DFC Mechanical

A few days ago, I had a water leak around the base of my furnace. Since my wife and I had such wonderful experience with Bob in the past, we gave DFC Mechanical a call. On a late Saturday night, Bob called me within 30 minutes and gave me quick advice on fixing my leak. Fortunately, his knowledge has helped with my furnace leak, and I will definitely use DFC Mechanical for my HVAC mishaps and installations. Thanks again DFC Mechanical.

Great service!!! Dan responded to my quote request quickly and was able to be at my house for the service call within 2 hours. I loved that he gave me options and informed me about the cost of everything up front. He was courteous, professional, and very skilled. I have been using Dan, Robert and his crew for several years. Their honest, fair and do a great job. I have used them for electrical, furnace, a/​c, water heater. Always on time, great communication and always do what it takes to handle job asap. And their work is solid. It’s nice to have someone like them within a text or call away when things come up.

UPDATE:
I feel compelled to write an update based on my previous review below. After my critique of the company on Unilocal,the owner of the company messaged me through Unilocal asking if there was a way he could make things right and apologized for my experience. We had some communication back and forth and I found him to be quite pleasant and amicable.
Although, as of this date, I have not had them do any work, I would consider doing some in the future. It’s nice to know that companies small and some large are keeping track and are trying to keep up-​to-​date with what’s happening regarding their reviews on social media…

Where do I begin? Let’s begin 3 weeks ago when I first called to get an electrician to come out to my home for some work that I wanted done. The lady that answered the phone was nice enough. In fact, she was very cordial took my information and told me someone would call me within 24 hours to set up an appointment. No one ever called. I then went back to the reviews to see if anybody else had this issue and no one did.
Fast forward to the present…
I called, I spoke to the same lady that I spoke to the first time… I told her what happened the first time I called. She apologized and told me someone would call me right away to set up an appointment… in which someone did. within a few hours, a guy called me and asked me what I needed. I told him what I wanted and he said he would need to come out and give me an estimate and that he would call me the next morning to schedule an appointment for later in the day. He called me… in the middle of the afternoon the next day.
End of story.
End of my business.

I called Tully Electric in Carol Stream… the guy came out within 3 hours.

Very prompt, knowledgable, and reasonable. Had a problem with my furnace and they quickly diagnosed and helped me out while explaining how the furnace works. Highly recommended!

Dfc mechanical was great! I contacted them on a thursday and they were here monday morning. Robert was very kind and had fair prices. Sam was very knowledgable and did a great job installing lighting in all my bedrooms. He knew exactly what he was doing. Mike and sam did a great job as well installing my fixtures! Everyone was great and i highly recommend them!

Fantastic service. Robert fixed some improperly wired breakers, performed a furnace cleaning and replaced the igniter on my garage heater. Sam showed up on short notice and quickly
fixed a broken switch for me. Both were courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

Robert came out and looked at our furnace. Was able to perform a reset and get us running right away — no charge!

Had them come out an fix my AC unit last summer when it stopped working suddenly. Great customer service and I appreciate the fact that they don’t charge you to come out and diagnose an issue unlike most other companies. Honest company and great work, no high pressure sales tactics either.

Wanted to come here to heap praise on Robert only to find that I’m last in a long line of people before me who have come to do the same. Had a circuit in the kitchen on the fritz all weekend, was fairly concerned about a potential electrical fire, and was so relieved when DFC told me on Monday morning that Robert would be out that evening. Punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable, Robert showed up «on his way home» at the end of the day, around 6pm, and fixed our panel in under an hour. Went above and beyond by checking out some other concerns I had (which required him to go outside in the pouring rain) and providing a requested estimate for some additional work that we need. Can’t say enough about DFC/​Robert. Thanks again!

Top of the line service!!! 5 stars no doubt, they came in my home very professional. I had a big job for them consisting of a fan, oven range fan, 2 chandeliers, bathroom vanity light and 5 flush mount lights. They were friendly, efficient, double checked everything with me and tested all they installed. I will be calling them back for any work I need done in the future. DFC is very professional. I had a variety of miscellaneous work needed at my home. They set up my appointment quickly and was able to give me an estimate within days! They had a very nice attitude, no job too small and was able to fix all my electrical issues within a few hours that day. They had a great team and cleaned up after themselves perfectly!

DFC saves the day again! Robert and Sam came to our house cleaned our furnace and installed a humidifier, and our furnace is now purring like a kitten. More importantly, they identified that our thermostat had not been installed correctly the first time around (they did not do the initial installation), so they fixed that as well.
I am so impressed with their work. I cannot say enough good things about all they’ve done for us.

Great electricians! I called DFC for an issue with the circuit breaker and to get an outlet and lightswitch/​fixture installed. I called on a Monday and they were out by Thursday (quite fast for a non-​emergency call). They were here about 2.5 hrs and fixed the breaker, installed my outlet and light. Professional, courteous, clean — all around a great experience. Great price for all the work they did! I would definitely recommend and will use them again in the future for sure!

I placed a call yesterday afternoon regarding 2 electrical outlets in the family room that mysteriously just stopped working, and tripped the switch in the main panel. My husband investigated and could not figure it out, and he has done some serious electrical installation for his Carpentry Workshop power tools.

This morning I got a call to set up an appointment for a convenient time later today. Perfect. Sam was our electrician, and he was pleasant to work with, very knowledgeable and communicative about what he was trouble-​shooting, and possible outcomes. He went on a wire-​hunting adventure in our 104 year old home, encountering several decades of «fixes», discovering hidden boxes, as well defunct knob and tube wiring. I got a bit of an electrical education, because I wanted to understand so I could relay the information to my husband. Sam explained so I could comprehend and it was all good-​to-​know information. It was very re-​assuring for me, that we did not have any dangerous electrical problems –which I had projected, being so ignorant on the subject. Whew!
After investigation of many outlets and light switches, Sam figured out the issue, and thanks to his skills and experience, he fixed the problem with minimal cosmetic damage — none in the very old plaster — (only a couple of drywall cut outs in the basement laundry room, which we can diy fix). Sam looked into a couple of other issues and projects. He confirmed what my husband had expected — something that he can do himself, so now I know what to ask for at the «Home Despot». Another, an outlet that has never worked … it should have been removed years ago, so we can do that. Finally, Sam discussed the feasibility and estimated the cost of installing a light fixture in an old closet which houses our laundry chute, and where I keep bathroom supplies and first aid related items. It’s a big closet and we need to shed light on it’s contents because it gets a lot of use. Again something that my husband determined was above his knowledge level.
So, I’m a happy customer with 2 outlets fully functional again, and I look forward to Sam returning to install the closet light fixture. Considering the amount of work involved, I found the price to be fair, plus I got a Unilocal discount. The estimate for the fixture seems reasonable too.

Ok now seriously… these guys are awesome. Dealt with an hour wait today for the unit provided by my warranty company with a smile. Got here at the end of a likely long, hot day and were so nice and diligent about installing the unit and answering my numerous questions. (Plus, Daniel had a great bluesy playlist going while working in the basement!) Honestly, I will be giving DFC my business for HVAC and generator service from here on out. Can’t say enough about them! So impressed!

There are too many good things to say about my experience with DFC (specifically Sam and Robert). Per a city inspection, we had a lot of electric work that needed to be done. DFC called me back within a half hour of me calling them to schedule an appointment, then called to confirm, and showed up on time. As first time homebuyers we were very intimidated by the amount of electrical work that needed to be done. DFC was very reasonably priced for the amount of work they did (in ONE DAY –amazing).
I am overwhelmed with my experience of working with DFC, it was exceptional. I will call them for any and every future job I have.
