2 days ago I drove off my garage without letting the garage door go up all the way. What a nightmare. I call garage specialists, they came to my house in 2hs after my call. Gave me a quote and told me that the damage was too great to fix it and I need a new garage door. I couldn’t wait because my house was opened. The rain that assisted me was so gracious and helpful, getting a new door right the next day install by noon. Easy breezy process. What a pleasure dealing with the them.

I have used this company for a number of years and recently had a problem that turned out be a major headache. I have had Steve on the phone and Tom and Nick at my house to help. All three were very nice to deal with and very helpful, I will continue to use this company and will recommend them to my neighbors and friends

I have been doing business with GDS for a long time! First with repairs for two old garage doors and finally when I needed to replace them back in March 2014I I purchased 2 new doors and motors from them. They are honest and fair priced! Their service techs that come out are as nice as can be and take the time with programming the remotes and the internal car remotes as well. I have had a few minor issues since and Rob the owner personally came out to my home to solve the problems that occurred. I would recommend them to anybody looking to get quality garage door repair or installation at fair prices.

I had an excellent experience with GDS. Rob, the president, did the initial evaluation and estimate. Very friendly and professional. He helped me choose the best doors for our house based on the exterior appearance and offered the more moderate priced doors rather than the highest priced ones. The doors were installed by his son, a super nice guy, who did a great job. However, a few months later, one of the doors was making a clunking noise and I emailed them. I received a call from the office and they were able to send someone out right away (20 minutes) who adjusted the spring (5 minutes) and gave a friendly wave good bye. I could not be more impressed by the professional and efficient manner in which they do business.

Why do companies always have to gouge you to make money?
I called because of a broken torsion spring.
I was told they had an internet special at $ 200 for broken spring repair.
(another company quoted me $ 195) Some special eh?
The guy said the cable broke, «that makes it interesting:»
What he didn’t say is they charge $ 40 each, times two, for new cables that sell for about $ 10each online.
He also «lubed» the doors for $ 8.50. Lube consists of some spray the looks like PB blaster.
So he was here about two hours and made $ 200 labor and profit on $ 247 worth
of parts to fix a two car door and preventive repair on a one car door.
I hate being dependent on companies that gouge when you are in need.
If you can, get the total price up front, you can’t trust anybody.

From the first phone call to the office to request emergency help with the broken spring on our garage door, to the departure of the two men who came and replaced the spring, we were delighted with the excellent service we got from this company. They were there within the hour, worked quickly, and were totally professional, competent, and friendly. Could not ask for better.

GDS installed my garage door (it looks great!) and serviced my existing garage door opener. They could have insisted on replacing it (I wouldn’t have known any better), but they didn’t. Rob, the owner, said it still had some life left in it.
Soon after my door was installed, my best friend’s garage door needed service. I recommended GDS. She was also very happy with their quick response and the work they performed.
Would recommend GDS to anyone!

After having our sub-​par contractor’s grade door (that came with our house) replaced by GDS (having an actual showroom was a nice touch), we were pleased to have them come back on several occasions to make a few more upgrades and repairs. We had a broken spring replaced and a new opener installed (I was pleasantly surprised by the help I got on the phone to try and get the opener to work again before they actually sent someone out to the house – alas, it was, in fact, dead, but I did appreciate their attempt to fix my problem over the phone first.) It’s always a relief to find service people you feel you can trust. I have no reservations about being a repeat customer.

I searched the Norhshore area for new garage doors. GDS was one of the few with a showroom which was a huge plus. I met Rob and was able to discuss what I wanted and get the info I needed while actually looking at doors and hardware.
I found some others that carried the same or similar products and found one that was a little bit cheaper. Most of the others I found sold the doors and would have a subcontractor do the install. I went back to GDS and Rob because I felt very comfortable that he and his company sold and installed the doors and would still be there down the road if I needed service. Also, the service that I did recieve from GDS was completely professional and turned out to be actually better than promised.
My house is wood sided and Rob was also able to arrange for a siding guy to do a small job involving cladding the wood frame around the doors with aluminum so I wouldn’t have to scrape and paint and now the whole garage door and frame are maintenance free.

After Overhead Door decided that my garage door was a safety hazard, was damaged when it fell due to a broken spring (it never ‘fell’, it just wouldn’t open, and there was no damage, it’s just old and due to be replaced), and refused to come (even though they never set foot inside the garage to look at it), I called GDS. They were friendly, came out quickly, and fixed my garage door opener.
Was it a little more expensive? Sure. But at least the guy from GDS waited until he actually saw my garage door (on the inside, where the springs were) before diagnosing the issue. GDS fixed it without a problem and now my door works again.
Yes, my door needs replacing. Yes, I’ll have it done. GDS was great. The service guy invited me into their showroom too to look at doors and told me that even if I didn’t buy from them, at least I can see a few different doors.
As a side note, the tech was very friendly and this company calls to let you know the tech is on the way (not offered to me by other companies — fyi).
I’d recommend them if you have a problem with your garage.
