I only tried take out here, but the food was horrible and didn’t have any flavor. I don’t recommend going here. If you want good thai food try Little Thai Kitchen.

Do not go there. You will regret! Food is awful, service is no better. The good reviews you see here are either from good olé days, or from people with low bar set, or made up stories.

It was HORRIBLE. Dont be fooled by the décor… Its nice and all… But i had the pad thai & omg i wanted to vomit. I had more veggies than noodles in my plate… Actually, i pretty much ate bean sprouts. It was disgusting. It had no flavor, it was the definition of bland. My partner had red curry w/chicken & the curry left a horrible after taste! I really wanted to leave so we paid and left more than 50% of the food untouched.

Pls don’t go here! Service n food sucks balls. There’s this petite short lady with a fresh mouth. I asked for a lemon for the water, she brings out the skinniest sliced lemon possible! Waste of money and time. If you want real Thai food, go elsewhere please! PS: don’t buy the groupon deal either because the deal says one thing n then when u go there they limit you on the good food. I bought the groupon for $ 30 and ended up spending another $ 25! They add gratuity tip n everythin they can!

Wow! My husband and I came here for Valentine’s Day and I had the best time. We’ve been in White Plains for the past 13 years and I everytime we drive by here, I tell my husband,“ohmygod, that restaurant looks so cute”. We live so close to Reka’s that we always overlooked it and never had dinner. So I noticed that Groupon has a special and a really good one at that, so I went to the Groupon site to read the fine print(if any) and see if we can use for Valentine’s Day. And no they don“t honor the Groupon deal on Valentine’s Day. So… I told my husband about it, and he was determined to go to Reka’s regardless deal or no deal. I was excited because finally the restaurant that I always found cute and quaint, we’re finally going. I had made reservations around noon for 7:30 seating. The restaurant is cute and spacious from the outside, Reka’s looks small but once inside, it’s pretty big. It was pretty crowded and had a nice mix of people. There was a guitarist playing really cool sounding music. We ordered the Fresh Squid salad which was awesome. Our entrees were great as well. I was just in awed because finally we had dinner. I’m a convert, Reka’s is the place where my husband and I find ourselves having more dinners and try their brunch.

Service was horrifically slow and food was mediocre at best. Worse, though we specifically spoke to our waitress about the severe food allergy of one person in our party, when they ran out of one appetizer they substituted one that was made of peanuts. We barely received an apology and certainly no comp on any portion of the check. Instead, they charged us 5 dollars extra for supposedly ordering something not covered by Groupon. Another in our party was sick the entire night after dinner. I know Reka’s has been around for a long time. I just don’t understand why.

Had been here recently and was disappointed! We were the only customers(later realized why) . Not so welcoming atmosphere, disinterested servers, taste of the food has deteriorated. Old table cloth, fake flowers! Try only if you walk to this place. If you can drive, try any other Thai place.

So sad to have to come on here and leave a less than spectacular review for this place. We had the groupon for 4 which came with4 Thai salads, 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and a bottle of wine. The only restrictions was a page of specials and the bottle of wine could be up to $ 29, so pretty decent selection of things to order. The thai salad was delicious with a flavorful peanut dressing and fried tofu. We ordered two more salads as appetizers, the fresh squid and a chicken salad. Both were very flavorful with fresh ingredients. At this point I was quite excited for our entrees since everything so far was wonderful. We ordered 2 pork entrees, a seafood entrée and the frog legs as recommended by our server who stated that the seafood dish and the frog legs would be spicy. Having read other reviews about the spice here that is exactly what I wanted since I love spicy thai food. Our entrees came and man were they all a disappointment… every single one was as bland as bland could be. Serving sizes were good and the meat and veggies seemed to be cooked well, but I couldn’t have eaten a blander meal if I had shoved white rice and mashed potatoes in my mouth. So very very disappointing, especially after the good start we had. Please note that we even stated when ordering that we wanted spicy food. Really not sure what the issue was, but the best compliment about our entrees at our table came from the youngest among us who exclaimed that the white rice was delicious. I would give this three stars because the appetizers were really quite good, but 3 good salads don’t outweigh 4 mediocre entrees. For those with groupons or other specials, tax is not included so despite having the groupon we still paid almost $ 40 in tax plus the tip. Definitely a huge disappointment this evening and kind of embarrassing since we got this for our family while visiting during Christmas. Not recommended.

There is nothing average about Reka’s. It is not horrible but everything about the place from the décor to the food quality to the drinks to the temperature are well below average.

I don’t think the bad reviewers have been here because the food is excellent as well as the service! I’ve lived in this area for more than 20 years but have never tried Rekas and now I can highly recommend if!

