Great experience and very professional! First timer for laser and felt completely relaxed can’t wait for end result!

The only thing that could make my facial spa way-​y-​y more relaxing is, if at the end, I just lay there… But snap out of it, because that wasn’t happening. (More on this comment later…). By far the most attentive front desk service at a skin care salon in Westchester. Hilda Dermijian’s spa, is well known in the White Plains area on Mamaroneck Avenue offering high quality and luxurious services.
Since most of my afternoons are pretty much open, Mr. Man, purchased a facial spa treatment. My hope was to tone up my skin and surrender in relaxation. Lately, my facial treatments have become a necessary expense. At times, my face takes a beating, as a result of wearing too much makeup during my work week. Every once in a while, I have to put the au naturale look in order– quick, by the time weekend comes and give my face some breathing. I’m not prone to acne, but, I do want to maintain some sort of freaking sanity by having decent skin.
The front of the Dermijian is attractive and well lit, offering a nice variety of lotions and cleansers. (I was not ready to purchase the abundance of serums during this visit). The receptionist brought me over to the back of the spa, to lounge for a bit, while I sipped my tea. Soon after, my esthetician introduced herself and made me feel very comfortable. She was very thorough and pushed all my gazillion curls away from my face using a soft headband. She asked me a few questions and used a magnifying lamp to examine my skin. And let the pampering begin… her hands were silky soft against my face. Estheticians here, use the latest in skincare methods providing great care tailored to your skin type.
Hilda Dermijian is worth of a visit. However, my biggest pet peeve was not relaxing after my massage. Wouldn’t you like to lounge just for a few minutes after your spa experience and get your bearings straight? I know I would! Dermijian’s sessions do not allow you to have some breathing room and I would’ve liked that a lot. Other than that glitch, I would like to reschedule and experience their other services.

I bought a groupon for two facials. Had my first facial today with Stephanie and was very happy with the treatment. The atmosphere was very clean, relaxing and spa-​like. No pressure to buy products, which I appreciate. I’ll be happy to redeem my groupon for the other facial.

Had a Groupon for a 60 min massage. Got to my appt 5 min early and was not greeted and told by Hilda, who was behind the desk «GO SIT IN THE BACK» She did not bother to greet me or tell me there was no massuese for me. She came in the back 5 minutes after my treatment was to start and put me in a room. AND STILL NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHERE THE MASSUESE WAS. She never said she was going to be late or anything. I came out to ask where the M was and she had the nerve to ask me «Why? Where do you need to go?» She then switched me to a different room (STALL TACTIC) and I waited another 5 minutes. When I came out I told the front desk to UNREDEEM my Groupon. Hilda and I argued. I told her how unprofessional and nasty she was and she told me «GET OUT». I did so happily. BEWARE.

I saw a groupon for this place and i called them and made an appointment for a back facial. When I arrived I was surprised on how nice the place looked. The receptionist was friendly. The lady who did my facial introduced her self, her name was Shamsa and she led me back to the room. The room had nice blue walls soft music. The bed was comfortable. The back facial was relaxing and the time went very fast! This was my first back facial and I appreciated that the lady took the time to explain what was happening but with out over doing it ! I will definitely be coming back to get a regular facial with Shamsa !

This was my second facial ever, at 55+. I had a Groupon for the 45 minute European Facial. Really nice: comfortable room, careful and thorough work on my face, neck and shoulders. All the products smelled good and, most importantly, my skin looks better even three days later. The staff were professional and helpful. And amazingly, once the session was over, there was no push to sell me products. I’ll be back.

The amusing follow up email directly from Hilda (note: not as polite as the response on Unilocal) and my reply back.

