Specialties

Looking for fun, not just food? Then The Melting Pot is the place to dine. Join us for a fun, interactive dining experience. Try a yummy cheese fondue, prepared table side. We also have delicious entrees that YOU get to cook just the way that you like them at the table right in front of you. Make sure to save room for dessert — one of our decadent chocolate fondues.

Looking for a romantic place to dine with that special someone? We have special seating for couples in our Lover’s Lane.

Expecting a larger crowd? We can help you plan an event for a large party — rehearsal dinners, baby showers, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, corporate events, etc. (We will open early for parties of 20 or more.)

We look forward to sharing our fun food and fabulous service.

History

Established in 2006.

The first Melting Pot opened in April of 1975 in Maitland, Fla., just outside of Orlando. It was a cozy, quaint location, and its first menu consisted of just three items: Swiss cheese fondue, beef fondue and a chocolate fondue dessert. However, as the restaurant’s popularity expanded, so did its menu and ambiance.

Mark Johnston, who was working his way through college as a waiter at The Melting Pot, noticed the popularity boost and, with the help of his brothers Mike and Bob, scraped together funding to open The Melting Pot of Tallahassee in 1979 (with the blessing of the original owners in Maitland… of course). The Tallahassee location grew enormously popular, and within one year, its success paved the way for future franchise expansion.

In 2010, The Melting Pot Restaurants celebrated its 35th anniversary.

At The Melting Pot, fondue truly becomes a memorable four-course dining experience where patrons can discover all the ingredients for an unforgettable culinary adventure.

Meet the Business Owner

Kathy G.

Business Owner

A long time fan of The Melting Pot, Kathy decided in 2005 that she wanted to become part of The Melting Pot family and opened The Melting Pot of Whippany in November 2006. She happily runs the restaurant with her family — her son Mark and daughter Michele.

The Melting Pot was the perfect choice for this fun loving family.

«We love the fact that every day we get to be part of someone’s special day. It’s all about ensuring that excellent dining experience and creating that special memory.»
