This dealer is hands down the worst dealer I’ve ever worked with. Sales people were neither friendly nor professional. Calling this dealer is hit and miss, and when I get somebody on the phone, they sound like they came off the street. This is supposed to represent Volvo? It’s absolutely pathetic.
Don’t get me started with how inefficient the service center is. I visited a Mercedes Benz dealer recently and it completely destroys the Volvo Service experience at Big Dee. DESTROYS.
Cannot continue to do business with Big Dee. Not over my dead body.

Please DON’T get your CAR SERVICED here! This place is awful thru and thru. They are rude and these liars are on some power trip. Don’t even bother speaking to management because the issues start from the top and trickle down. Professionalism is of no importance and you as a client mean nothing to them.
As for the SHOWROOM, the sales team is too cool to service you and reluctant to even attempt to work up a deal. Poor lighting, service and Ambiance. I felt like I was in a basement. They use old worn tacky laminated forms on every desk instead of VOLVO pamphlets and forms. The bathrooms are dirty and static music plays from a boom-​box behind the gross plastic flowers. Not what you would expect from a Luxury dealership or VOLVO at that. Nyack, Stamford and NYC are far better choices for both sales and service.
Hopefully due to the new Management things will change. Lots of work to do and we can hope to see and experience the shift as customers. Fingers crossed!

Worst experience buying a car ever. They were incompetent and dishonest. Nothing went smooth, nothing they said would happen happened, it was a complete nightmare and even though I have had the car for a month, the nightmare with them continues.

Where to begin? If Dante’s Inferno had a tenth circle, Big Dee Volvo would be it. We came in to purchase our car, sight unseen, list price from them months before it’s arrival on US shores. Despite the easy sale, the dealership lacked proactivity, communication and knowledgeability. They never updated us on our vehicle (despite my many calls asking for updates), made repeated errors of customization, wouldn’t answer emails. Having received the car thanks only to the intervention of Volvo North America, we are still living a nightmare trying to deal with Big Dee, who has been withholding our license plates and registration as a result of an accounting error on their side. If you are thinking of getting a car at Big Dee Volvo, go take a look in the mirror. Unless the person you see staring back at you is Muammar Gaddafi, you deserve better.

Brought my car in for a seat belt replacement. Told them other dealers discount their parts 20% not us. Then after being charged $ 250 for the part +$ 180 for labor was charged an additional $ 5 for shipping because it’s an explosive device. Bloodsuckers.

Let me be clear in stating that this review is about Big Dee service and not sales. Being that the service department should be more important than the sales making a decision to purchase a car, I would discourage anyone from ever doing business with Big D Volvo to put it mildly.
The last time I came to Big D Volvo to service my car, I thought it would be my last. After six attempts to fix my alignment my patience was maximized. I was in disbelief that Volvo would allow a franchise, where clients are second to the employees, to function so in incompetently.
I decided to return to big D Volvo after a couple years to have my remote key battery replaced. They replaced my dead battery with a new one, but they did not properly assemble my remote key. These people cannot even replace the battery in a remote key. Until there is a major management change, I would avoid Big D service like the plague.

Let me start by saying we have 2 Volvos the we where having serviced here regularly. If I could give negative stars I would! Another reviewer was 100% correct in saying that this service center is a stealership! They consistently over charged for all types of labor and used scare tactics to trick my folks into paying for work that didn’t need to be done, and on many occasions our car left Their garage with the same issue it arrived with.
Brought my Car there because my reverse lights weren’t working on my S60R, They asked if I wanted a 90,000 mile service (which I knew I needed) and I gave them the OK almost $ 900 later I got my car back and found the area behind it was still dark when in reverse. When i went back to try and get the reverse light switch installed they wanted $ 60 for the part and around $ 300 for labor. I mentioned that I had spent almost $ 900 to have this exact problem fixed a month before and it hadn’t happened.
The response I received was not an apology, but rude and attacking remarks, I asked if maybe they could discount me on the $ 60 part first because of the previous experience and second because ipdusa sells the same part for $ 15. I was shocked when George had the gall to tell me the part was R specific, especially since its a universal part to all manual Volvos since like the 80s. long story short I bought the part from them because the women at the desk was very nice and then had it installed at a indie for $ 130 so literally a fraction of the cost. Also when I asked them for pointers on what are some typical problems with this car they failed to mention 2 extremely easy to fix problems that later on can cost Big big money… coincidence… I think not
Please Please please DO NOT BRING YOUR VOLVO HERE FOR SERVICE!!!

Our car wasn’t even serviced here because of the extreme lack of customer service. We called to schedule an appointment at 8am, and the lady on the end of the phone was extremely rude and just said «we’re busy». My mom then left a voice mail and asked to be called back. We were not called back. Then, my mom called again late afternoon and was greeted by the same lady who put us on hold for 10 min. When she picked back up, she said «may I help you?», as if she forgot we were on hold. She then once again said they were too busy. Did not even bother to ask if we wanted to schedule an appointment or anything. Ridiculous. Don’t even bother trying to use them.

Although they’re one of the few Volvo service centers in the immediate area, the term «Stealership» always comes to mind in their Service Center. I don’t think I’ve ever walked in there without them wanting me to sign on for $ 1000+ worth of work. Even when I just go in for an oil change.
One time in particular I went in with a squeaky rear wheel. The mechanic comes out into the waiting room holding two pieces of curved metal saying I need new brakes ($ 900 or something like that.) He stood far away and was holding the two pieces in the obvious manner that it was one piece now broken in half.
When I inspected it closely, he admitted that they were normally two separate pieces, and started backtracking on his ominous tone to saying they just needed to be cleaned. Of course I rejected the new brake job, told him to put these pieces back on the car. Problem solved. No new brakes necessary (an Indie mechanic confirmed the same thing a week later.)
These types of tricks are typical of dealer service centers— scaring you in the waiting room is a common ploy. I guess when you’re in Westchester, that must = Big wallets and carefree spending. Guess what: We’re a little bit more on the ball.
