Food — B) Good desserts, entrees and apps are reasonably priced. You need to try the frozen hot chocolate
Environment — B+) Don’t get the love table, chairs are office chairs. Single seats are far more comfortable.
Service A-​) They know the menu, and work their way up from runner to server. Usually have a great experience, I’ve had free dinner when my meat wasn’t cooked right with no complaints.
Movie quality C+) They are selling the experience, not just the film. Comparable to a Regal.
Price — B) You have to either: groupon, check their website for specials, or look online. Typically, you can find half off tickets somewhere. I’ve also acquired free movie vouchers from managers who’ve seen me there multiple times.
Overall, decent option, better than just going to Cantera or Regal. My brother and I like to go, tradition of ours to watch new movies and get dinner and dessert. Family friendly too.

It a great place if you have money. I go there alot. Never been disappointed. I saw so many movies. The staff is great. Sometimes gets so bussy but they do great job!!!

The boyfriend and I love to go to this theater and it’s his favorite. We are not huge fans of their food and money adds up really quick too. I will say that we LOVE the mudslides and that’s probably what keeps us coming back. I like the look of everything when you walk in too. After food, drinks, and tickets it ends up being very pricey but it’s all about them dranks. Lol

Preface: We did not try the food but wanted to see how their version compared to iPic. Needless to say it’s an extremely poor substitute.

Before I went here and my first time, I read these reviews I almost didn’t go… here is my experience with Studio Movie Grill
SMG has a option to BUY your tickets and even pick your seats online. this is what I did, however always check to see if they have a GROUPON available on the NET the NORMAL price was 10.75 PLUS 1.50 PER TICKET. so EACH ticket is almost 12 bucks. a LITTLE STEEP… Fine we get to the SMG, and I will say it is FRESH. and very Hip… with a TOUCH of CLASS
We go to the Bar me and my wife to get a starter drink 5 .00 tall cans, I took one, my wife is not all into big cans so she asked for something much smaller, the man said I can give you a coors lite, we said sure the ticket on the SMALL BOTTLE was 5.50 I asked him why, he was snob, and abviously a club bartender reject that thought he could bully people and not be honest with prices, but so goes it were in for another 12 bucks and we haven’t even step in the movie. The server was awesome. we went to see star wars and there were only 7 people in the theater this was good, because even at that the service was good, but I can definitely see if you go to a packed house, this would NOT be a good experience.
The food… we got the 2 for 25 a starter CHICKEN NACHOS…4 out of 10 not very good completely soggy. the entrée wifey got the blackened chicken salad 8 out of 10 she really liked it…, I got the BBQ bacon burger without the bacon it was also good 6 out of 10
the dessert was an extra 5 bucks and I’m glad we split it it was big and rich awesome a perfect 10 out of 10 it was ghabahdli chocolate brownie 2 scoops of ice cream and 2 cinnamon crunchies again excellent/​/​/​
with tip was 40 plus the tickets 24 and the rude guy at the bar jacking his customers another 12
we spent modestly and spent 75 bucks on dinner and a movie.
I wasn’t super impressed I thought they had a good idea, and really bragging about the food, I think could be a step up… however overall we had a good time… star wars in my opinion was OK great special effects I thought the plot really wasn’t to exciting…
well see you at the movies… next time… MAYBE

I usually don’t write reviews but you have to stay away from this place! I went to see Star Wars on New Years Eve in theater 8 and the picture quality was so horrible! No contrast at all. Everything was washed out. JJ Abrams would have kept out of his seat and strangled the projectionist. I work in the television industry I know what a good image is supposed to look like. I would have gotten fired if I submitted something like that. I did write the corporate offices explaining what happened, and all I got was, oh, sorry about that. The food is pretty rotten, too. We’ve tried multiple items and all of it is bland. No flavor and uninspiring. On the good side, the servers are nice and very attentive.

This place has gone downhill and it is so disappointing. I came in yesterday and had to send my drink back. The server proceeds to tell me how the bartender is an idiot and always makes mistakes and on and on. Whoa, I really do not care how your personal relationship is with other employees. Especially, in the middle of my movie!!! The table space we are able to eat on is of course limited. So please explain to me why the servers immediately turn their back because they do not care to be bothered with removing my trash. Calling after them and pressing the button when their back is turned to me makes me feel like a demanding jerk. We literally had to eat on our laps. Before the check arrived I asked for a box and a side of ranch to go. They told me they do not have «to-​go» side cups… Did you know you get free ramekins? But the best part is how incredibly sick both my little sister and I became on our way home! It was a mess! Eat there at your own risk. I do not know what happened it used to be a nice place.

