Good place for a quick lunch. I like to grab a soup and half sandwich to go and take it back to the office. They have a nice big selection, but as the day goes along they run out of a lot of stuff so be warned. Most of the standbys like chicken soup and chicken salad sandwiches are going to be there all day though.

Great split pea and butternut squash soup. They also have lobster bisque, chicken noodle and other soups. The true test of the split pea’s taste was that my daughter ate some and said that «this was the only vegetable soup she would eat.»

It’s in a weird market with a post-​apocalyptic Parisian arcade vibe. It appears to be one of maybe six businesses actually operative in wheeling. There’s something called Fruit Soup that is actually yogurt, the sandwiches are good and there is also something called a Hummus Taco. Who am I to disparage one of the only places in Wheeling with a palpable personality?

They aim to please. Very customer service oriented! They want your business and want your food to be good. They succeeded! Home like meal. Great soup! Lobster Bisque was not offered on the day I was there, but will be back to try. There was always someone at the counter to order, that should tell you something! Keep in mind that «The Soup Shack» is in the Centre Market.

This is a nice little place. Owner is top notch he is a very nice guy. Owner pays attention to detail works hard. The food is low priced but high in quality!!! Its inside the market house a real Gem for the community.

I can’t say enough great things about the Soup Shack! Everything is tasty, fresh, and homemade. The prices are extremely reasonable. I recently tried the hummus tacos (both hummus and dressing are homemade) and am now an addict. There is nothing better on a cold day than Frank’s chili with a piece of homemade bread from the little bakery next door. One thing to keep in mind: make sure you have cash on you, since credit cards are not accepted.
