Brookside Inn and Suites

This place deserves zero stars for not having enough resources during a busy time and non-​existent customer service. The room we scheduled had a broken closet, odorous room and a phone that didn’t connect to the front desk properly. So we went out later for dinner and upon return the pool and spa had some kind of electric problem and were closed for the night. So we returned to our room where the toilet flooded upon the first flush and we asked if we could have a different room but because the hotel was booked solid due to a local weekend event, there were zero options. Upon asking the assistant manager, she said the hotel did not have any staff for maintenance issues for the evenings.
My wife got mad at the incompetent assistant manager and they yelled at each other and then asked us to leave or they would call the police.
The assistant manager even offered a list of other hotels that were already booked instead of helping us find a nearby backup hotel to choose from. More classless behavior from the assistant manager. We also asked her if we could talk to the manager and she said she would not help us other than getting us a refund.
What a disgusting, dishonorable mockery of a hotel. They run on minimal resources there and that is a problem with non-​chain hotels. It was much better when that building was managed by the more professional La Quinta company.
I am not sure which is more shocking, writing this negative review or actually experiencing a hotel that turned out to be an epic failure in real life.

I’m a very low maintenance person especially when it comes to hotels and motels. So there is not much to complain about .The staff was very friendly. I’m a smoker so every time I went in and out the building I could make conversation with the front desk attendants. There’s an open field just at the end of the street with a small trail and beautiful views! If you need a place to crash give it a try!

Not amazing, not terrible. Mini pillows. But there is a fancy fountain in the front. Its priced a little high for what it is. But its really one of the nicest hotels in the area.

Pros: Great prices for weeknights (we paid $ 99) and hotel tax is only 1% (much more in Medford)! A few miles, if that, outside of Medford. On the same main road as the mall, a kid’s arcade/​bowling alley, Fred Meyer, Walmart, etc. Clean rooms, clean lobby and hallways, excellent maid service. Friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff.
Blahs: Breakfast. Even for hotel fair this was not great — we skipped it the second day. Pillows were terrible, I considered going down the street to Walmart to buy one. Bring your own. Beds — our two queen beds were very soft. I like a firmer bed, but was pleasantly surprised that my back did not hurt the next morning.
Cons: Pool was green and cloudy and overwhelmingly smelled of chlorine. I asked the front desk about it, and was told the PH balance was okay and they were putting an agent in it to clear up the cloudiness. However, it was just as bad both days. We were nervous about letting our young kids go in it in this condition, which was irritating because we wanted a pool for the kids.
Overall: If you just need a place to stay for a night or two, this place is great for the price. Don’t expect a 5 star hotel, and be happy with the deal.

My family and I are in town to visit relatives, and wanted to find a decent priced (and rated) hotel that was close to the Medford airport. We definitely got both of those things at this Inn. It’s on the edge of a town, not a lot going on (though there is some fast food within walking distance) but the hotel was very clean and the rooms nice, especially the little kitchenette bit… nice when we had leftovers after eating at a restaurant.
We also had a wonderful interaction with Josie from the front desk, who went above and beyond in a big way– not only did she hold my mom’s bags for us (we were early) but she took the cold foods we had with us and refrigerated them until we came back, with a note on them. She was very pleasant the whole interaction, no matter how much we asked.
Breakfast is impressive as well– not just fruits and muffins, like many places, but waffles, eggs, and sausage is available as well. In fact, the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars was because all of the plates and bowls they use are Styrofoam, which are terrible to use. If they had used paper, I would have been thrilled, but as it was I just couldn’t stand the idea of those carcinogens getting in my food. Otherwise, a fantastic place, and I highly recommend it. If we come back to visit maybe I’ll be lucky and they’ll have switched to paper.

I stayed here for four days on a work trip and summarized the pros and cons here:
Pros:
1. Tallest building in White City, hard to miss!
2. They have Area 51, the old school arcade game near the vending machines on the first floor!
3. The exercise room is fairly large, compared to most hotels. No free weights or mats but they have an elliptical, treadmill, cycling machine, plus some other weight machines.
Cons:
1. I found the beds to be too soft and not very firm. I stayed in a room with two queen sized beds and found both beds to be quite soft.
2. The coffee is weak, found it to be the color of black tea. But the pro is that there’s a Human Bean coffee stand in the same parking lot.
3. More of a con for the town, but the closest grocery stores are Wal-​Marts (not really my thing).

for the room.
Advice: Don’t book this hotel through a website unless you plan on experiencing the above. (and no, I wasn’t the only person who had an issue that night with the
website at this hotel).

The service is over-​the-​top good. The staff will do whatever they can for you.(Jacob at the front desk was great and makes cookies! I work in hospitality, and only wish there were more Jacobs in the world!) My room was spotlessly clean, and the ammenities were just fine. The soap and shampoo were not the cheapo Dial type stuff. Towels were fluffy. Bed was super comfy for me, though it might have been too soft for someone who needs a really firm mattress. The room was smallish, but perfectly adequate for me, as I was travelling alone. Had I been with 2 or 3 others, the 2 queen bed room would have been far too small.

