A Foot and Ankle diagnostic and treatment facility located in Manhattan and White Plains that is dedicated to relieving pain and getting patients quickly back on their feet and living a normal life. The four expertly trained Podiatric specialists, Dr. Josef Geldwert, Dr. Katherine Lai, Dr. Ryan Minara and Dr. Mariola Rivera are committed to finding the most effective and current techniques for treating foot and ankle disorders. With a combined 70 years of experience the doctors have treated over 40,000 sports injuries and have performed over 10,000 surgical procedures for the repair of bunions, hammertoes and flatfeet. The doctors are affiliated with outstanding academic centers; Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, Montefore Medical Center and White Plains Hospital. They are members of the teaching faculty of Mt. Sinai Medical School and the Faculty practice of Beth Israel Hospital and serve as Medical Directors for the NYC Triathlon and Hamptons Marathon
History
Established in 1990.
The Center for Podiatric Care and Sports Medicine was established by Dr. Josef Geldwert in 1990 on the upper eastside of Manhattan. Dr. Geldwert, an avid runner, believed that understanding how someone walks, runs or stands is extremely important to properly evaluating and relieving a patients pain. In 2009 he opened another facility in White Plains. Today there are 3 doctors in the group, Dr. Katherine Lai, and Dr. Ryan Minara .Each of the doctors are committed to providing the highest care to relieve their patients pain.

Our Director, NY Podiatrist, Dr. Josef J. Geldwert is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a recognized authority on the most advanced surgical techniques to correct bunions and hammertoes. His associate in practice, Dr. Katherine Lai is Board Certified in Foot Surgery and has lectured extensively on The Diabetic Foot and Wound Care and on the Scope and Practice of Holistic Podiatry at an Integrative Medicine conference. Dr. Ryan Minara completed a 4 year Foot and Ankle residency from NY Hospital Queens where he was the Chief Resident. His focus in practice is on the treatment of complex foot and ankle problems. Dr. Nadia F. Levy completed her three year residency in foot and ankle surgery at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut where she served as Chief Resident her final year. She has extensive training in bunion surgery, diabetic wound care, foot deformities, cosmetic foot issues and sports injuries.
