Wayne’s Auto Service Center

I went here for a carwash and my left front and rear rims got deep scratches with deep grooves. There was no signs indicating such risks anywhere in the establishment. Upon talking to Wayne, the owner, he said that I should have called him to come out so he can help me align the wheels. That statement made me cringe. Now it’s my fault for not knowing to call him. He made clear that they are not responsible. I now have a $ 600 problem — never should have went here.

I must concur with the above reviews concerning Wayne’s Auto. My dad brought his Camry XLE there for a valve cover gasket leak that was dripping a significant amount of oil onto the exhaust manifold and garage floor. The charge was for about $ 1,100 as the leak was on the back firewall and difficult to reach. I believe the engine needs to be somewhat hoisted out to gain access. The procedure is rather involved, and I know because I have worked on cars extensively, myself. Well, it wasn’t fixed. In fact, there wasn’t really any symptomatic change at all. If anything it got worse. It wouldn’t surprise me If he didn’t even work on the vehicle. What I do know is that it has cost him over $ 3,000 in revenue, because that’s when we stopped going to him. For $ 1,100, all I got is the satisfaction from this complaint.

That Old Man is a Crook
I took my 2000 Regal GS here last winter since it would start then stall a few seconds later. I had no choice since I was stranded at the Shell station across the street.
Wayne was not able to diagnose the issue. He kept stating that he did not have the proper diagnostic tools required for the job.
I researched and diagnosed the that it was a fuel pump resistor issue which I learned is common to fail in time for this make and model. Even told him where it’s located on the vehicle and how to proceed in replacing it.
After 3 days Wayne contacted me and told me the job was complete and the charge would be $ 750 !
I asked him to elaborate as to why he felt this was a fair price since the part was like $ 30 and the job was about an hour long. He simply stated that he spent many hours diagnosing the problem.
Look I do not pay you to day dream and drink coffee. A flat cost for the diagnosis (usually around $ 100) and waive it if the repair work is done at your shop. $ 100 per hour for labor is the standard in the industry.
After some haggling he took $ 200 off of the balance and returned my car to me.
DO NOT GO HERE! That Old Man is a Crook.
The only thing he does not have is a gun. He will hold your car hostage and take your money. He charges you whatever he wants regardless of the signs in his shop.
Oil Changes and Brake Jobs that’s all he’s good for.