My response:
«Thank you so much for your email, as I needed an amusing break in what was otherwise a long day of work. I truly look forward to hearing from your attorney. Perhaps he or she can explain to me how someone who claims to be a professional in the service industry can get away with false and misleading advertising and failing to stand behind her written commitment to the customer. Of course, as you well know, I am referring to your Groupon advertisement, wherein it expressly states that „Laser specialist, Hilda Demirjian, shines infared light over the skin for 10 – 15 minutes…“ (I’ve attached a copy of the Groupon advertisement for both you and your attorney to review). These are your words, not mine, and as the customer, I can only rely on your words. Or at least I thought I could, but I very quickly learned that I could not rely on your word. Contrary to your claim that the 10 – 15 minutes includes the „consultation,“ your ad is very clear that the laser itself will be used on the skin for 10 – 15 minutes. The ad says nothing about the laser only being used for 10 seconds total (breaking down to 5-​seconds/​eye), with the „consultation“ taking up the balance of that time. And while you were quick to blame Groupon for what you claimed to be an error in the ad, I’m sure your attorney can explain to you how, as the merchant, you, and you alone, are responsible for ensuring that the Groupon listing is worded correctly. And I’m sure your attorney can further explain to you that a failure on your part to provide the services as they are described in your ad amounts to a breach of contract. So yes, I would love the opportunity to speak with your attorney. And thank you for cancelling my next scheduled appointment. I’m sure I can find something else to fill those 10 seconds that you would have spent on me.»

Hilda Demirjian can be a very charming woman. I wanted to remove with laser many brown sun/​age spots on my arms. She told me that of course her laser could do that. She quickly told me that she would give me a «deal» if she also did the laser on my chest and on my face to tighten the skin, lessen wrinkles, etc. With her assurances of success, I agreed to pay her «deal» price of $ 10,000! I explained that I was starting this in February so that by the summer I would be more comfortable wearing short sleeve shirts. Well, there has been absolutely no change in anything that she did the laser on. I have the same exact brown spots on my arms and chest, and the exact same wrinkles on my face. It is as if no treatment was done at all. I asked Hilda for a partial refund based on the total failure of her treatment, and how much I paid her. Her response was that I was trying to extort her and that her «lawyers» would get in touch with me. Of course no lawyer got in touch with me. Of course she didn’t return any money.
She is not a trustworthy person. Her main interest, as I have seen in many on line reviews, is money. When first meeting her, I asked why she had so many negative reviews. She said that these were all competitors and that her «lawyers» were going after them. I wonder if they were the same lawyers that were going to be in touch with me.
Be careful, people.

I just read Hilda’s response to my review. She references a contract I signed. There was no contract. If there was a contract, as she should have, it would say something about the treatments not always working, or working in 75% of the cases, or something. But there was no contract at all. AND, I paid an additional $ 1,000+ over the $ 10,000 for a series of facials and for products. Yes, Hilda gave me a few products without charge, but I paid more than $ 700 for a series of facials and several hundred dollars for products. The facialists, her facialists, told me that the products HIlda had given me must have been a mistake, because they were causing my skin to break out. I am over 60 years old, and I had not had pimples in decades, until using the products that HIlda gave me. I am sure that she did not intend to give me the wrong products, but she didn’t take the time to examine my skin to give me the correct products for my oily skin type.

Bought a groupon for a massage and facial. Called the following week and they said that they no longer had a masseuse. Ok? How can you have a live groupon promotion offering a massage with no masseuse? This was in January and they said in June they should have one. They offered two facials instead of the massage, but I primarily bought the deal for the massage, so I had my facial and waited until June for the massage. When I called in June to schedule the massage they informed me that they no longer offer massages. What BS! Whatever, I put on a happy face and got a second facial but I will not be back! I feel like I got scammed into buying the groupon in the first place on false pretenses. If your masseuse leaves and you have an offer on groupon you hire a new one; isn’t that common business sense!
Outside of that, the spa itself isn’t luxurious at all. The «waiting room» has a display case of their products, no food and water from a cooler. You do not change into your robe first and relax in the room, but rather wait there for a couple of minutes before the professional doing your service comes to pick you up. I can’t complain about the quality of the facial once or friendliness of the staff. My skin felt very nice when I left but they tried to upsell me the entire time.

I have been going to Hilda for years and my face has never looked better! Don’t make judgments based on the comments of a few, see for yourself, she really cares about getting your skin perfect! I appreciate her professionalism and dedication.

