter over to get more water and extra little things. It was a nice place to try, but it didn’t make a big enough impression to where Id come back. Only if I’m very local.