I am incredibly unhappy with SMG. I seldom write reviews, but I had to share. I have many times noticed that the bathrooms are subpar and when I bring it to managements attention I am advised that they «do their best». Well tonight I fell in the bathroom and ended up straddling the toilet on a wet, disgusting floor. A young teenage girl had to help me get up and a woman called in the manager. It was incredibly embarrassing. There was no toilet paper in the stall and people had to get me some to finish my business.
My ankle is now soar and my back was wrenched in the fall. We will see how I feel tomorrow. I learned after speaking with the manager that there is a problem with the toilet and it is now being repaired. There was already one out of order in the same bathroom.
Each time I see a movie there which is quite often… I always end up pushing the service button because the bathrooms need service.
For the record… The gluten free pizza always gives me heartburn
Even though the movies are a good value with the Groupons, the lack of attention to the facility and non-​concern when I bring it to management’s attention.
Don’t go here. Pay full price and go somewhere it is safe.
A choose one star because I am not allowed to choose 0 stars.
What’s worse… The manager didn’t even offer a free movie ticket or anything for the inconvenience.

Okay so I’ve been to this place several times and I hate to say it but this very well may be the last time I go. I had such high expectations too. First off I ordered a Star Wars speciality drink that tasted like cough syrup, OMG it was horrible. I hate to be the A-​hole that sends things back but I couldn’t choke that grenadine and Robitussin down any longer… Then I ordered a Texas something that had dr. Pepper in it and it was very good. So that was nice lol
Then my bf ordered a burger that he said was basically raw, he had about half and it looked like they switched fries from what they normally get which was disappointing, I really liked the other fries they had. And I got the pretzel bites, they were ok but it was a really small portion. Then they were out of three major beers anti hero and an IPA were the ones we wanted, and out of Belvedere and absolute, come on! 75% of the reason I come to these theaters is for the booze, otherwise I’d sneak a flask in my purse like a normal American!
I’m a drinker, and when ur out of the best, I get distressed!
Ok ok so then it took them easily 20 mins to bring us our drinks and when they did they were watered down from the melted ice… Come the F*** on! Not to mention when I ran to the restroom they were all gathered around the server station chatting and on their phones! Come on! Side note, its a freaking Tuesday. I normally think this place is better than most movie and dinner/​drink places but today I was highly disappointed.
It was just a miss all around and spending over a hundred just to see a movie, give me proper service and decent drinks. That’s your business, figure it out.

So we came here and once again a part of our meal tasted strange. This time it was the Megaplex Burger. The meat tasted off. Also, I had a blue margarita, which used to be my favorite, and it was strong but tasted terrible. Disappointed and my stomach hurt the next morning. Not sure if we will come back here.

Great local movie spot. Keep an eye for the Groupon as they often offer $ 5 deals. This place has a small bar inside to relax at while your waiting for your movie. Very clean and the screens are of good size. The seats are comfy and each seat has its own tray to allow you to order food/​drinks while you watch your movie. I am a huge fan and have been coming for quite some time.

On the day that I came here, it was the first day of snow for the winter and we had gotten quite a bit. I arrived about 20 minutes early for the movie I wanted to see and there was a sign on the door stating that they could not take credit cards for ticket purchases. We went in to inquire and were told that the servers could charge cards for food purchases, but tickets would require cash. They don’t have an atm, so this involved leaving a good parking spot and driving to a nearby gas station to get cash. You do get to pick an assigned seat once you buy your tickets, which is nice. This way you aren’t stumbling around in the dark looking for two seats together– but I believe we got seats that were not as good because we had to go and get cash in order to get in. The seats are comfortable and recline somewhat. They also have a tray table attached to put your food on. The food was okay. I would prefer the food I have ordered from Hollywood Blvd or Palms before. I got some chicken nachos and a flatbread pizza. Other than that, no complaints — I would probably just order a dessert or popcorn next time and would hopefully get better seats next time. I do know that there is often a groupon running for this theatre.

OK SMG… you’re really killing me. On one hand, the food quality has increased from what it use to be when they started. On the other hand, I feel like the service has decreased over the last few times that we’ve visited. The last time we went, the server (s) missed things that we ordered, forgot to split checks, and was overall bad service :(. It also didn’t help that their website was down and we weren’t able to order tickets (which is a major reason why we go here versus other locations). Although this can happen from time to time, what really irked me was that I called their offices multiple times and even left a message. Not only was the phone never answered by a person, but no one from their management team ever called me back! I was really disappointed in that. The manager was very accommodating and tried to make things right, which was a positive, but it was very disappointing. I’ve loved this location and its convenience. I’ve been impressed with the improvement in their food quality… now I hope that they fix the service problem before it gets worse.

This is just a horrible movie experience. The service staff kept messing up my family’s order and then brought out the wrong order to make up for it. They walk in front of everyone throughout the movie and the lights need to stay low for everyone to see. This was my first and last time here. Just avoid it altogether.

