History

Established in 2001.

In August of 1989, after competing in the U.S. Olympic Sports Festival in Taekwondo, Lance Farrell moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and opened his first Farrell’s location. This first venue was a business idea that combined Mr. Farrell’s fitness facility and martial arts studio into one location.

In 2001, Farrell expanded his kickboxing-​based fitness program to include strength training classes and a sound nutrition plan. With the introduction of this comprehensive fitness program, Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping was born.

After years of development, research and refinement, Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping became a franchisor in 2007, and all existing licensees became the first Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping franchisees. Today, there are over 50 Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping locations in nine states.

Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping’s first location in the Twin cities opened in January 2011 and now hosts 4 locations in the area. The White Bear Township location opened in April of 2013.
