Welcome to Bogie Lake Greenhouses, where you will find thousands of annuals, perennials, container gardens in pots and hanging baskets, tropical flowering plants, holiday plants, houseplants, vegetables, herbs, and topiaries. 90% of our plants are grown on our property from start to finish. This enables us to better control the condition of the plants from the time they are transplanted until each one is sold.

In addition to providing the most familiar plants and old favorites, at Bogie Lake we specialize in cultivating new and unique species. We only grow plants we are proud to offer to our customers.

History

Established in 1987.

Bogie Lake Greenhouses began as Thompson Greenhouses, Inc., a business owned and operated by Mr. Thompson that had been in his family since the early 1930s. For over fifty years, the Thompsons operated the greenhouse strictly as a foliage plant production facility. As the White Lake Township area prospered and the demand for foliage plants decreased, the greenhouse eventually added a floral department to its thriving operation. Time passed and the Thompsons decided it was best to retire from the business they knew and loved; happily, most of the greenhouses constructed by the Thompsons are still used today.

Since I grew up in the greenhouse industry and Mark had worked for my family for many years, we both knew and loved the business. Long before we bought one, we had dreams of someday owning a retail greenhouse operation. Never in our wildest dreams did we think it would happen to us at such an early age! Patty has always had a passion for plants. With her father owning Pinter Brothers Greenhouse in Ypsilanti, she has always been surrounded flowers. She is the speaker at many classes here at Bogie Lake Greenhouse and also is the artist behind our beautiful combination planters.
