I’m probably one of the few actual members of VFW that frequent this establishment. The food is better than average and the service is always friendly, though sometimes slow. Prices are a little high for what you get. But, you can’t beat the pours on the drinks and the views on the lake at this place.

Daytime fine and cheap and fun . One hour for a frozen pizza at night. They warned us, but still…

We have been in here a number of times but it had been a while so we recently swung in for dinner. This is a pretty standard VFW bar with a couple things going for it. First the view of the lake is awesome. They have an outdoor patio right on the lake. You can see the lake from the whole place. They definitely have some of the most prime real-estate in the White Bear area. The other thing going for them is the service. Very friendly, attentive but not overbearing. The food was standard bar & restaurant food. Their tap beer selection is a bit generic for me but hey, it’s the VFW. Overall it was a good experience and we’ve made a point to not wait so long before our next trip.

I love this place!!! They pour a great drink, when you order food its always huge portions, and the service is great. Mostley bar food but well worth it, their prices are out of this world and you dont have to be a member to get in.

I LOVE this place! Seriously, who goes to the VFW and checks out the menu online before? It’s a typical VFW dive bar, burgers, wings, fried food, sandwiches, etc… you get the point. They have meat raffles, pull tabs, good food, and cheap drinks. Plus they have quirky regulars that are entertaining. Leave the kids at home and try out the VFW again during happy hour, much more enjoyable!!! Flat screen TVs to watch the game as well. I’ve always had fantastic service too. CHECK it out!

We went because we thought«why not?» Now we know. I scoped out the menu online before heading there, which I do frequently as we have small children. Only about half the menu items correlated with what was on the website. We ordered at 11:50 and were told«Just so you know we don’t make lunch items until noon.» My husband made several selections, only to be told«we no longer carry that menu item.» I could go into greater detail, but we’ll just say that the service sucked, and far outweighed the nice view of White Bear Lake and the okay food.