It’s a movie theatre where they serve you food and mixed drinks, makes for a fun time with some avoidable mistakes though. Let’s start with the food, which is most comparable to Chile’s or Applebee’s in it’s conception, however the quality was significantly worse. I imagine that they just assume since you can barely see the food you really shouldn’t be able to taste it. The silliest thing about the experience is they show you a two minute commercial detailing their commitment to good food and service.
The service is a pretty big letdown as well. Refills were a major hassle, as you’d have to hit your service light to get a server to take your soda. This however leaves you at the random mercy of the staff. On one instance we got one refill in only a few minutes, in another we waited over thirty minutes, having to ring multiple servers to inquire about the status of it until one of them finally just personally saw to it.
The popcorn was a letdown, having a stale and bland flavor with a few spots drenched in butter while the rest of it was bone dry and saltless. The last thing that really stands out here is the fact they don’t turn off the lights when the movie starts. This helps you when you’re eating, but it spills onto the screen, washing out the image and overall worsening the movie going experience.
Please understand, I’ve been here two separate times and I’ve wanted to like this place so much. I just can’t endorse eating here, and really with a few AMC theaters in the area there isn’t really a reason to come here. If they make a few key changes it could be a great fun idea, but as it is I would stay away.

We really enjoyed this place. We have been to other theaters with a similar platform of having the full kitchen. The food was great and the margaritas were even better. I recommend the coconut chicken tenders. The only thing I didn’t like was I thought it was a bit overpriced. We went with four of us and for tickets, 4 entrees, two appetizers, two drinks and dessert it was a $ 170 trip to the movies.
My advice is don’t worry about appetizers because they come out the same time the food does and we had no where to put all the food. You can also buy tickets online and preselect your seats but we were charged $ 1.50 per ticket extra for a connivence charge.
Over all we would go again but will be more conscious of how much we order.

My fiancé and I are frequent visitors of SMG, so much so that we hardly go anywhere else anymore. The atmosphere is modern, trendy, and clean. The ticket prices are reasonable, and you certainly can’t be the pre-​reserved seating. It’s so nice not having to show up an hour early to get a good seat. The online buying process is a breeze!
The theaters are mostly quaint, a few larger ones. The chairs are comfortable, in my opinion. They are oversized, which is nice and you have plenty of legroom. The service is always impeccable and the food is delicious. I love their coconut chicken tenders, but their burgers are quite good as well. Plus, you can’t beat enjoying a beer while watching a good movie. All around great place!

I had a pass to come here, so I decided I would have to go before the pass expires. I was absolutely surprised with everything during my experience. I was going to watch the new Avengers movie when I was there.
When I walked in, the entrance felt very modern and unique. The furniture and bar are so modern! I like modern and uniqueness in any place!
The theater was a little dark, but it was easy to see stuff. The service button is useful for your server to get to you in a crowded theater. The screen was big enough for me to see, and it was fine!
The service was great! It was a bit crowded, but the staff was quick when I hit my service button. The staff were also easy-​going and great to talk to. No bad attitude at all from the staff. The staff serve before and during the movie.
The highlight of my visit is the food. It was very good and very tasty! I had a strawberry shake to start. It was good, but not great. The richness was a little too much for the shake, and it felt like a lot of milk was served, but I am okay with that. I had a sausage pizza for my entrée. I really liked the sausage. It was a bit different from sausage at pizza places today. The sausage was REAL sausage, and it was fantastic. The sauce and cheese was great because it had a great taste! Also, after looking at pictures and reviews from other Unilocalers, I wanted to try the frozen hot chocolate. It’s basically a hot chocolate, but with ice cream. It was FANTASTIC! The ice cream was rich and tasted perfect. The chocolate was great too.
All in all, the frozen hot chocolate is what I definitely recommend from this place. The service was great and the service button was a unique thing to put in. I recommend this place, and I will come back!

I just don’t like eating food in a dark room in front of a screen, so I’m not a fan of this set up. It’s clean and the staff is helpful, but I don’t mindlessly eat.
That being said, we used a $ 5 groupon to visit here. I brought my kids to see the Sponge Bob movie. We picked out our seats in advance, which was very helpful. On Sundays, it’s basically all you can eat pizza and with all my boys, I’ll take it.
The servers are bustling about during the whole show and they bring your check before the movie is over so you can settle up. You need to use your phone light (not good in a movie theater) to read the check.
So, if I’m going to a movie, this isn’t my first choice. Maybe you have kids and can take advantage of the endless pizza!

I ordered the Spielburger (cute, huh?) and she got the Megaplex. The Megaplex has mushrooms, I hate mushrooms. so of course they served it to me. In the dark.
I don’t really hold the mistake against them. it’s a symptom of a problem that I am not interested in exploring any further. Being served and eating a full meal in a movie theater is not my cup of tea. The food and tickets are pricey, the food is good, not great and you can’t see it.
It’s distracting, at the beginning of the movie I found it difficult to concentrate. There was too much going on. Servers moving about, and me trying to figure out the food in front of me.
The theater is very nice, it’s clean and comfortable. The server was very nice and I wouldn’t dock them a star for the food mix up, it was a simple mistake. The seats are very comfortable and the movie was good.
I would have taken a picture of the food. but it was frickin’ dark! And it’s a movie theater. using my phone like that would have made me part of the problem.
Can you say double feature? I prefer the traditional movie experience… some popcorn, some candy, an Icee or soda and my feet up on the railing in front of me watching the movie I paid for and looking forward to the second one that I’m going to stay for… gratis.
I know that other people enjoy this dining/​movie concept, that’s great. I understand, to each their own.