I bought Groupons twice. The first time, I bought 1 and had a facial, no problem. The second groupon I bought was for three facials or massage. I used 1 facial which was so so. I booked a massage appointment, when I got there (no one called), they told me the massage therapist quit and there was no one else to give me a massage, I was pissed. They told me they would call when they had another massage therapist. Still waiting…
I called for a second facial. I literally had to climb a mountain of snow right in front of the store, to pay the meter, visible from the reception desk. No other client was there and I was told I could not have a 1 hour facial because I was 5 minutes late, or I could have a shorter facial. They left me in a room for 10 minutes before and after my facial, which by the way was AWFUL. Bottom line, I received a received a mediocre 35 minute facial, instead of a 55 minute one.
Save your money and go to a reputable establishment with aestheticians that are trained properly and staff that is competent.

Unpleasant facial. Scrubbing pad wipe on 70 year old skin. No running water. Sorry. I could not recommend.

A few weeks ago i visited this place for a facial. I am very happy with the result and i would really recommend this place for anyone who is concerned about there skin. The estheticians were very well educated and new what they were talking about. They use great products that really do wrk. I already see improvements in my skin. They have great deals and packages available. I will def be going back, They just gained a new loyal client because i couldnt be happier:)

bought a package –worst thing i’ve done lately. they wouldn’t let me cancel after my first treatment for balance of package — massages/​facials just ok; customer service awful… they don’t return calls promptly – sometimes have to call them a few times before i get a human; hard to schedule appointments. especially on Saturday; many times they don’t even answer phones… don’t think they’re open many hours…
i don’t understand why a business doesn’t understand that availability and customer service is crucial to success!

I’ve bought several groupons here and I’ve had good experiences with two facials and a massage. The only issue I’ve had here is with their front desk and scheduling. I had an appointment, showed up and they didn’t have my appointment scheduled. I was then given a story about how they must have confused me with someone else with the same name and called them to confirm instead of me… it was all really weird and unprofessional. They didn’t offer me any discount or additional service for the mix up and I had to go back another day, which was a waste of my time. Too bad they cant get their front desk in order because the actual treatments have always been wonderful and professional.

My mom bought Groupons for both of us as a Christmas gift… great deal $ 50 for either a 60 min Swedish massage, or a ½ hour facial.
Rooms and facility were clean, staff was friendly. Kayla did my massage and I thought she did a good job. She was quiet but friendly and followed my request of not touching my right leg/​foot since my foot is currently fractured.
Would definitely come here again with a Groupon.

I just had one of the best massages from their new therapist Stacy. Glad I bought the Groupon and will definitely see Stacy again. As for the front reception staff, the two women were kind, friendly and very professional. I would not hesitate to recommend this spa for massage therapy.

I bought two Groupons for a facial or a massage. My girlfriend and I were scheduled for facials but were running late and we both couldn’t get facials. They came up with a very generous solution. My girlfriend got the facial and they gave me a complimentary massage while I waited!

I was looking forward to my one hour massage today and I ended up leaving more tense then I was when I got there. To begin, the front desk is very unwelcoming and cold… and the girl who massaged me was absolutely terrible. She was tickling me for an hour. I kept telling her what I wanted and she continued with her so called massage. A 5 year old could have done a better job. I didn’t pay to get tickled I needed the kinks massaged out. I never thought a massage could go so wrong. Then when I mentioned it at the front desk upon leaving all I got was a cold, «oh that’s too bad.» I’ll never go back and I was planning to get laser treatment but after the customer service I don’t think that’s the best idea!

I bought a Groupon for two European facials at this spa for $ 40. While it was an excellent deal, I would not return to the spa even if I were given the option to buy it at the same discounted price.
The woman who did the facial was very friendly and informative. She told me a lot about different ways to take care of my skin and answered any questions I had for her, but at the same time it was hard to decide if she really knew what she was talking about or if she was just trying to sell me products.
She cleaned my skin, gave me a tease of a shoulder massage, applied a mask and left me laying in the room for about 15 — 20 minutes. I was super bored and cold. After that, she removed the mask, gave me another shoulder massage tease and told me I was all set.
Overall, the staff was very friendly, but the services just didn’t quite cut the mustard.