Meh — I’ll go elsewhere for Thai food next time. Came here with a Groupon — 2 salads, 1 app + 2 entrees… When we arrived at ~8 on a Saturday night, the hostess asked if we had called ahead. I scanned the less than half full dining room and said no. She said, OK, we’ll take you anyway. We were seated by another woman, who threw the menus at the table and walked in the opposite direction, without so much as a glance at us. Not a great start. We thought the salad dressing atop the iceberg lettuce and white tomatoes was really tasty. The Mee Grob appetizer was also good — what’s not to love about noodles deep fried and sugary. We ordered our entrees at a 3⁄5 on the spicy scale… this was a huge mistake. We like spicy, but this was barely edible. Also, my Gang Pug(described as Bamboo shoots, mushrooms, tofu, and vegetables cooked in Thai curry and coconut milk.) was mostly crinkle cut carrots and a couple of army green colored broccoli. I counted 2 mushrooms and 2 pieces of tofu. The coconut curry seemed like it had a good flavor, but hard to tell behind the spice. And, according to my husband, the Pad Thai was meh, he’s had better. And the thing that annoyed us the most was that our $ 2.50 diet cokes were not free refills, we received no water, nor were we informed of this fact, and given that we were pretty thirsty from the spicy meals… we spent WAAAY more on soda than we would have liked.

Reka’s is one of the few restaurants from my childhood that is still around … that alone should be a testament to the quality of its food. Thai isn’t one of my favorites cuisines, but I have fond memories of consistently delicious, unique dishes and friendly service here from when I was a kid. Bringing Brian and our son for the first time this past week, it was immediately apparent that NOTHING about the décor had changed(you know I’ve watched too many episodes of Restaurant: Impossible when I start envisioning what Robert Irvine and I would do with a $ 10,000 budget at this place). I was concerned that the food wouldn’t be as good as I remembered, but that wasn’t the case at all: the peanut dressing on the salad was still as refreshing and yummy as I remember. The Chive Dumplings were plump and melted in our mouths, and the kari puff was surprisingly light. Brian was surprised at how refreshing the Butternut Squash soup was, especially since coconut milk was one of the main ingredients. I had the Masman Neau(which I’d never tried). The beef was tender and the masman curry, which I’ve often found to be very heavy and overwhelming at other Thai restaurants, perfectly complemented the beef and potatoes without overpowering them. Brian got pork fried rice and chicken pad thai. He thought the chicken was a little tough, but otherwise the flavors were on point. His lunch special came with a dessert of purple rice and I ordered the fresh mangoes with sweet rice — so delicious. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart. She brought us complimentary tofu because I mentioned that my son loves it, and she checked on us often to make sure we were satisfied with everything. At the very end of our meal, Reka herself came in and stopped by our table to say hi. She was as nice and personable as I remember when the restaurant first opened. It was so cool having this experience with my family, and I’m hopeful that my son will get to grow up coming here like I did.

Horrible. If you ever had real, authentic Thai food… let’s say not even in Thailand, but places like SriPraPhai, Nyonya, etc. in NYC… this food is still unacceptable. And then the small details, like their«House Salad» is basically like a free salad from an Italian American establishment: 3 pieces of tomato circles, 4 pieces of cucumber circles on some bad lettuce with a gallon of sugary water for dressing. Whaaaaaat?! NEVER will touch this place again with a ten foot pole!

Not worth going. We got a coupon with 4ppl going for $ 70. After that, we still need to pay $ 40 more for tip and tax. Food is below ok, but you could find something better in the area.

Went here a year ago and found that the flavors were not to my liking, bland and odd. There were 4 of us and I had tried each dish a bit. I think the cuisine is truly authentic, but perhaps a bit too authentic because I’m used to the westernized flavors of Thai food. If you’re up for exotic, I think this could be a good place for you. I think the pricing was a bit excessive, but the service was good, owner was nice and good atmosphere.

I hadn’t been to Reka’s in over a decade, and was happy to get the Living Social deal to revisit my former Thai haunt. The owner is very personable and the service is attentive. Décor is very drab and depressing; worse than I remembered. I had the broiled seafood basket with cabbage and cellophane noodles, and asked for a little spice. It looked like they just sprinkled crushed red pepper on top, but it blended well with the brown garlic sauce. Hubby had the chicken with mushroom and onion in garlic sauce, which he enjoyed. Once considered the best Thai in the area, Reka’s portions have shrunk and quality has suffered a bit, but the meal was solid.

My boyfriend and I hesitated over eating here because of the poor reviews, but I had a gift certificate, so we decided to give it a try and were glad we did. We had four dishes, and only one was a miss: the tom kha tha-le. It was okay but not great; it tasted mostly of lime juice and was on the thin side. On the other hand, the mee grob was fantastic, crunchy and fresh without being too sweet or sticky. I had the Goong-Op-Mor-Din, shrimp cooked in a clay pot with napa cabbage and cellophane noodles. It was delicious; the shrimp were perfectly cooked and the broth was yummy. David had the green curry shrimp, and said it was also spot on(I didn’t taste it, as I was too busy enjoying my own). The place was nearly empty(there was only one other occupied table), so service was quite attentive. It’s a bit dim, but that makes for a romantic evening, and isn’t all that important on a winter night anyway. We will definitely be back.
