Very authentic, delicious Chinese food. I recently had the pork tripe and pickled cabbage soup followed by pork in hot peppers and peanuts. Both were fantastic. My wife had a sashimi combo and the waitress gladly accommodated my wife’s request to substitute one of the fish selections. This is our new go-to for authentic Chinese food

I am a fan of this place for many many many years. It is consistently good for my fix of good and authentic Chinese food(gotta know what you are ordering). The Sichuan food has been consistently very very good for the past 5 years(at least). Hence that is pretty much the menu that I select from. I know my Chinese food and the best places are in Flushing and the City. However, for Westchester, the Sizchen food here will not disappoint. I tend to order the following… Twice cook pork(real bacon meat cuts), Dry sauté green beans, Cumin Lamb, Mapo tofu, and spicy pot with fish(sometimes with beef). The food for me for the most part deserves five stars. I take away one point for SOME of the waiter staff as well as the condition of the building.

Unilocal is not really a good application to find out if the restaurant is good or not. You just have to try yourself. Their food is pretty good. You just need to know what you’re ordering from the menu.

Do not go here to eat. the owner is very rude. I had a living social certificate i purchased for the restaurant which she would not honor. She refused to honor it even after I told her my party of three would never return. This is not the first time I was treated poorly at this restaurant(thought I’d give them another chance but my mistake). I will never return and you should not either!!!

If we consider both quality of food and price, this might actually be the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Remarkably bad, but they have a captive audience, and are remarkably busy. Totally blows my mind. Yuck.

This is some of the most repulsive chow mein I have ever ordered. The management also has some of the worst customer service. After asking if I could swap my particularly slimy chow mein for a different dish I was told that I was«wrong» and not allowed to send anything back. The woman actually raised her voice at me saying«at peter Lugers you can’t send back a steak you don’t like». I couldn’t believe their reaction. Extremely rude and unaccommodating. For the high prices you can find much more authentic Asian food with polite staff.

It’s crazy how low the rating is for this place and it is completely unjust. Being an avid Chinese food eater, this place is really legit. You’ll get none of that crappy Americanized Chinese food there and instead you’ll find a spice and Sichuan heaven.

It seems the criteria for being employed at this restaurant is you have to be rude, unfriendly and miserable. The food was good, but we had to return the silverware because it was filthy.

Really amazing place. We had the ants climbing a tree(pork with cellophane noodle), a wok-fried Chinese water spinach, and a stir-fried chicken dish. Also had the tendon, tripe, and beef marinated in Szechuan spicy sauce(cold dish) as appetizer. Everything was extremely flavorful and filling. Very impressed with the infusion of spice. Focus primarily on the featured Szechuan and Hunan dishes. The only minor complaint was that the cellophane noodle with pork dish could have been not mixed ahead of time, so that when you eat the noodle, the sauce will naturally attach itself to the noodles.

Chinese food as is. Not modified at all. Within 25 miles, this is the only one attracting me!

OK, so my wife said to try them again, because we’ve been customer’s for so long and we did. At first I was shaking my head, because they forgot to deliver the sushi order.(I still tipped 15%) and the kid was back here with the order very fast. He ran from his car to my door, I mean he RAN. The last order had no flavor and now they kinda screwed up the delivery, but the food was GOOD again. I’m happy. I’m glad the flavor is back. We must have had a really bad chief when we ordered in September. I like the people there and I’m glad I’m happy with the taste again.

I usually enjoy this place. But whoever was the cook on Friday 8÷20÷15 needs to go. You should have been ashamed selling me this inedible food. I purchased 4 lunch specials for take out which are reasonably priced. None of my friends enjoyed their meals and mine was inedible. The fried rice was overcooked and over sticky. The sauce in the shrimp and lobster sauce meal was over salty, water-downed and nauseating. The shrimp was overcooked and mushy. I spit out the wonton soup(how on earth can an Asian restaurant screw up wonton soup?!) which was completely unseasoned and tasteless. I passed it around and no one could believe how disgusting it was. Used dishwater comes to mind. I have been here other times when the food was amazing. If Friday’s chef is used in a different capacity the place should be fine. But he/she should be nowhere near a kitchen.

It’s kind of blowing my mind how low the reviews on Unilocal are here for imperial wok. I’ve been coming to this place for over 3years. Speaking from an ethnic Chinese perspective, hands down they’ve got the best authentic Sichuan and Taiwanese family style dishes for a solid 20 mile radius of the area. Skip the Americanized Chinese food lunch special items entirely, and order from the authentic Sichuan, Taiwanese, and chefs specialty menu section. You won’t be disappointed.(Ok to be fair, prepare for a long lunch because the food does take a while to come out). Never tried the sushi here. But Sichuan and home style Taiwanese they do very very well!

I would give negative stars if Unilocal allows me to do so. 30MINUTESNOMEAL. This restaurant just took the SLOWEST restaurant record in my life so far.

Have been going here for at least 15 years. Here recently things seemed to be going down hill. We went there today and saw what was a large mouse or small rat running across the floor. Won’t be going back needless to say.

I am not sure where the other reviewers have eaten Chinese food other than here, but it is safe to say this is the worst take out Chinese food I have had in quite some time. We recently moved to the area, so were looking for a new place for take out. For starters, this place is way overpriced. I would pay if the quality justified it. It does not. Let’s start with the crab rangoons — completely flavorless. Then there was the sesame chicken and lo mein. What a waste. The chicken was dry dry dry and again had no flavor. The lo mein was mediocre at best. Id rather get a frozen dinner at stop and shop then give this place money again.

This place is where my wife and I go when we want some good Chinese food as well as sushi. The lunch special for sushi is priced well.

This has always been my go to for delivery and I frequently ate here with my parents and on my own. The food is good. It’s «American» Chinese food. The only thing I would correct is the attitude of the people taking phone orders. They are very unfriendly and curt. If you want real and excellent Chinese food in Westchester, go to Central Seafood on Central Ave. Oh my! Just saw the picture of the roach in the lo mein. I’m not order from here again.

My second go-to Chinese take out(to Bao’s), but my first choice for Chinese eat-in in the White Plains area. Sure, there are 9 million«asian fusion» spots in the area, but if you want legit, traditional Chinese(American) food, we love Imperial Wok. The atmosphere reminds me so much of Chinese restaurants from when I was a kid, before most of the other«Asian» subtypes were popular. Definitely shows its age, but o find it charming. Food is standard Chinese food. The highlights for us are their scallion pancakes, which are made super thin, not particularly crispy but delicious. Big fan of their Wonton Soup, too. Not too salty and full of wontons. Entrees, I tend to go simple with chicken & mixed veggies with rice or something along those line — always good. The other half is a big fan of the orange beef, which really is delicious. The only entrée I’ve ever been disappointed in was the scallops — had a weird after taste to them. I do prefer the food at Bao’s if I’m ordering out, but don’t discount Imperial Wok, especially if you’re looking to dine in.