I stayed on a Fri/​Sat with my dog. Loved the great breakfast which was free and the easy WiFi connection. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve slept on in ages. The staff was very friendly and the entire hotel was clean and well cared for. Medford is just down the road a couple of miles — this is well worth the trip.

It’s clean and comfortable. The staff are polite and try to be helpful. Breakfast is boring when you have to eat here to often. There are a lot of tourist during the summer months mixed in with the people that are here for work during the week. It’s reasonably priced and I would recommend here. Although white city has little to offer unless you love fast food. Grocery stores are in Medford, so stock up if you want snacks or drinks.

This is a great place to stay while in the Medford area. It’s affordable, clean and neat. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. While it may not be a 5-​star, it definitely is comfortable and well worth the stay. It’s close to Medford, Jacksonville, and Ashland. I have already booked a return trip in October.

We had a great stay with great value and a hot breakfast including sausage and eggs. I had to do some work on the computer and the internet connection was good and free. Spacious and comfortable room. VERY comfortable bed. Friendly staff nothing but a good experience for us!

My family of 5+ pet pooch needed to find a spot on our way up to Washington. Kids liked the pool the hot tub and the breakfast. Hubby and I like the price point the free breakfast which was good and the proximity to the freeway. We also took a drive to crater Lake and experienced that beautiful treasure! Nice television good stations to choose from and service was great highly recommend! Last but not least if you love bingo it’s right next to the bingo place that is open think Thursday Friday Sunday and Monday :-)

I had never heard of Brookside Inn and was trying to figure out whether to stay the night or drive back to the coast when I did a search to see what was around me. I called and Karen answered the phone. She was so nice, I decided we’re going to stay. When she checked us in, same thing, she was courteous, professional and friendly. Then we asked for a restaurant recommendation and she gave us that too. Our room was clean and odor free. The breakfast was good and a great place to mingle with other guests. I’d definitely stay again.

The owners are have set the standard for caring and community-​minded. When our nephew, Marine Corporal, Nicholas Sell was killed on duty recently, the owners graciously reduced rates for military personnel attending the memorial service, and comped rooms for all family members (which were quite a few. The rooms were lovely and comfortable — what a relief to arrive so welcomed after a long journey, with the anticipation of emotionally draining days ahead. We each had a place to which to retreat, grieve privately, and regroup. When we visit our brother’s family again, none of us will hesitate to pay full price for such accommodations. Thank you

Stayed here 2 years in a row for the USPSA Oregon Open Sectional Championships. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Continental breakfast are always good. The staff very professional and hospitable. Location is very easy to find, and its surrounded by movie theatres, gas stations, and fast food restaurants. This hotel is also Pet Friendly.

This is our 3^rd stay at this motel. Clean, friendly staff, quiet. We come to So. OR to go to the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, and although this seems far away, the price is great, and it’s a quiet area. Dog friendly. Easy access to National Forest lands for hiking, also great country roads for bike rides. Morning breakfast is on par with other motels.

If your looking for a resonable price yet fantastic accomodations I highly recommend this Hotel. It is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. The beds are PLUSH. All the amenities you could want in a hotel. Indoor swimming pool, Gym plus a FULL BREAKFAST BUFFETT. This is a pet friendly hotel also. They are BIKER FRIENDLY. COVERED bike parking in front of the main lobby doors. How awesome and safe is that for your toy. A business cnter with FREE computers for your use. This is the place to stay if you go to Crater Lake or the Rogue River or any nerby areas to visit, Great location. Minutes away from shopping malls to pristine forest and river area, Staff is friendly and helpful. STAY HER IF YOU ARE IN OR AROUND THE MEDFORD AREA… Awesome 3 day stay… Howard/​San Francisco Bay Area…

A little off the freeway, but diffidently worth the extra drive. The staff at the hotel were friendly and greeted us every time we came into the lobby. The inn lobby and rooms have been updated and you can see they take care of the hotel. The rooms were very clean, quiet and stocked with plenty of towels. The gym and indoor pool was a pleasant surprise. They offer free continental breakfast throughout the morning.

Great value, great experience.
Staff is very friendly, the smell of «clean» greeted us as we walked into the lobby.
We saved money by staying in White City vs/​Medford (hotel tax) as well as eating breakfast at the excellent extended continental breakfast (coffee, juices, milk, bagels, toast, muffins, waffles, biscuits, gravy) so those 2 combined saved us.
Very quiet and nice rooms/​beds.
Only 1 complaint is that our bathroom vent somehow was filtering the smell of someone’s smoke into our room :(Very yucky!
Other than that, amazing stay!
